  • I need as much prayer as possible requesting that The Lord will continue to provide for our children to attend their Christian school, in Jesus' Name.

  • God bless these sons of God. 2 Thessalonians 2:15

So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught, whether by word of mouth or by letter from us.

  • Great video!

  • The other thing: some kanawha county students were then sent to the catholic school, (the county was predominantly protestant) and the parents did not know enough about what the catholic school taught their children about the protestants and the area (that they were crazy, "heretics," and so on). So, in an effort to send them somewhere "Christian" the kids were even more horrified and scared, told they were "heretics," and 'unsaved," and so on in the religious classes.

  • Also, yankees came down from the cities to rabble rouse and make their point, figuring they could politicize "poor white trash." Also, just through "projective introjection" the kids had to be interacted with as if they were some sick thing. And this is after LBJ's "war on west virginia,' when all the "missionaries" showed up, (northeast catholics and so on). So much for a free country of conscience.

  • This video just threw me back into the 60's when these radical, militant, openly racist Christian parents attacked cultural tolerance. Shame on those that made this video and the parents that raised them in an Kanawha County environment.

    Disgusting.

  • @nettytek As someone who went to those wv schools, I thank people who tried to help us students stay away from books that were frightening to me as a student. As an adult now, I know I have no obligation to take in anyone else's pain, public narratives, histories, group mythologies, or to be the target of hate (which my parents paid to have me hear via their taxes). I dropped out. Then went out of state to school. Some people could not do that.

  • @nettytek yes... it is. Kids who had to read things that made them uncomfortable are adults today. The "left: did not give a damn about what they did to kids. They still don't. But those kids grew up and did not appreciate what was done. They are political b/c of it, and those demoralized to the point of not partaking of political process in their own country---are coming back. Who do you think you are? You did not teach "tolerance," but control, fear, discomfort and more.

  • Was a 2nd grader in Chesapeake that year. Remember this and that I was one of the few who were in school. There were a few instances when bricks were thrown into windows of the school. And I remember the picket lines.

  • @SGNorman "Reading Appalachia From Left to Right" by Carol Mason is about this and helped process what we had to read. Finally made me feel people had fought for my rights as a kid. Also, there were bombings and more. I left---and am glad I could go out of state to finish high school, anyway. The book was helpful in processing some of the things I later had to learn in college (which was what they were trying to put in more of in my public school. 60s/70s didn't give a damn 4 kids.

  • Satan isn't going to give the schools back. This is all part of his master plan. Before Satan can set up his One World Government he had to start the public school system so he could start brainwashing the general public. Now after years of brainwashing and indoctrination the American public has become totally doltish. They all just accept as fact that the Earth is billions of years old. What is amazing is Satan's control over the American teachers. They don't even care about our children.

  • @ElProximo

"the branches were for the purpose of getting them to mate."

    - Quote that passage.

"You made a mistake. You decided that the branches must have been for the animals to 'look at' and that was what made them 'striped'."

    - Then why did Jacob make "the rest face the streaked and dark-colored animals that belonged to Laban" (Genesis 30:40)? Why was it so important that the branches "be directly in front of the flocks when they came to drink" (Genesis 30:38 & 41)?

  • @ElProximo

No, I've know about Mendel since I started dealing with creationists (about 4 years or so). I also like to get my facts straight before I post, something creationists never seem to bother with.

The Theory of Evolution is based on the observation of real things, otherwise it wouldn't be a theory.

But since you like Wikipedia, why don't you go there and read the "Theory of Evolution" article.

  • @ElProximo

You seem to have a need to project your failings onto others.

Jacob bred the patterns onto the animals by showing the pregnant animals various patterns cut into branches (Genesis 30:37-39). Those he thought were weaker the showed darker colours to so that Laban would get them (Genesis 30:40-42).

    READ!

  • @ElProximo

I see you have poor reading skills AND extremely poor logic.

How exactly does putting "the peeled branches in all the watering troughs, so that they would be directly in front of the flocks", "queue the animals into breeding"?

The advantage I have is that I can quote directly to support my arguement. You cannot.

