  • Great work on the rendering, looks awesome

  • i have that kit but it is gray and black

  • Nice

  • How was this made? Is this from a game or a new movie or what? I loved tho old zoids show and I've been dying for something to come back.

  • I love it! It's so clear! So beautiful! The lighting! The camera! The aesthetics! BEST CG EVAR!

  • @kurayami0501 thanks, I appreciate your positive comments.

  • WOW

  • DAmn dude good job

  • let me say wow! to make a long story short my idea is a new us -toho made king kong vs godzilla. using the same premise of the last mecha zilla movies.

  • IRON KONG!

  • sure its cg seems a bit too cg

  • fantastic work!!

  • that was a toy

  • oh shit thats awe-some especially the 3D atmosphere and gore zoid too!! this video i think is 30 000 $ worth...maybe less than this...

  • that was so awesome! can you do that with the ligar zero?

  • ok that was awesome!

but can you do that with the liger zero?

  • I love the Camera movment.

  • @KevinHarper3DArtist Thanks! I consciously animated the camera so there wasn't any unnecessary over the top movement.

  • looks awesome!!!!

  • great video, hope u will make other characters.

  • Iron Kong, Aperture edition, lol

  • @KevinLounsberry If you are referring to the game Portal, then yes I see where you're coming from, love that game, very original.

  • @andywhiteley yeah, lol. Hey, good job on this too, it really looks real. I'd love to see some zoid combat with models of this quality.

  • EPIC!

  • what program is it download link plz

  • wooow very nice

  • nice work. it looks real

  • How did you maked this?

I mean Whats the Animation program?

  • where did you get your sounds?

  • @XCrossRage Some of the sounds are from sound effects cd's and the others I recorded myself using an Olympus LS-10 wav recorder. These sounds include various motors, windscreen wipers, electric windows and doors etc.

  • Dont think we can do this in blender :(

  • wow man, this is cool: really nice shading and light :)

  • very impressive that was awesome!

  • Very cool indeed! I'm impressed. :) It's almost like you mo-capped the original Gore! I'd love to get that rendering real-time (with some compromises of course).

  • That is impressive...That is a very well done piece. How much time do you have on the industry?

  • Awesome !!!

  • Geez man. That's awesome. Just started my 3D animation class for maya. Maybe in 50 years i'll be able to pull something like this off.

  • in 50 years, there can be more than this done.....and all this does is walk so you just need a script to make it continuasly walk then just ajust the cameras and after that your done...i think

  • whats up with this walk?

  • It's how the actual toy Zoid walks.

  • Not used it, but I know you can model and animate in Blender, depends if you can render using Global Illumination or not. By the looks of the images on their website I think you can. Give it a go, after all it is open source software and therefore free!

  • Could I do the same thing in blender? :)

  • Wow where did you do this man? XD In blender or in Maya?! O_O Amzazing man XD!!

  • Animation now in HD 720 on Vimeo (link on the right)

  • how'd you render the film using mental ray? we only know using mental ray in producing images. but we are currently doing a short film. pls help us.

    your clip is really amazing.

  • Watch the making of (link down the right hand side) I ended up using finalRender as Mental Ray was producing unwanted flicker. I only used Mental Ray for the occlusion pass in the end.

  • what software is this?? can someone tell me please.,

    thank you.,

  • Interesting how the robot's reactor startup is similiar to that of a particle accelerator from the Ghostbusters.

  • beast robot. how do u see it in 3d

  • Ime dawnloding this

    this is AWSAM

ps can you do the liger zero

o my god this is sooooo cool

  • Please help me, which file format should I use to render mental ray movie ????

  • Use an uncompressed file format such as a 32-Bit .tga file which also saves an alpha channel. Import the .tga's as a sequence into your editing program and output to uncompressed quicktime. This can now be exported to a compressed movie file such as flash .flv or quicktime H.264

  • Thanks a lot!

  • how did you get the widescreen?

  • Its an option when rendering I believe

  • impresionante. excelente!

  • Wow this brings weird visions from the past back xD

  • This is really nice dude i love too see this keep doing this

  • This is amazing. Although it would have been nicer with a different Zoid, like a Blade Liger, or a Liger Zero. Or maybe even a Shadow Fox.

