i think the anime was kinda a tease to the manga. after i finished watching the anime i thought of continuing with the manga but i had to just start from the beginning.

Well, I've got up to volume 31 in the manga. I also have all 6 discs of the anime. I love both. If you have time to read the manga, get it. Just know it's ongoing. The anime ends around where volume 12 starts I think, not completely sure. The anime does happen to leave out a couple important scenes the manga goes over, but both experiences are amazing. I personally enjoyed the Japanese dub and the development of the characters in the anime.

So true! It was a great thing about manga - while you could read it quickly cause most of the written text was "BAM!" "CLING!" "ARRRGH" ;p, it still had this... well, this deep background that made you go through 100 pages of fighting and then 1 sentence could be like an alarm in your head "Wow.. darn, that's something to think about..."
banned? what? I'm pretty sure that it was poor founding that canceled the show. that and the fact that the author is focusing on one story (the manga) instead of two. Why would they ban this? makes no sense, its not china you know.
I'm pretty sure they planned it to end at that point, it wasn't banned or under-funded, It's just the type of story that is going to take a looong time to finish and can't end at any other point than this, it wouldn't be reasonable to continue the anime. But, I think it should've at least gone a bit past the eclipse to give the viewers a little hope.
To all of you who liked the anime i have only one advise - read the MANGA. It's at least 3-4 times better and the anime is just 7 volumes from 32 volumes currently manga. And the reason why they stopped the anime is because the author of the manga forbid any further series. The reason - in the anime they censored too much, removed some of the most important heroes like Pukk or the Skull Knight, whole chapters where removed too, some important moments are missing...etc.
Not really into Evanescence but the song and vid went pretty well with it. I'd say Gatsu and Caska make possibly the best coupling in anime. The way the berserk anime ended was really tragic. At least Miura isn't leaving it at that with continuing the manga.
@TherealHaaku i think your right... since after the eclipse things really get bloody and i dont think america or any other country will broadcast it cause of the gore and stuff... a shame... but then again why did they make those couple of screenshots... of casca, guts and puck? or can it be fan art?
Certainly hope they make more anime for the rest of the story. On a random note, over all the Band of the Hawk story arc, I always liked how Guts' sheath (or however its spelled O_o) looked like a devil's tail.

I have read all the manga and am waiting for the 316th chapter to be translated. I know that they leave quite a lot out in the anime, but it would be really difficult to summarize all that material very well, and they did a good job with what they had. It would have been hard to introduce Puck and then do absolutely nothing with him since they knew they wouldn't be advancing past the golden age arc. In fact, they have announced a new anime that will progress the story...
I hope they don't skip it, not because I get my jollies watching rape, but because such heinous acts (and the repercussions of those acts) demonstrate what a truly horrible world Guts and Caska live in.

Not really into Evanescence but the song and vid went pretty well with it. I'd say Gatsu and Caska make possibly the best coupling in anime. The way the berserk anime ended was really tragic. At least Miura isn't leaving it at that with continuing the manga.

think that a secod season wont be made.. especially because after the eclipse things get a lot darker.
Next to that the berserk anime left out alot of the orginal stuff from the manga to make it able to broadcast on tv

Certainly hope they make more anime for the rest of the story. On a random note, over all the Band of the Hawk story arc, I always liked how Guts' sheath (or however its spelled O_o) looked like a devil's tail.

@AOPrinciple the anime is full of sh*t. they even skipped the part where guts got raped by some dude... (gambino sold him for one night, u know, when guts was with him and he was still alive... guts was a kid at the time. that's the reason guts overreacts when people touch him.)

I have read all the manga and am waiting for the 316th chapter to be translated. I know that they leave quite a lot out in the anime, but it would be really difficult to summarize all that material very well, and they did a good job with what they had. It would have been hard to introduce Puck and then do absolutely nothing with him since they knew they wouldn't be advancing past the golden age arc. In fact, they have announced a new anime that will progress the story...
