@jeystonemusic bottom dealing is when you shuffle the cards you want to the bottom of the deck and when your dealing the cards you deal your self the cards you want or the cards you wana give someone. it takes some good practice so that it looks fluent

That's not why he came though, he wanted to use his cheating skills to win. I think psychologically there was more going on in Worms head than just paying off a debt. There are no casinos in mainland. So people can only do it privately in houses. If you're caught with mechanic grip or cheating, your wrist gets cut off. It's much easier to have mechanic grip with hanafuda cards than poker cards. And you can't do anything about your wrist bcz u shouldn't have gamble

i'm sure there will be some simple asshole who will point out that this is just a movie, as if i thought this was a true life documentary...but, just for discussion's sake, i thought it was too unrealistic that worm would sit down and start cheating after seeing that mike was already winning a substantial amount...yeah, i know, worm was a reckless dude, but i don't think any human can be that senseless

well, that one cop did catch worm dealing from the bottom of the deck right as he dealt a card to damon...in fact, the cop grabbed worm's hand immediately after he dealt that card to damon...so, i guess that's what made the other dude at the table accuse worm and damon of working together

maybe they should of had another scene at the bowling alley.... in fact i am sure they would of but cut it to add to the plot.

@MrJamesb83 yeah, true...since this card game seemed somewhat exclusive, not a game that a random fool in a bowling alley would get an invite to....but, for some reason managers at bowling alleys always seem to be pretty informative about shit in town...and knowing worm, it wasn't "by accident"...that fool was probably scouring that bowling alley, which was probably right up the street, for someone who might be associated w/ that card group

That's not why he came though, he wanted to use his cheating skills to win. I think psychologically there was more going on in Worms head than just paying off a debt. He wanted to show the world and himself that he does have skills and is able. That and Worm trusts his cheating skills more than his poker skills.

In hindsight that of course would be the right move. Mike might have figured Worm would be at least smarter with his mechanics, in the hand where he dealt Mike trip kings if one of those cops were paying attention he might suspect something is up. Worm was visibly disappointed with Mike's fold, and shot a glance later at Mike when he noted the action in the hand. A stranger usually wouldn't do that when they've just met. Then for all we know Worm may have tried a similar thing on his next deal.

If you're curious, watch Tazza: The High Rollers. This isn't poker but it does reveal dirty cruelty of Korean gambling society. In Korea, it's illegal to gamble. You're not allowed to gamble at all. There are no casinos in mainland. So people can only do it privately in houses. If you're caught with mechanic grip or cheating, your wrist gets cut off. It's much easier to have mechanic grip with hanafuda cards than poker cards. And you can't do anything about your wrist bcz u shouldn't have gamble

this is unnecessary comment but Korea is worse. There's a silent rule that says "If you're caught cheating, your wrist shall be cut off" And people do this privately in house games. Since there are no casinos in mainland Korea, it's held in private houses. IF you're caught, your wrist is cut off. I think i rather get my ass kicked than getting my wrist cut off.
