Very nice tuner! My friend owned S/N 9 since he knew Marantz. The first eight units went to family and closest friends of Marantz. Take good care of it. Also I own a 1 of 4 Sequerra Model 1 tuner specially modified with switchable quartz crystal LO, switchable ultra wide IF ( for distortion measurements) and switchable display blanking for increased S/N ratio.
@analogdesigner Thank you! I very much appreciate the additional Model 10 information. I am trying to keep a database of surviving units. I will add S/N 9 to it. The Sequerra Model 1 is an outstanding tuner that I would like to own someday.
@cpgixxer Good luck! If you win it, I will be more than happy to give you pointers on how to restore it. A lot of this rust is superficial and will come right off.
@cpgixxer Yeah, I saw that! Crazy money. I'm glad I have mine. Probably pass it on to my kid. John Curl owns a Model 10 also, and he was quoted as saying it was the finest piece of vintage tube electronics ever. I tend to agree!
Cool! Once upon a time, I was contacted by a fellow over in San Francisco who owned a Mode 10. He decided to clean the dial with Windex and you know what happened, eh? So, I rescued him with a set of fresh dial glass from my personal stash at that time. The guy nearly did a back flip at that!
@Marantzguy I contacted John via DIYaudio website where he posts frequently. He says his Model 10 works great except for aging filter caps which is normal for a unit this old. He stated on one of his threads that the Model 10 is the finest piece of vintage electronics he has owned. High praise indeed!

@crooner2007 Doubt I will, the price for these units is mental and my pockets aren't THAT deep, although I'd like to own one!

@cpgixxer So did you win the thing? Went for $1325 which is not at all unreasonable. With a new glass and elbow grease it should look quite nice.
crooner2007 3 months ago
@crooner2007 Nope, highest I went was $800, 1325 was a good price, just hard to justify right now cash wise.

@crooner2007 I'll wait till another one surfaces. On a good note, I got my 2235 fired up last night. Will make a vid tonight after I relamp it.
