  • american doll posse is my favourite 2000's record of tori's, and scarlets walk is a very close second!, aats, and noh, are good, the beekeeper i really didn't like , mg and slg were good too

  • Great interview (set) that Tori covers everything from Y Kant Tori Read through American Doll Posse.

  • Does anyone know what happened with the 14-year-old girl who fainted at Tori's 1994 concert? Do you think Tori keeps in touch with her?

  • I wonder what the deal is now with Tori and these wigs she's been wearing. I wish she'd just go back to her real hair...

  • Is she morphing into Suzanne Vega? (the hair)!

  • the background music they chose for this is totally weird.

  • She looks like Shirley McLane here..

  • could listen to her talk all night

  • Now I know why Tori is the favorite of Cheer Chen, a pop star of Taiwan. Truth to yourself Cheer. Sing for the young people! Don't mind me already 48.

  • I always call her 'Tori´s Anus'

    Is that weird?

  • @EduardvanBeinum yes. and it's incredibly rude.

  • Is that a wig she's wearing?

  • @Glitterthesky yes.

  • honestly tori amos is my hero i love her

  • WHYYyyyy did she do that to her EYESSSS???!?!?

  • She's so cute!

    I love Tori Amos!!

  • Anyone know the song that starts 4 minutes in?

  • The music at 6:00 is SOOO out of place and weird! Doesn't suit what Tori is saying...it makes me LOL.

  • The clip-splicing isn't very convenient when you don't know what question they asked or what song or video she's referring to, it's just a little off-putting. O_o

  • it's pretty obvious what she's talking about actually

  • I value your condescension.

  • TORI, I love you!!!! The "girl and her piano" thing... nothing can compare to it! You are truely amazing, wonderful, etc. Thank you so much for everything, thank you so much for RAINN. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

  • I love this woman, so much! Good grief, I LOVE this woman. She is a true talent, a true prodigy, a true kind, loving, caring soul. If only I could be 1/100th the woman she is.

  • Really smart! Very touching and a good social guide :P

  • You are truly sillyTweekerhead . kate bush and tori amos were both influenced by Elton John and David Bowie. and all four of them are worth listening to. SO SHUT IT.

  • so sexy red hair!!!!

  • she's sooooooooooooooo smart. jeez. she just amazes me.

  • In this video she seems normal. Not druged like in manny others.

  • lol her hair

  • i want to impress amos!

  • Didnt she go to Julliard?

  • thank you so much. i am some one she speaks of.

  • tori is a musical genius. where's the confusion? END of story.

  • You could say the same thing about nearly every artist out there.. period .. and it's true! especially now days..

I'm very familiar with Kate Bush however, and aside from some occasional similarities, there's nothing more .. and not anywhere near the scale of what goes in in the music scene currently .. it sounds like you are just anti tori for some reason.. or pro KB and against anyone else..

Tori has created her own fan base and her own music, and therefore does have her own voice..

  • I had the first Kate Bush record back in 79 by 84 she was on her way to big time but she doesn't like to fly or tour

    So no US tour.

Then this copy appears in the late 80's I thought wonder who's she fashioned her style after?

Go find out who K Bush is and remember when your watching and listening, Kate Bush was the original.

I resent Copy Cats like Amos get your own schtick, find your own voice not Kate Bushs. Oh to late youve already made millions rippin off KB nevermind

  • i know who kate bush is, and she's a good artist, but tori definitely has her own unique story and talent, and *she* stuck it out. Kate didn't. There are plenty of artists who have similar competetors and will come out on top or continue to move parallel to other similiar artists. by the time tori got big, kate was fading away, and because she didn't step it up and show she was "better", tori won out. so don't diss tori just cuz kate didn't last and they're similar.

  • Kate Bush actually has lasted. Her fanbase is bigger than Tori Amos' - and I love Tori's music - simply because in my opinion she paved the way for the whole Lilith Fair thing. And she was so original she's pretty much incomparable. So it's bullshit to say Kate didn't last - her entire career spans over thirty years. Just because she doesn't release an album a year, doesn't mean her career was over. Kate has stuck it out, just in a different way.

  • wow its hard to belive this women had religious parents. she broke out in a big way, no more living in a bubble

  • MOST peeps have religious parents. Ministers just have a gift for gab and a bent for Show Biz, or robbery. Her dad DID take her to PERFORM in bars at a young age...

  • I have no complaints when it comes to Tori Amos, except that she's not on tour right now! It makes me very sad. I love Tori!!!

  • Comment removed

  • I love Tori, she has such a way about her.

  • If you want to complain, complain about the weird soundtrack they chose for this interview.

  • @turquoisebabies You people are idiots that are complaining about the backround music.Because it's Tori's songs w/o the words.

