  • oh man, all the memories that go with this song, its just overwelming, this is a really good song, the guitar and the voice of joe its amazing

  • This commenting is NOT trolling and it is NOT looking for the response from anyone who strongly disagrees (I totally understand if you'd hate the comparison) but can anyone else other than me hear Dimebag Darrel style riffing here? Especially the intro and outro. Obviously in no way intentional - Love it though!

  • Joe Bonamassa's so good, he got on the cover of Classic Rock magazine and he's not even classic.

  • This guy is a BEAST !

  • the song

  • really love joe but not as much as is ED-Hardy t-shirt :P where I live does t-shirt belong to douche and he his clearly not

  • wow ...what a song .

  • 3:20 Wooo! John Petrucci guitar! Joe has some great taste in gear!

  • @SamMerrell1 - It's the same model but not the Petrucci's signature.

  • Super Guitarist Joe Excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • He has such an awesome voice!

  • How can anyone not like this? It's a all about tastes but damn...

  • @Hylgar Completely agree with you hehehe

  • Damn, i'd never guess this was recorded with a strat

  • MUY BUENO!

  • He claims to be inspired by British Blues performers including ... go and look and you will find out. On Jools Holland Show he says it all. Bringing British blues guitar from New York after we had taken it from Black US blues players and sold it to white USA. It is all clever stuff and filled with history. Go and look at this guy's other work and tell me he is not one of the best blues guitarists on the planet right now.

  • I have a feeling that kashmir inspired most of this

  • @penguinteeth3 Kashmir as in the LedZep song or as in the Swedish band?

  • Come to Brno again please !

  • 25 persons do not know what quality music is.

C YA MARCH 19TH IN SWEDEN JOE!!!!

  • Saw him live a couple weeks ago and he performed this one! Awesome on the album even better live!

  • truly amazing, love it so much.

  • my name is john henry i love these song. i went to one of his concerts it was great

  • hmmm...many guitars...any lefty ones? hahahaha...that's segregation...

  • i don't know what i'd pay more for? joe's skillz or that studio!!!!

  • @lanerant joe's skills for sure. then you can become rich and famous and get one just like he did. win-win! right? :D

  • @0xlAFSftwlx0 well sometimes talent isnt enough you need friends, luck, a little good looks? :D

  • @harshpeter hahah yeah very true

  • This is such a badass tune! :D

  • Its a pity he's the only guy who can make a living playing this kind of music, its like he's frozen in time - I don't mean that in a bad way, this is the kind of music I was brought up on and its bewildering to me that it just disappeared. If you want a career in music now theres no point spending years practicing and honing your craft because its so hard to get your music heard. Mike Slamer makes a Modern Classic like Nowhereland and its like it doesn't exist..

  • @Veaseify It hasn't disappeared all together. You just need to find the right bands. The Dead Weather, Wolfmother, DeWolff, Muse, Green Day etc. They might not all play what you like, but there are definitely enough bands out there that take you back to the good times!

  • @JNovak92 I love Wolfmother, Muse I can take it or leave it although they are apparently awesome live, and Green Day are great but have been around forever. I will check out the other two bands that I don't know. Really what I mean by 'this style of music' is Blues rock with virtuoso guitar solos, people like Erik Sardinas, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Walter Trout and Johnny Lang barely scrape by although I guess thats being true to the ethos of 'Blues' historically.

  • @Veaseify I understand, but then I think DeWolff might be something for you, taking you back to the 60's and 70's. Another reason why you might not have heard of others, is because they cannot become famous anymore in the current musical climate. Music is being judged on whether it's renewing, original, and unconventional, killing the good old blues-rock, psychedelic rock, and the music of bands like CCR, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Rory Gallagher, Cream, and SRV.

  • @JNovak92 - Checked out half a dozen DeWolff songs, love the music - Jon Lords Hammond sound reborn! but they need a singer, normally poor singers don't bother me but the guys voice is just annoying and tuneless. If you had told me The Dead Weather was a Jack White project I wouldn't have bothered listening - the guy is hugely overrated for me and the 2 songs I heard just reinforced my opinion. Everything has to progress, I understand that, but originality can't cover a lack of musical ability.

  • @Veaseify Well, I've heard a lot of people who can't take Jack White's voice. Well, he's a minimalist, and tries to get the most out of his music with the least possible technical support. I actually like his voice, in the music that he makes with his bands, but that is, indeed, a matter of opinion. I like him very much as a musician in general. Btw, DeWolff's singer is often compared to (but not identified with!) Jim Morrison's voice. I don't think he lacks musical ability, even in his voice.

