Why are there images of viking gods if the name is 'Therion', a Greek god?

@laurensDG The name of the band is greek and means "beast", that's not a god. Why the pictures of nordic gods: Just read the lyrics. They speak of runes, Odin, Thor, Frey and a "kabbalah upsalica" (meaning kabbalah from "uppsala" which is an old city in sweden). The lyrics are written by Thomas Karlsson, the founder of the magical order "Dragon Rouge", which explores nordic mythology. The title of this song is Gothic Kabbalah, meaning the Kabbalah of the gothic tribes.

@laurensDG The former name of the band was "Megatherion" which means "Great Beast". This is the beast which is mentioned in the greek bible (revelation of john/apocalypse). Most people would equate it with satan or the devil. The order "Dragon Rouge" is so to speak satanic. The dragon became another symbol for the devil, and in the ancient european cultures the dragon was a very important symbol (e.g. viking ships with dragon-heads, or the welsh flag).

@laurensDG another reason for the band-name could be the magician aleister crowley, who called himself "mega therion 666". it's not so important, that the band name is related to nordic mythology. it probably is indirectly connected with it. the lyrics are clearly related and the dragon-rouge-background makes it self-evident, why they sing about odin.

@GrayFoxShadow777 i think they refer to the gog in the revelation (bible): "And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea."

and ezekiel: "Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him" "Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal" etc.
