Obviously this Dying Informant only appeared in THIS pilot. However, for some strange reason, in the Case of the Cribbed Crater, the Dying Informant was played by some other male actor.
Obviously this Dying Informant only appeared in THIS pilot. However, for some strange reason, in the Case of the Cribbed Crater, the Dying Informant was played by some other male actor. (but it's not because of Rockapella on "unavailable", as Mrs. Pumpkinclanger was there, and Rockapella was seen in the intro)
I could not help but laugh that the one guy picked the Vatican for his answer. I highly doubt that the Pope allows gambling in the Vatican (which is what the guy is suggesting by picking it for the answer). I guess they did not want to make it too obvious by saying something like the late Grace Kelly married the crown prince of the country.
Not much has changed here since the first pilot. Things seems to be a little more organized with when to conduct interviews & sound effects being in sync. Some clues are being tried for the first time & their execution is spectacular, except for the dying informant which looked a bit fake. Greg's presentation and ad-libbing is top notch here. Things seem like there flowing smoothly but not perfect; the scoring system is still debatable on whether it works or not. I would say: A OK so far.
The Disoriented Express is also the name of a Nancy Drew graphic Novel (however this came first) I've always wondered are Double Trouble conjoined twins?
I had thought they used the 125/subtracting points method first, then changed to 50/adding points method. I didn't know they on occasion alternated, although as I understand it this was just for the early episodes.
I'm not sure if you meant it but it came off as a little rude. I had originally posted, that I didn't realize the starting points alternated. Now I know that the two episodes that started with 125 & subtracted points were the two taped pilot episodes. They really aren't #58 and #62 to be taped.
This is actually the second pilot episode from Season One. I'm not sure why they had the scoring system like that, but it was changed soon thereafter to the more familiar scoring system.
Yeah, that's pretty gutsy for a kid's show. These days, that would probably be censored or prohibited, and adult TV is extremely violent. We need to go back to the 90s
Who thinks this should come out on DVD?
Vote up!

But it's not because of Rockapella being unavailable, because Mrs. Pumpkinclanger was there, and Rockapella was seen in the intro.

I'm glad they re-did the Chief's outfit and makeup. This version is not flattering at all.

What I meant was, you lost points whether you were wrong or not.
palmercomm 3 years ago
Sorry about that. Perhaps it would have been better to include the word "points" or say "the contestant(s)" instead of "you".

You could say that with the TGV, the Gumshoes were undergoing some real hardcore "train"-ing.

Is this an early season. If so, what is with the confusing scoring system.