  • I'm not a big fan of Slide, but I like the solo in this song.

  • That BFR is a sweet guitar

  • at 1:44 ...i think its the most famous Iron Chain Ever Made ...She recorded Ballad of John Henry Man !!!! :)

  • @avenger4546 There's some Iron Chains even more famous. They were used in some track of Abbey Road, I think. Not sure wich album, white album or abbey road. It's a Beatle Iron Chain.

  • i just found about this guy like 6 months ago...he made my guitar playing so much more fun

  • This guy is playing for what, around 20 years now right? Mid 90's, so who says that nothing good came out since 90+...I'm REALLY glad that in sea of so called artists, Joe is doing original, simple yet so complex art that all of us should appreciate and bow to his talent. Thank you for giving us such MAGNIFICENT music. Keep on rockin!

  • This guy is true talent!

I have all of his ablums, went to see him live and I'm learning how to play his songs too! I LOVE JOE BONAMASSA!

  • Born to play......hell yeah!!

  • Brilliant musician and I love how he treats his guitars like their his children. By the way awesome Cactus tee you're rockin' there Joe. =)

  • Hes beyond brilliant......

  • That's playing the blues on a tracksuit, fuck yeah

  • 22 people killed john henry

  • how many musicians do you see doing that (singing and playing at the same time...in studio)?

  • This particular tune makes me think of Black Stone Cherry's album Folklore and Superstition.

  • Just awesome.

  • Master sliding on a Petrucci signature?! WTF? That was awesome

  • i hear led zep in the interlude kashmir!! great stuff!

  • What an amazing voice he has!!!

  • 21 people were killed by the hammer.

  • Is it a Wah wah he is using?

  • @97fred on the intro yes. according to the tabs.

  • i see, his using a baritone guitar, cool.

  • Forgot to mention how absolutely perfect this band is.

    Rock on Joe ;P

  • he makes music as if the last 30 years of music never occured ! this is shite and poison

  • @Popisbetterthankfunk what do you know about music?. who are you? what have you ever done thats more successful? post some stuff online of your own music see if you can do better. full of shit.

  • @sleevedagger Just ignore the fool. Hes fishing for passionate people to bite. What he should do is stop trying to get negative reactions out of people online and get a real education.

  • I found it all awesome, including the percussive chain sound! \o/ Bonamassa rocks! better saying.. .Blues!

  • The guitar tuning is crazy low, 2 and 1/2 steps below E. How does his strings not just full off? man i hope this guy dosen't have to die first before people give him the recognition he deserves, the best artist in years end of story.

  • AWESOME RIFF!!!! It sounds like somthing Tom Morello would write.

  • @3DChris82 true

  • Comprehensively Talented Man... What More Could You Ask For ;]

  • best riff ever

  • that snare is awesome

  • is this about john henry bonham?

  • @JKiRk790 John Henry is a man that an old folk lore story was written about. Look it up. Johnny Cash did a song about him as well.

  • I've been waiting a long time for someone who can do the following:

    1. Lay down rock, rock blues and blues tunes that will have you picking your jaw up off the floor. 2. Absolutely rip apart the fretboard by applying multilple techniques and blazing chops (this guy is NOT a one trick pony) from song to song and even within a song. 3. Have a voice that supports his guitar work AND can sing within the framework of multiple styles (rock, blues, rock blues etc..). JOE BONAMASSA is the REAL DEAL!!!

  • @genxxxersize totally agree!

  • @genxxxersize Apart from that he seems to be a REALLY nice guy :-)

  • @genxxxersize If you play a Joe Bonamassa song or any of that kind, and watch a SAW movie in the meantime, you will definitely get all of that combined! :)

  • must say that old bonamassa has a decent voice on him suits very much what he does

  • Awesome song from a truly awesome CD.

  • Joe bonamassa singing.. without a guitar? :L barely recognisable!

    Great song xD

  • Hard rock. Soft rock. Planet Rock.

  • @ghostorchid2 - thanks again for sharing this Susie. I absolutely love this version. Great upload -- super quality!!!!

  • This song was immense last night in Llandudno!

  • I WANT M 0:00 RE!

  • my replay button was as abused as michael vick's dogs

  • i drink whiskey while listening to Joe Bonamassa. Not at night but early in the afternoon.

