Thanks for posting this. I bought a mood ring at Smitty's back in the middle 1970's which I still have. I truly appreciate your videos of Clinton. It's a great walk down Memory Lane!
Beth, thanks so much for watching! There are many current and former Clintonians who have been watching these videos; it was great to come back home and take a few walks around town. It's still a beautiful city.
Lovely memories, Giovanna! My grandmother's house, in the woods in Minnesota, had no electricity until the 1960s; the house warmed up with the wood-burning stove in the kitchen and we would boil water in a tea kettle and pour it down the hand-pump outside to "prime" it and get the water unfrozen so we could pump fresh well water. These memories are precious, yes? Seasons Greetings to you! xxooJay
Bi-Centennial RiverKing grad now displaced in Phoenix, Arizona...haven't been 2 Clinton for 4 yrs., haven't been back to the QC for 3 as of next month, kinda homesick...not for the snow tho LOL
Bryan, I'm glad we connected here on YouTube! I was a bit homesick, too, and glad I went back for a visit. I agree with you 100% on the snow thing (and the SLUSH in Iowa). :>)
Are you a Clintonian, Bryan??!! I had completely forgotten the Smitty's nickname. Wow!!! (And do we know one another from C-town? Jay, Clinton High, Class of '70?)

These kind of old general store make me feel
a huge tenderness.
Especially the jub and the basin, remember me
my grandpa's house.
When i was a kid, during my summer vacation, I took "the shower" by them.
It's a so sweet memory.
