  • It's not that bad for an automatic. Nobody buys an n/a 944 expecting a race car. My 2000 buick lesabre would walk away from old 944 in a straight line, but that thing was a blast to drive. I had an '86 5 speed, and it handled amazingly.

  • @MazdaXmonster Did it live up to expectations?

  • @MazdaXmonster Yes, the automatic was a 3 speed.

  • Who cares if it's auto, just enjoy the car. Not like you're going to be racing anyone with a 944 for anyways.

  • @xsalvioutlawx I'm sure I could have enjoyed it. Sold it a long time ago. I had a 1986 535i auto for 7 years which was primarily my wifes and we both enjoyed it. My daily is a 1998 TDi Beetle. No rush and the 45-49 mpg is nice!

  • @asnowsquall what you recomend this for a first car for $2950?

  • i got an 88 auto. slow as shit but looks fast :D

  • @nocaca4u Im thinking about buying an auto in good condition its an 88, just how slow are they is all im worried about, is it a serious downside or something you can get over?

  • people who say there shit cars have never drove one, they werent just slapped together you know, they handle beautifully ive outrun mustangs, audis you name it just cuz of the handling alone, its untouchable, plus i have a 944s2.

  • Opinions are like sphincter's, everyone has one.

  • @asnowsquall When you are talking about 944's they all FUCKING stink that's for sure!

  • @asnowsquall i like the 944 its a beautiful car in my opinion and its cheap to get now a days lmao i found one on vancouver craigslist for 5000$ and its in mint with like 190xxxkm which is alot but for a first car for me thats dam good lmao

  • @assphincter thats why it was the first car with front engine/rear tranny, 50/50 weight distribution, the fastest and most powerful 4cyl of its time and still an icon. I would have to say I agree with you.

  • @assphincter Your joking right? the 944 was a brilliant car.

  • its a porsche but its pretty slow.....

  • those are solid cars! take care of it and look up the maintenents you need to do.

  • i have a 944 with just 27 000 miles on it

  • i guess it got a new speedo then

  • @poilducul57 nice! what year?

  • should i buy an 86 944 with 136,000 miles on it? its only $2995 all opinions are helpful

  • If it looks like the mechanical work has been taken care of, such as the timing belt(very crucial that the timing belt gets replaced if not.)For that asking price, I would think that the mechanical work hasn't been very well kept up with.If you can though, try to get a look under the hood and under the car to see if the previous owner did something dumb or took it somewhere they did something dumb. First thing that went on me was the fuel pump, then the rack. And the used rubber hose as bushings

  • ya its a good deal i got my 86 for $4995.

  • @blackpowers234 sounds good. thats not that many miles. with the right maintenance they will run right up to 200k

  • @blackpowers234 sounds good. thats not that many miles. with the right maintenance they will run right up to 200k

  • dude somthin is slapen at idle, u might want to check it out

  • Yeah it sounds like a worn pistonrod bearing......ouch :-S

  • no, i have the same sound at idle, its the rubber bushing for the center shaft, its a real pain to repair

  • automatic? dude are u serious?

  • wat about it?

  • where is the fun in that?

  • @KerryGetz1122 drive one and you'll see

  • @KerryGetz1122 yea 80% are autos!! but u can get a aftermarket tranny and mod ur car to fit it and shit then u can make it a stick but id prefer a auto

  • @tylerwalker2 Why do you prefer the auto, im thinking about buying a 88 auto, are they really that slow?

  • i love my 944 shes my baby..

  • The engine sounds very wrong. Bottom ends about to go.

  • lol my dad is buying one ths a 1985.5 and its stick and in perfect consition

  • Just sold this one yesterday for what I had into it, $1,350. Owned for 2 whole months. Guy that purchased it said its the damper plate for sure. I'm going to retore my other turd, a 1983 VW Rabbit diesel! LOL.

  • that things a turd

  • said the turd.
