Theism is not a religion either. RELIGION is a attempt to answer questions about that portion of human experience that science cannot. There are such attempts that incorporate deities and others that do not. And just as phlogiston turned out to be a stupid idea, so have gods turned out to be wrongheaded. It's as simple as that.
