lol this really depends which band one likes more: COB or pantera. dimebag probably plays with more emotion but i much prefer Alexi's melodic, neoclassical sound. he also has the edge in technicality and songwriting so laiho gets my vote. both are phenomenal players

Dimebag never shredded as much as he was able to do. schenker said that he met him once, and wasn't able to play like him, and you know, schenker piss rings around laiho technically. not that laiho is that technicall or fast, actually. but sweep picking sounds faster than pentatonic shredding, even when it's not. it just sounds faster. so, in my personal rank:

Dime is/was the shit, but Alexi just has just got too much game for him. Way better handles, superior song writing ability, his attitude is more intense -Alexi Laiho's the one! Better to compare Dimebag to someone like Hendrix or something.
