Love the beginning when the girl prudishly brushes her boyfriend's hand off of her shoulder and gives a nice scowl for the cam...this poor bloke sure wasn't geting a leg over THAT night.. As for beloved Arthur, this is more historic than anything, but otherwise quite shambolic :(

This is an interesting musician, by the way. What would have happened if Arthur Brown gained Frank Zappa's support like Alice Cooper did?

It's too bad that the recording company executives don't take the kind of chances they did in the days of Napoleon XIV, Mothers of Invention, Alice Cooper, and COVEN, and Arthur Brown.!! Dr. Demento would have had a harder time finding those gems from the past, you know?

@Nguli34689 Frank Zappa was not in the position to be a patron to ANYONE in 1966. He reckoned Freak Out might be his only shot and gave it everything he had.

What made me ask is the Frank Zappa's interview re: record company executives then and now. I just wondered what would have happened if.... ...What I liked about Zappa's earlier recordings was his iconoclastic style, his praise of non-conformity, and a challange to authority figures.

The first time I heard Arthur Brown's FIRE was in 1968 on a S.F. Bay Area rock station: KFRC but my favorite would be TIME/CONFUSION.
