I'm getting a RF711, however mine has the Intel Core i5 processor, i7 (also with 6 gb of ram - 750 gb HDD). Just wondering if you've tested this one, and if so, is it still as good?? Thanks :)
hey jeff im looking for a pc under $1300 with i7, 8 gb ram ddr3+, 4cores, 2gb graphics, and 750gb+ hard drive 7200. I was looking at the hp pav dv6, any recomendations?
@GOcgyFLAMESgo I've got a few that we currently have listed on our site -- check your inbox for the full list, but we found four options for you, including the HP DV6TQE, XPS15, Lenovo IdeaPad Y560p and Asus Gamer Series.
@TechBargains ey jeff, Is there a big diffrence between 1600 x 900 pixels laptop and the full hd? And I can't decide which laptop I should choose. Can you tell me which one you would recommend me?
Hey Jeff, great video. I recently got this laptop (s02) and had very bad problems with overheating (it would get incredibly hot very fast while playing World of Warcraft) and the FPS would spiral down quickly to under 10 using the lowest settings possible. Could I reliably attribute this to a bad fan or is it just that bad? I sent it back to Newegg so hopefully that was the issue but I'm not sure. Thanks in advance!
@ColdParadox Due to overheating the CPU will throttle.. and yes it's probably a fan problem. If you take a look at notebookcheck review of this laptop their model wasn't getting any near 'hot' even when using GPU and CPU benchmarks at once ;) And just because WoW doesn't even use a quarter of the power of i7-2630QM and GT540M :)
@pietjanhenk Hey, thanks for the catch! The i7-2630qm processor that I mentioned in the video is the right one. I think our video editor just put in the wrong specs in the side bar.
I I found this reviewto be very insightful and thought out, very helpful with covering all the bases of what the laptop is and isn’t capable of. I also found the drawbacks of the RF711 mentioned to be reasonably covered. All in all, it’s a great and informative review :) I would love to get a laptop like this.
Thanks for review. I would deal with all those problem for a processor like that. Kinda disappointed they didn't put better hardware components in this machine, but sadly we - the consumer- is used to this kind of thing. Thanks again.
Great review! I really enjoy your refined and informative reviews. Could you perhaps make a video on what would be the most affordable and gaming "friendly" laptop? Thanks!

Yo Jeff,
there must be something wrong in one off the specification list you gave up.
in the video description you say it's a i7-2630qm.
In the blue bar on the left you say it's a i7-2410M.
Which of the two is right?

@xJohnnyIsFreshx That would be Dirt 3 and The Witcher 2.

@TechBargains When you played those games, did they run smoothly and with ease?
Also, did the laptop overheat when put under pressure from these games?
