  • This song is great. Keeps me calm, beautiful

  • I personally don't think that Emmy's voice is quite strong enough for Christine, in my opinion, it is too sweet and childlike. I'm not saying that she can't sing, but there are definitely plenty of other actresses who would have died to have this part and would have probably done a better job. Preferably someone who had been in a Broadway or other such production previously. . I really don't understand why the casters would have thought that she was really the only choice for the role...

  • i just love this song

  • I like this song!!!!

  • No way Sarah Brightman does not over do it! She was the first one to do it, I mean Andrew Lloyd Webber wrote the play just for her and he wasn't going to publish it wthout her because she is a proffesional.

  • @jillywilson yes but Sarah Brightman sounds like the typical, unoriginal opera singer. and a movie/musical like this doesn't require an overpowering part for Christine. that would be why Collatta (i dunno how to spell it) is such a contrast. because Christine is *supposed* to have a beautiful, calming voice. and there are parts where she sings plenty powerful. when she NEEDS to. it's called inflection.

  • What does that rose with the black ribbon mean? Where is it from?

  • It's from the Phantom

  • But what is it the symbol of?

  • Symbol of the Phantom.

  • one of the most beautiful songs ever written! along with "all i ask of you"=)

  • and music of the night, ' close your eyes, let your soul to soar...'. As well as 'wishing you are here somehow again' ;)

  • why did you cut raul's part from it?

  • this works really well! although she loves raoul and wants to stay with him, i think she really does care for the phantom, even if those feelings aren't quite love. i'm sure she wants him to find his happiness somehow, and there must be some part that was sad to say goodbye. the last scene in the movie always makes me cry...

  • thanks! i absolutely agree with you, she spent years with the phantom so she surely couldn't say just "well, ok, i'll never see you again but i don't mind". i believe she felt something

  • @gokyokitty yeah, i totaly agree with you but why would she reveal him at the theater when they were singing?why did she take his mask of?

  • i like emmy's version, sarah is good, but i like emmy better. just my opinion

  • i like it but im only watching this because i have to study it for my voice lessons... but i really loved it

  • i love this movie!

shes a beautiful singer, good vid =3

  • I always thought it was a nice song until the ending part when she does that "hahaha haha." crap. Didn't go well with the rest of it in my opinion.

  • lol Emmy didn't do a good job with that did she? I think Sarah did a much better job with that part

  • great! job well done!

  • thanks!!

  • im not bein mean but she sounds very normal & boring & looks it too. sarah brightman sings this song great.

  • if you think....

but i like more emmy rossum's version.

  • I agree, Sarah has more of an opera voice than Emmy

  • i think sarah brightman overdoes the song. she makes it hard to understand, and just overdone. i like emmy's version. it sounds clear and young and plainly beautiful.

  • @jhallagnetha86 ...were you intoxicated when you said that? i'm guessing you're a woman.