  • @kaliyuta is it really? all of it? some of it sounds like cheesy techno. Maybe I'm too old school. I pretty much stopped listening to Tori after To Venus+Back.... listened to Scarlett's Walk a bit. Maybe I just became an adult, got older, but I lost interest after a certain point. Boys for Pele was literally my bible as a teenager, and Choirgirl holds a very special place in my heart. Tori as a person however, no matter the music will always be a wildly spectacular+ wise woman, to be revered.

  • @turquoisebabies actually sorry, not true: i love Tori's covers record too....

  • @turquoisebabies Choirgirl is the same for me too :)

  • @turquoisebabies ya know thats probably tori just moving her hands across the keyboeard

  • @turquoisebabies ya know thats probably tori just moving her hands across the keyboeard

  • @turquoisebabies agreed. it's distracting. not terribly so, but enough.

  • Anyone who works in photo or film knows the power of lighting and high quality make up. Look at Tori in other situations and you will see she has truly aged gracefully. This piece was shot with very soft lighting, most likely even a soft focus lens, and her make up was done most likely with airbrush foundation, mineral powders, etc. Look at how good ppl look on Oprah to understand this.

Anyway, Tori is a person who owns everything she does, so be careful how righteously you start judging her.

  • you can say BS about tori all you want..hahaha doesnt matter. tori being tori wouldnt give a shit about any of that! as far as she and us fans are concerned it wouldnt bother us! TORI can do whatever she wants to do! thats her! and we love her for that. she just goes for what she wants.

  • And that's the way it should be.

  • I don't have a clue who Kate Bush is. But Tori has tons of records out and has a million original songs and messages. Tori is a true artist with her own story, issues, and messages she gives through her music.

  • Kate Bush is amazing. If you like Tori you will appreciate Kate as well....Give it a go

  • Femi-nazis strike once again. If you're all arguing about her skin then you have completely missed the point.

Honestly who cares? I didn't know Tori had to carry a torch for anything. It proves nothing except that she's prone to vanity just like the rest of us. Jesus, in a couple of years I would too and that doesn't take anything away from my ethics. There are far more important things to talk about.

  • shes so lovely:) such a calming woman :)

  • Famous people are so vain..even the most "spiritual" kind of artists seem to be materialistic to an astonishing degree. They think they are inmortal, but, guess what..their just fragile human beings. They should accept that and forget about botox!

  • Tori is a Goddess.. nothing she could do would ever make me falter from her creative vessel, hair, botox, ass lift, whatever! shes still all tori and nothing could ever change that, period.

  • She sounds and talks very differently now compared to the Tori in the early 90`s.

  • What has Tori had done to her face - botox/eye-bag removal? Combined with the wig it's kind of troubling. The same vibrant powerful soul remains, but I never thought she'd capitulate to the demands of the industry in such a graphic way. She was a beauty already and surely doesn't need to compete with any other female artist. What's going on with her?

  • It is her JOB and responsibility as an artist and public figure to "capitulate to the demands of the industry" ergo the maintenance. People hated Britney Spears when she danced at the VMA 07 looking "au natural". Like she said, she has "no illusions" on "how the music industry works".

  • So every woman should have routine surgery - is that what your saying, that that's their responsibility, to eradicate signs of the natural aging process? What a strange opinion. I always thought of Tori as something of an iconoclast, and it saddens me to see her au plastique.

  • No. Not every woman. It's a choice we all have to make. Whether it pleases you or not.

  • A choice? - a pressure more like.

  • Chill...

  • Am chilled already dear. Don't be so rude.

  • Well it's quite warm in here. You're right. Don't be so rude.

  • i think shes beautiful woman

  • If she didn't have botox (supposedly) people would be complaining about how old she looks. Can't please anyone!

  • She's brilliant, creative, and hot. Lucky man, her husband . . .

  • well she is in her 40s so i think shes looken pretty dam good, all the drugs back in the 80s do wonders for the skin!

  • Those Hazel Eyes..that soothing voice.

    I love Tori.

  • look everybody ,

    it's Shirley Mclaine reincarnated ,

oh wait she's still alive right ! ,

    oh well !

  • Tori...I've never loved you more. This was so real,it's astounding. this may make you smile (byt he way I love your smile and everything about you) Where did you get that neclace? (Just incase you won't send me yours :-)

  • so what if she had botox? It's her decision as a person. she's still a beautiful artist and composer!

  • I do not understand why this is being discussed. Really people. Who cares about if she had botox or not? ~yawn~

  • A lot more to her music, songwriting, and performances have changed over the years than her friggin face.