  • @ElProximo

Why don't you just go to an encyclopedia and look up "theory of evolution", because you seem to be projecting "Creationism" onto it.

"no it does nothing but contradict what we actually observe about randomly occurring variation (and especially mutations)"

    - How?

"But the Creationist Priest Mendel did found Genetics for us so that did actually help us with reality."

    - Mendel was a monk, not a priest. The Theory of Evolution also helps us with reality, and genetics are a part of it.

  • @ElProximo

"Millenniums are made up of centuries" and centuries are made up of years; years are made up of days; days are made up of hours; hours are made up of minutes; and minutes are made up of seconds.

I guess by your logic we could say, "Farming has been going on for seconds." and there would be no difference, right?

  • @ElProximo

    Genesis 30:42-43

but if the animals were weak, he would not place them there. So the weak animals went to Laban and the strong ones to Jacob. In this way the man grew exceedingly prosperous and came to own large flocks, and female and male servants, and camels and donkeys.

Where exactly does it "clearly states that they knew to breed 'stripe with stripe' to breed out stripes"?

  • @ElProximo

    Genesis 30:40-41

Jacob set apart the young of the flock by themselves, but made the rest face the streaked and dark-colored animals that belonged to Laban. Thus he made separate flocks for himself and did not put them with Laban’s animals. Whenever the stronger females were in heat, Jacob would place the branches in the troughs in front of the animals so they would mate near the branches,

  • Genesis 30:37-39

Jacob, however, took fresh-cut branches from poplar, almond and plane trees and made white stripes on them by peeling the bark and exposing the white inner wood of the branches. Then he placed the peeled branches in all the watering troughs, so that they would be directly in front of the flocks when they came to drink. When the flocks were in heat and came to drink, they mated in front of the branches. And they bore young that were streaked or speckled or spotted.

  • @ElProximo

"The Theory of Evolution (common ancestor story) does NOT 'explain' anything."

    - Except how differential reproductive success on randomly occuring variation leads to divergent lines of descent (or "how evolution happens").

"science" isn't "truth". Science is the investigation of natural phenomena through observation, theoretical explanation, and experimentation, or the knowledge produced by such investigation.

Creationism is fantasy, but the Theory of Evolution is science.

  • @ElProximo

"Genesis has one of the earliest accounts of livestock being deliberately 'evolved' (breeding)."

    - Yes, Genesis 30:37-43 clearly states that if you show stripes or spots to mating cows, they will have striped or spotted calves. As accurate as anything else in the Bible.

"Farming has been going on for centuries."

    - Millennia. Thousands of years before when Young Earth Creationists claim the Earth was spoken into existance.

  • yes i home school, and in one of her books. Joy hakin. fill of lies. about U.S.A and God.

  • Interesting subject. Thanks for the upload!

  • Evolution is being passed off as science. These textbooks are lying to the kids in an attempt to get them to believe that evolution is a scientific theory.

A theory, to be considered scientific, must be adequately defined. But nobody knows what a 'species' is.

  • @InternetDisciple

Evolution is a fact because the non-random survival of randomly occuring variations in a population over successive generations leading to divergent lines of decent has been know for thousands of years.

The THEORY of Evolution is science because it explains how these variations occur and propagate.

I TOLD you the definition of what a species is a few days ago, but you didn't bother to read it. Such is the way of the creationist.

  • @Atriviality

    "Evolution is a fact because..."

It is a nice story, but is there any evidence for this statement?

"The THEORY of Evolution is science..."

It cannot be considered science until it is adequately defined. Even you admit that people cannot even tell if a population qualifies as a separate species or not.

Do you have anything besides heartfelt declarations?

    "I TOLD you the definition..."

I don't think that you did. At least, I can't seem to find it.

  • @Atriviality

That should read: 'Even you admit that people can only sometimes tell if a population is a separate species or not.'

  • @InternetDisciple In biology, a species is one of the basic units of biological classification and a taxonomic rank. A species is often defined as a group of organisms capable of interbreeding and producing fertile offspring. While in many cases this definition is adequate, more precise or differing measures are often used, such as similarity of DNA, morphology or ecological niche. Presence of specific locally adapted traits may further subdivide species into subspecies.
