  • are you able to show set up cable and set up of ham radio deluxe

    thank you

  • ADMS is software developed by R T Systems for Yaesu radios. It looks like a spreadsheet and you basically just type in the freq, and the rest is drop-down info that you select. It is super easy to put freqs in the radios. Plus, the newer version radios and software are cross-compatible, so my freqs and setting for my FT-60 could easily go into an FT-857.

  • @steveinkentucky Thank you for the information Steve 73 G4MOF..

  • I am glad somebody did a general video on using the 857 with HRD. On the frequency entry & tones, can you download that to the radio, or do you need software such as ADMS?

  • @steveinkentucky I'm not sure what ADMS is to be honest this video is near over a year old now I have a new version I can make a new video if you want when I made this It was sort of new to me I was just using the data lead since then I have learnt a lot more I use it mostley for Satellite tracking the ISS and packet radio it's a great system if you need any help send me a comment 73 Mel..

  • "The synth voice gets annoying after a while"?

NOOOOOO! How many nanoseconds can you put up with it? ;-)

That's one seriously powerful piece of software, HRD. I am about to get immersed in it myself.

Thanks for the video and 73!

  • @VK2BEN Thanks Ben I have a better version now and a dedicated computer running XP just for HRD 73 Mel

    are FT857D a good radio?

I'am planing to buy one. and then i want to leave the radio at home and take the faceplate with me.. are that possible?

  • @nicklaslindgard sure you could take the faceplate any where, you cant listen or transmit but hey just tell everyone its a really cool harmonica

  • @halcyon180

The FT-897D does not have a detachable faceplate.

  • @travburg1 yes I know the FT-897D doesnt have a detachable.... but the radio that we were talking about was the FT-857D. I dont even know who even brought up the 897.

  • @nicklaslindgard on a serious note, no you will need the radio to use it

  • @nicklaslindgard Yes the faceplate is detachable on the FT857 and it's an excellent radio!

  • @G4MOF yes, and i got the radio now. :=) realy good radio and good sound. :)