I think she is interestingly diplomatic about the music industry in this interview. She puts out some music that is not easily accessible by the masses. Tracy is awesome but she is not as cryptic and "rich" as Tori in her style. I wonder how Tori compromises in the biz? As in, what makes her go "Ok, I will do this to get my music out there but this is not my style."

  • damn people just watch the video. with all the talk about botox nobody seems to hear what she's saying.

  • She HAS had botox, she admitted it, and said she didn't "give a fuck what anyone thinks." As long as it doesn't affect her music, I really don't care either.

  • I really don't think Tori would reduce herself to using Botox. It just looks like she has gotten WAY too thin, and the hairstyle isn't very flattering. And remember that none of us are getting any younger.

  • woohoo, the doors!!! & i do love tori as well...

  • yeah it does look she she had botox, her face looks tight, she would look a lot younger and more beauitful if she hadnt

  • There's definitely botox going on. DAMMIT why do women live in such fear of showing any age? She was so beautiful when she was young. I think that beautiful face would age very well. She looks so weird here.

  • i think its realy strong and sexy xD

  • She looks gentle during interviews but i do not really like the way she performs on stage, to me its just so weird...

  • enough with the wig thing

  • I love Tori, but is it just me or has she been on the botox? The eyebrows don't move...

  • yeah idk i was thinking there's something weird going on there

  • why does she always wear that wig?

  • "In a strange way it works that way. When you don't want a guy, that's when he wants you. But when you want him, then, ya know, he's off with your friend."

    HAHA!! nice!!

  • "... when you don't want a guy, that's when he wants you... But when you want him, then, you know... he's off with your friend. Strange but true... (same with records!)..."

Hahahaha... I love Tori's irony because she's always gentle but at the same time it's a punch on your stomach. Hahahaha...

  • I would love to see her box.

  • Oh believe me you might NOT really want to see that ...

  • she resembles Shirley McClain--don't you think?! I think it's the new do!

  • I thought it WAS Shirley McClain!

  • She kinda does look like her

  • Such a mature and maternal soul...I adore Tori.

  • does anyone know the name of the song starting at 4:01?

  • She's talking about "Me and a Gun".

  • oh gosh did anyone well up when she was talking about the 14 yr old girl?

    gosh tori is so amazing!

  • I bookmarked this. when I first heard her, I had no idea music could sound like this. She's given me the strength the find my own voice. I'm very thankful for the shared experience - her music has made me a better person.

  • She is SO pretty...

  • Agree. Really the greatest voice.

  • she gives us her love though her music..i know that she loves us as much as we love her..she is just amazing and she has the greatest voice in this fucking world!

    adore her..x3

  • Bummer. i just heard the "H" word. Husband. Shit.

  • God I want you Tori. The bangs are kickin'...

  • Tori is very talented and she is just as engaging in interviews. One of the few singers that is just as good live as in the studio. Thanks for posting.

  • Tori, you are so serene and witty, we thank you so much for it.

  • "most people don't show up for essence"

    nice quote

  • Is she talking about the song "China" at the end, or "Winter" when she talks about the love of a father/male figure for their daughter?

  • When she talks of the video that was shot at a beach in Cornwall, she's talking about 'China'.

But at the very end when she talks of the male force/father figure with a girl, she's talking about 'Winter'.

    Both amazing songs too! :)

  • I agree with hotfukka. I have been listening to Tori since 1992 when I smuggled a walk man and "Little earthquakes" into basic training with me. Now I am still listening to her in Iraq 16 years later. She's amazing.

  • God how i love you...there is absolutely no award they can give you that can equate the feeling i get listening to your music. Love you.

  • I totally agree, her music does things to me and I love it more everyday, love the tori x

  • she is a star, seen her is concert a number of times and its just a perfect experience, im a fan forever xxxx

  • Thank you for posting these interviews...I'm subscribing to your videos.

  • Tori Forever!!!

  • i love tori i could listen to her forever

  • I could listen to this woman talk for hours without stopping. She's got the most beautiful voice and aura about her. She's gorgeous.

  • Wow, she looks so beautiful, and she has the most beautiful personality as well^^

  • Hasn't anyone noticed she's much more into fashion now, her image, being slim, etc.? She wasn't like this before!! she's one of my favorite singers, but she has fallen into this media inspired "style" of being. Look at her older pictures and you'll see a change. I adore her though and always will respect her and her work! it's intelligent and well-thought.

  • That is true, she is a lot more interested in how she looks now, but whatever, her last album was her best imho so she can look however she wants, it doesn't bother me.

  • I agree, but I also think the fact that she actually lets herself be influenced by the media can become hypocritical, at least theoretically. I mean, I saw her interview in Finland and she looked anorexic. What the hell? that is so not like her...or used to be.

