Museum of Art, located on the Lakefront,

back in 1983. I love this painting!

Thank you for showcasing Gerome's work. One of the greatest orientalist painters in my opinion. He really filled a void in the sense that Islam's prohibition of images had kept the East even more mysterious. Notwithstanding the hints of sensuality, even the staunchest Muslim would find difficulty in finding fault in Gerome's beautiful contribution to Art.
