This commenting is NOT trolling and it is NOT looking for the response from anyone who strongly disagrees (I totally understand if you'd hate the comparison) but can anyone else other than me hear Dimebag Darrel style riffing here? Especially the intro and outro. Obviously in no way intentional - Love it though!
He claims to be inspired by British Blues performers including ... go and look and you will find out. On Jools Holland Show he says it all. Bringing British blues guitar from New York after we had taken it from Black US blues players and sold it to white USA. It is all clever stuff and filled with history. Go and look at this guy's other work and tell me he is not one of the best blues guitarists on the planet right now.
my metal music is so good, that for example, in neo-classical progressive metal, at 15 notes a second without a single mistake , I almost lose consciousness because it is SO good, that it is better than sex. the most hommo-erectus question as: Does it can get any better than Joe Banana? well, If you took the time to close your TV and Radio, and see that there is 500,000 bands of extreme metal, you would go suicide because you will consider yourself too much innocent
Its a pity he's the only guy who can make a living playing this kind of music, its like he's frozen in time - I don't mean that in a bad way, this is the kind of music I was brought up on and its bewildering to me that it just disappeared. If you want a career in music now theres no point spending years practicing and honing your craft because its so hard to get your music heard. Mike Slamer makes a Modern Classic like Nowhereland and its like it doesn't exist..
@Veaseify It hasn't disappeared all together. You just need to find the right bands. The Dead Weather, Wolfmother, DeWolff, Muse, Green Day etc. They might not all play what you like, but there are definitely enough bands out there that take you back to the good times!
@JNovak92 I love Wolfmother, Muse I can take it or leave it although they are apparently awesome live, and Green Day are great but have been around forever. I will check out the other two bands that I don't know. Really what I mean by 'this style of music' is Blues rock with virtuoso guitar solos, people like Erik Sardinas, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Walter Trout and Johnny Lang barely scrape by although I guess thats being true to the ethos of 'Blues' historically.
@Veaseify I understand, but then I think DeWolff might be something for you, taking you back to the 60's and 70's. Another reason why you might not have heard of others, is because they cannot become famous anymore in the current musical climate. Music is being judged on whether it's renewing, original, and unconventional, killing the good old blues-rock, psychedelic rock, and the music of bands like CCR, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Rory Gallagher, Cream, and SRV.
@JNovak92 - Checked out half a dozen DeWolff songs, love the music - Jon Lords Hammond sound reborn! but they need a singer, normally poor singers don't bother me but the guys voice is just annoying and tuneless. If you had told me The Dead Weather was a Jack White project I wouldn't have bothered listening - the guy is hugely overrated for me and the 2 songs I heard just reinforced my opinion. Everything has to progress, I understand that, but originality can't cover a lack of musical ability.
@Veaseify Well, I've heard a lot of people who can't take Jack White's voice. Well, he's a minimalist, and tries to get the most out of his music with the least possible technical support. I actually like his voice, in the music that he makes with his bands, but that is, indeed, a matter of opinion. I like him very much as a musician in general. Btw, DeWolff's singer is often compared to (but not identified with!) Jim Morrison's voice. I don't think he lacks musical ability, even in his voice.
@avenger4546 There's some Iron Chains even more famous. They were used in some track of Abbey Road, I think. Not sure wich album, white album or abbey road. It's a Beatle Iron Chain.
nubs u dont even realise this is a johnny cash reference to a long past song that also rocked. john henrys hammer was a true classic from johnny he di at the diff prisons i think was folsom the best one if i remember right
Iv gotta say thank you to Planet Rock for introducing me to Joe Bonamassa because i wouldnt of known about him otherwise \m/ kicks arse this track \m/
This guy is playing for what, around 20 years now right? Mid 90's, so who says that nothing good came out since 90+...I'm REALLY glad that in sea of so called artists, Joe is doing original, simple yet so complex art that all of us should appreciate and bow to his talent. Thank you for giving us such MAGNIFICENT music. Keep on rockin!
@Popisbetterthankfunk what do you know about music?. who are you? what have you ever done thats more successful? post some stuff online of your own music see if you can do better. full of shit.
@sleevedagger Just ignore the fool. Hes fishing for passionate people to bite. What he should do is stop trying to get negative reactions out of people online and get a real education.
The guitar tuning is crazy low, 2 and 1/2 steps below E. How does his strings not just full off? man i hope this guy dosen't have to die first before people give him the recognition he deserves, the best artist in years end of story.
I've been waiting a long time for someone who can do the following:
1. Lay down rock, rock blues and blues tunes that will have you picking your jaw up off the floor. 2. Absolutely rip apart the fretboard by applying multilple techniques and blazing chops (this guy is NOT a one trick pony) from song to song and even within a song. 3. Have a voice that supports his guitar work AND can sing within the framework of multiple styles (rock, blues, rock blues etc..). JOE BONAMASSA is the REAL DEAL!!!
@genxxxersize If you play a Joe Bonamassa song or any of that kind, and watch a SAW movie in the meantime, you will definitely get all of that combined! :)

This is just too good. This video shows so much more than I think you were trying to show...It's a teaching tool for people to find out just a little of what goes into a song. I love the song bye the way. Thank you

This is just too good. This video shows so much more than I think you were trying to show...It's a teaching tool for people to find out just a little of what goes into a song. I love the song bye the way. Thank you