  • just say no to plastic surgery

  • this interview is truly powerful. aside from the record label look she has on, her words, which are so simple, are so powerful and life changing. even with the new music/look, she's still able to bring you to joyous and informative tears

  • Tori, she is a wonder.

Her songs are inspirational and she puts real problems with her or the world, and puts them into a work of art.

    Love ya Tori!

  • no offense - but i can't stand when fans of any artist make such ignorant statements like "i miss the old ____."

Grow up, people change, and so will you. It's been over 15 years since her 1st release. She was a girl, now she's a woman. if you can't respect age and wisdom, then at LEAST don't post such stupid comments.

  • mmmm. i don't think she's had that much work done. botox at the most. i think its really just a bad choice of eye makeup and hair.

  • she is so fucking hot

  • i think we should listen to what she's saying and what she's singing rather than speculate on what surgery she's had that being said... i think sometimes plastic surgery is not always for the best... there's a beauty to naturally aging!!!

  • Her hair and look even her eyes look like Raggedy Ann!

  • You are obsessed with her, hm?

  • Not hair, WIG... ShareBeardummy

  • This is a really good interview, and the splicing is perfect.

  • Does anyone care what you think of her hair? No.

  • The music an the personality that matters.

Yes I saw that her face looks stranger. I saw her during The Beekeeper tour and now during Posse tour. Strange...

  • When you see her live it actually makes sense though. You see the way her body motions work with her face and she just looks distinctly...Tori. And youtube doesn't count either because none of the youtube videos show what her live performances are actually like.

  • I agree! I guess I wasn't fully prepared when I saw her at a little venue in 2001. She walked on stage and waved and began playing straight away and I started crying my eyes out! LOL! But so were five other people in the row. LOL!

  • She has such a beautiful and calming persona. her advice comes straight from the heart. A perfect motherly figure in my eyes. What a beautiful and enchanting person she is.. I wish she could speak forever..

  • Yes! Calming, indeed. Very nice comment, it sums up my thoughts, too....

  • How Sad for you StinkMouse (rat)

Ameriandollposse is her most amazing work in years!!!

I got My Botox Jabs Last week and i look hot.

    Way to go Tori

    x

  • You guys are crazy, she OBVIOUSLY HAS HAD work done, any follower of her since 1990 can see that. I understand her wanting to stay youthful but her surgery has definitely changed her. Her eye lift is all wrong, it's changed the angle of her eyes. I'm 27 and I have SOME lines beneath my eyes, so don't tell me she looks the same when the skin around her eyes is that tight! She still is awesome and I have mad respect for her and her music, but I refuse to listen to anything post Choirgirl Hotel.

  • i totally agree with you.. but the point is... who cares about what she looks like..

  • Tori Amos is one of the most interesting, intelligent, and articulate women in music today. I love this interview. I have not come across many musicians who are as engaging, sweet and beautiful. I adore her and find her very inspiring.

  • she was the princess of my life at the end of 90s. I remember that ı was listening her first 2 albums over 6 hours of each day. it cont. for 6 years then suddenly ı leaved to listen her and never listen her again.

  • How sad for you.. :( Why did you decide remove her from your life?

  • all of you haters steer clear. Tori is one of the most amazing human beings to ever enlighten us with her music. She looks exactly the same as ever. ADP is "dolls" of course, and each interview she chooses a difference doll. She IS wearing a wig, but she is Tori.

  • Thank you for sharing this with us, I could listen to her talk for hours, she's so insightful, and marriage/motherhood has brought her down to earth a bit which helps me to understand her better.

  • oh please.... she's gorgeous! physically, mentally and spiritually... she is 'artist' and she changes and develops... keep up ;) thank the gods for her!

  • My god! What has she done to herself?

  • I think the strange eye thing is just a make up mistake! All that eye liner is very 60's!

  • or she is trying to "look" like the doll posse concept, a doll's eyes?

  • prophet of the devil?she has been saying that for years.

  • no....seriously....did she do something? i mean...plastic sergery?

  • her eyes look strange...

  • Tori is pretty hot. She is interesting too.

  • OMG you're right...Shirley MacLaine! Good catch! (not that that's a bad thing, either...Shirley was pretty in a very unusual and arresting sort of way.)

    Great interview--thanks for posting.

  • she is amazing...i love how she pronounces "everybody"

  • i would say "me and a gun."

  • She talked about MAAG earlier.

  • Ohhhh! Of course, now I realize what you are referring to. I do think it is Winter. I adore Tori and think she's gorgeous...but in this wig I think sh seems to be channeling Shirley McLaine

  • What's the song she talks about at the end, is it Winter?

  • Yes, definitely. :)

  • Youre funny Tori, Lovit.

  • She's so wise and sexy. Love her.

  • Loved it! Thanks!
