My Mom was named Laverne and she passed away November 2007, at 49 from breast cancer. She was absolutely gorgeous and she would have liked this song. :) Looking for Laverne??? I guess in a way... she's been found lol

@hahadarrie - Thank you for getting in touch and for your moving words. I have a feeling that, from now on, I will think of your Mom Laverne when I sing it or hear the song. I put a song here on youtube, a cover of 'For the good times', in memory of my own mother, who we lost in 1998. A mother's love for her child is a wonderful legacy that never dies.
