i noticed some the chips are t.i. when i opened up mine. and after hearing this i may just pass one of them along to trade as i already have a bent speak and spell and math
No magnets, just short circuiting certain spots on the circuit board and adding switches. You can circuit bend any electronic toy but the most famous talking circuit bendables are the three original speak and spells (Speak and spell, speak and read, and speak and math).
The one in this video is a famous one, but fairly rare to find.
There are instructions on how to bend those on the internet and in the book "Circuit Bending".
However part of circuit bending is experimenting you own ideas.
you know. i just picked one up about 10 minutes ago.. it doesn't sound much different than a t.i. speak here.. and know what, i just opened mine and the ics are tis!!!!! but i'm SURE theres way more to do here!
I used to play with a Talking Teacher when I was a kid. One day I found out pushing a sequence of buttons causes the circuit to "bend" and make crazy noises.
Pressing "I" and "enter" at the same time does the trick, there may be others. I used to get the thing to say crazy things like "Five plus radio equals" in the math mode.
alright you talked me into it... I'll get the parts ordered this week, hopefully I can finish it up sometime next week. I've been out of switches for a while.
thanks, wait til you see it finished, I've added a knob and some more switches but I'm waiting to order parts to finish it up before I will make a new video.
