how come every time someone draws a sketch of someone the sketch always is looking in another direction beides where its supposed to be looking, like the actual one is looking at camera, then the sketch is looking at something behind the camera :/

It's not that impressive. If you really want an accurate likeness, then take a photograph or use a camera obscura. If the point is to show how good your hand and eye coordination is then fine. But don't pretend this is art. It isn't art. It's more like juggling. Clever, skilled but ultimately meaningless.

That was amazing, but I'm not trying to be an ass by saying this. Critisizing will only make someone get better, but I think you should have made the nose a little bit longer and the the face of the original picture is longer and thinner, you rounded it out a little, amazing still though

When you sketch, never use lines. On the human face, there are no lines. What creates "lines" are shadows

if i were you, i'll start from left to right and top to bottom if you're a right handed..and remember that "black is not always black and white is not always white" :p

AAHHH!!! artist super egos!!! I'm drowning in it. Hey guys... ITS A DRAWING! AND a damn good one at that. I don't see a claim made that he was shooting for 100% photo realism... and who really cares who can do better. No matter how good you are, there is ALWAYS someone better... and art is subjective. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

doesnt lok much like the picture but looks real enough. the eyes are looking in a different direction and the face is wider, nose larger, and tone lighter in the copy. he/she's got an excellent use of shading but that's the only thing great about it. i hate how some artist refuse to erase, cuz if this person is a true artist he would've known the major differences 3/5

i can't draw at a more technical level but i think rather than just copy a persons face to a really realistic level. Why dont people use their imagination and draw something which is actually visceral and interesting. In that regards, i would say i am better, i'm less skilled, but ive certainly got more imagination.

her eyes are a slightly bit unfocused, like she's looking at another object, the way you drew it, and in teh drawn one, her face is a bit fatter, and the nose is kind of different. and then mouth is wider in the picture, but other than that, it was perfect.