  • Got a little Led Zepp section in there, huh?

  • After all that badass fight-music, he's like "Thank you" in a Mickey Mouse voice. Makes you love the guy even more!! haha

  • Maybe I'm just so use to listening to bands like Tool but whatever it is I really want to shoot the drummer :/ I know it fits the style but it's so goddamn boring...great song and love Bonamassa don't get me wrong

  • If you muted the sound on this video, it would still sound amazing.

  • hope i get to play with him before his time or my time comes...

  • Holy riff batman

  • anyone know what kind of guitar hes playing here

  • @verdmetsfan Which one, dude? I saw him use a couple, heh. The one he does the slide solo on looks like a John Petrucci Musicman, the Strat looks like the brand name starts with S. A Stonetree I think? I believe he has one of their baritone strats.

  • @Nadz1lla Thanks a lot. I was wondering about the strat you were right its a stonetree baritone strat.

  • @verdmetsfan probaly an sg/les paul double cutway-a strat (we can see it on the begining of the video, and probaly his signature les paul

  • AWESOME !!

Joe with an injection of Kings X...WOW !!!

  • ed hardy, adidas tarck pants, what a wog

  • the riff reminds me of rage against the machine ;P

  • Who gives a shit what he's wearing! Close your eyes, stfp and listen

  • If you like his voice a bit more rawer, be sure to check out his first 2 albums!

    He is god, so true

  • Hah, compared to john mayer. He may be good at the guitar but these songs are completely uninteresting.

  • @thevolslover John Mayer's a cunt.

  • @pipandrew hey murray

  • @thevolslover you are retarted and need to stop listening to the radio every once in a while. YOU KILLED JOHN HENRY MOTHER FUCKER!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @thevolslover You're delusional. John Mayer? You're fucking kidding me right??

  • why would such a great guitarist wear Ed Hardy?

  • Joe's voice needs to be more raw for a fat riff like that, but who am I kidding, Joe is god.

  • I hope this will be the theme song for Call of duty MW3 like you have put the game in youre console and boom this song is come up i think they could do crazy stuff with this song in cod mw3 because the beginning is with the guitar and then the nicest riff ever srry for my bad english

  • he's just crazy vhiskies up

    Lord, Lord

I'll die with my hammer in my hand

  • John Henry was a little baby sittin' on his daddy's knee pointed his finger at a little bit of steel said, 'that steel's gonna be the death of me' John Henry drove steel on the Southern He drove steel on the C and O He drove steel on the Big Bend tunnel It was steel drivin' killed John you know Steel drivin' killed John you know well the captain said to John Henry Gonna take that steam drill round Gonna take that steam drill out on the job Gonna hammer that steel on down.
  • slide master!

  • lol thank you @ 6:28

  • he is the fking bomb dude! (L)

  • someone knows what tunning he usses??

  • @Hyzleier sounds like DADGAD but in C, so em CGCFGC, rough guess though

  • @Hyzleier Its in the key of B... and its not drop B due to the way he plays the octaves on the low E and D strings, so it must be standard B. Standard down 2 1/2 steps. Basically a 7 string tuning on a 6 string leaving off the high E string.

  • @Hyzleier standared with the 6th tuned to b :)

  • I never listened blues until I heard him...

  • foarte buna piesa

  • Bonamassa reminds me of what SRV was to the eighties. He's keeping the blues alive. Just an incredible guitarist.

  • A-M-A-Z-I-N-G

  • OMG! I love this track and this video rocks!

  • The tenth best riff of the decade !! According to him and some newspapers :)

  • ААААААА my favorite song!!! =)

  • What can I say more then he is outstanding! I love this album ◄♥►

  • Total Tard...

  • Man....I'd almost give a limb to play like this cat....well, maybe a toe, but still!! He knows his way around some strings for sure....

  • The greatest artist of all time I have met him many times

  • That's Kevin "Caveman" Shirley in the studio.... I'm guessing this was recorded in California. Does anyone have accurate intel?

  • Awesome song!

  • its good to see John contantly name Rory Gallagher as an influence.

  • J.B. is like your name...HazardousVyrus, for the soul ;P

  • its hardf tou typre withf left hand

  • its like he doesn't have any idea what to do with his hands when he's singing without a guitar

  • This is just too good. This video shows so much more than I think you were trying to show...It's a teaching tool for people to find out just a little of what goes into a song. I love the song bye the way. Thank you

  • I'm 16 and I listen to this everyday.