  • Wow! I'm completely blown away. I love Iron Kong and to see him in this kind of action is just AWESOME.

  • it looks really nice but the animation where he walks on his knuckles is a little off

  • The animation is based on the actual toy Zoid which walks in quite a strange way. I wanted to make it more appealing, so I had to get a balance between the two and cater for how the separate parts of the model interact with each other.

  • COOL man....:D....

  • this animation is pure win, i hope you can do geno saurer or something like it.

  • my school has maya ive played with it allitle

  • good job

  • EPIC!

  • I used Maya. All the details are in the side bar to the right.

  • I really like the rendering and sound fx, but using the animation of a toy model's walk wasn't the better choice, imo. Nevertheless, it is better than what I've done.

  • wow!!! that waz awesome do have more?? it be great to see more of them have u seen "zoids short movie " that vid is good to ^_^ awsome job

  • Wow, that was excellent! Iron Kong (oops, I mean Gore!) is such a complicated subject, but you did him justice. Poor pilot must have been bouncing around like crazy in the cockpit.

  • WoW! That was cool! Very nice computer graphics . Iron Kong is one of my favorites. Check out my Zoids movie with Iron Kong. I made it about 25 years ago. It's called ZOIDS "THE MOVIE" PART I

It's done the old fashion way sets, explosions and real Zoids. Again SUPER job!

  • Thanks RONBONIX, I love your films from the 80's. You must have taken ages making them. Check out my website for more 3D Animated movies.

  • Thank you for the compliment! I look forward checking out your website. Keep up the great work.

  • mother of zoids!! i want a game like that!!!!

any saber fang, or lightings saix??

  • u must be really proud of it...

but i cant understand the movement of the arm ... i hope u know wht i mean

  • The arm mimics the movement of the actual Zoids toy. Animation is therefore restricted as each individual part has to interact with each other in the same way.

  • then its flawless video....can u make it interact with a small robot barbie ;) will be nice story ... the robotic king kong

  • Amazingly animated the only problem that i could see with it is, if you look back at the old 3D models that were used in the Zoids: Chaotic Century this particular zoid rests most of its weight on its two front arms, which seems to be lacking here. It appears as if they are just loosly flowing with movement of the body rather than giving the impression that they are carrying the weight of the zoid.

But all the same, epic animation.

  • The back legs carry most of the weight. I wanted to go by the movement of the toy. I have not seen the cartoon so I can't comment on that.

  • DUDE! It looks like something from an awesome movie called ZOIDS! If you don't think it'd take extremely long (I know it'd probably take a few years), you should make a Zoids movie. That looked Hollywood right there bro.

  • Id love to see a tutorial!!!

  • Click 'more info' at the side and then on 'Making of 3D Gore Zoid Animation'. I'm working on a guide to how it was done, so it should be up soon.

  • Yay! Iron Kong!

  • What did you use to do this??I HAVE to know!

  • Hi, to create the sequence I used Maya, Mental Ray, Final Render and After Effects.

  • Thank you.

  • I had this robot unfortunately my mom steped on it,can anyone show me how its lookss like from the inside I am trying to make one from scrap

  • Click 'more info' at the side to check out my website. There is an animation showing the exploded view building into the final model.

  • Totally awesome!!!

  • very nice materials and lighting! It looked very real. The camera shake was a nice touch too

  • OMG that is so good u need to make good stuff like this u could make a wicked game or a movie make more plzzzzz :)

  • Dude that was insane imagine if you made a zoids movie dude you would make billions or even trillions frikin awesome make another plz if you can . your awesome

  • @BerserkLigerZero9 If it follows the original battle story and had some good voice actors I'd buy every season if this guy actually took it that far. Of course, there would have to be legal permission >.>

  • how did you do that? 0.o

  • in good quality?, in any type of quality my friend

  • what the waka!? OMG O.O just wooooooow

  • Meh throw a Death Saurer in there and let the chaos go unchecked. ;)

  • lol

  • Now the Jedi and the Republic are officially screwed XP

  • Dude this is amazing animation!! The environment and lighting reflections are awesome!! Excellent Job!!

  • The animation is amazing and the sound is spot on!

    (Great website too!)
