if you had problem with cat /sdcard/recovery.img > recovery.img and you have retyped it right and it still did not work, the reason is because you did not completely wipe your cd card clean. I used a mac an under utility i had to reformat it and go under security options and choose the zero one to remove all traces of recovery information. if this works for yo feel free to subscribe to my music :)

I did video 1 and then I tried the second part to the typing part in the Emulator, then I tried the Home and the power keys to get in the mode to go further. The darn thing just locks up every time (T**Mobile*) G1. I can't get the darn thing to work. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@MrQarsim Seriosly, you need to be EXTREMELY careful following each of these steps, Follow what Anthony does EXACTLY and you will be fine, its the best tutorial for rooting on youtube, you sound like you know what to do, i thought i did and bricked my phone.

What are you talking about!? Jailbreaking is Apple devices only...this is not a Jailbreak. Jailbreaks are made by the Dev-Team and GeoHot. If they don't develop hacks for android, then its not a Jailbreak. Its called something else, not a Jailbreak. And I thought android devices are open source?

i recomend doing the alt + w to wipe for each flash so it flashes properly. i have herd horror stories of it bricking the phone because of some left behind data

Yup basically what this link is is just a firmware so you can basically add any firmware you want, the one in the link is the old JF1.42 and now they have the JF1.5

I get to the part after the blue screen, I restart in recovery mode, everything has worked up until here. It says error: can't find image/command or something like that. i dont understand why its not working for my phone when i get to the terminal emulator part. it keeps telling me error. when it didnt tell me error, i had everything typed in. nothing happened. so i went 'home', powered off and tried to boot up with home and power and did the ATL+L and then ATL+S, and it told me it was unable to boot and gave me an error because of the file not being found??
