@CheekyMouseMous3 in Soul Calibur II, there was a character exclusive to every system that it came out on (PS2, Gamecube and Xbox). The PS2 version had Heihachi from the Tekken series, the Gamecube had Link, and the Xbox had Spawn.
Spawn was always sort of random to me. He wasn't even promoting anything new that was Spawn related. My only guess was his green and black matching the Xbox color scheme. Link was the greatest of all three, in my opinion.
@PsychoTeenAlchemist Gratz to you for noticing. A lot of people have no idea who she is. I knew she was Amy after the first time I played Raphael's Arcade story and read his profile. She's one of my best fighters in 3 where she's an unlockable bonus character
I remember when I first got this game, I swore up and down that I would master Link and conquer all with him. I ended up falling in love with Talim's character and now she's the only person I ever use.
@Kairia626 Nightmare, Cervantes, and Link are my top 3. Sophitia is at number 4, followed by Taki, Sung Mina, and bringing up the rear: Ivy, at 7th place. I'm sorry to say, but as much as I like her, she's too overpowered for the size of the sword she uses. I have a similar gripe with Zasalamel in 3 because he's too fast for having such a large weapon

Not to mention, Soul Calibur 2 has some of the most messed up breast physics. even in this intro, Taki and Ivy just kinda jiggle all over the place.
But, setting female degradation aside, Soul Calibur is my favorite fighting game series, and 2 is by far my favorite. I can't count 4 cuz I haven't played that one yet

Men in games and cartoons are over macho, have abs and big biceps (like Chris Redfield in RE5) compare to real world, real men have a big beer belly. Same with women, of course the women here are hot, especially Ivy (yum)... They had big boobies and unbelievable curves... In real life, well hookers have big boobs but it's fake....

its amazing how the GC version of Soul Calibur 2 was more popular than the other 2 different console versions, just because this version had Link as a guest character.
soul calibur is basically your other fighting game, but it revolves around martial arts weapons. for soul calibur 2, each console had a 'guest' character. Nintendo had link.

@ddritg I know this is quite a while late, but I would still like to say, you just might be wrong. I bet I could give you a hell of a run for your money with nightmare, or yoshimitsu. I could make nightmare dance like a mofo, and yoshi has a time to heal in almost every situation. lol My brother used to get so pissed when i used yoshimitsu. XD

@hEINRICh6669 There is no fun in button mashing. No new player could ever beat me in Tekken or Street Fighter 3. However, my 5-year old cousin beat me at this game on his first play, after I had it for like 4 months, playing it regularly. The reason? Spamming certain attacks wins the game by itself. I tried technique and finesse, but that doesn't work against a Nightmare spamming attacks. Parrys are almost impossible to do here (as opposed to what you have in 3, where they're actually feasable).
@Owneador1337 Mhm, sure. Well, I'll keep on playing it and calling it one of the best fighter games ever. And you can continue getting beat by your cousin. It's an outstanding good game, and the only on where sidestepping counts for anything.
@hEINRICh6669 SC2 is way too fast. The guard breaks are too hard to do to be feasable for 95% of the people. Nightmare kills you in 3 hits. Mitsurugi is as slow as him and is as strong as Talim, needing to land like 15 hits to kill you. 60-70%of the game's characters are "mash buttons = win"; just like Eddy in Tekken 3. Only there are 2-3 "Eddy" characters in Tekken, not 15, and those 15 are far more imbalanced that Eddy.
As for the side stepping, SC3 has it as well, and it's more balanced.

I know...Soul calibur looked awesome until they screwed with the design. In SC4, it looks like some high school kid made it in shop class or something :|

@hEINRICh6669 You fucking wish, man. You fucking wish. This is the worst in the series by far. A roster of 20 "Eddys". Senseless button mashing and air combos draining 70% of your life bar while you can't even move. Just like Tekken 5. Crap.
The older AND the newer ones are much more slow-paced and have a much more technical game-style; just like Tekken 3 and Soul Blade.

I bet you're the kind of person that follow tiers and shit when you're playing fighting games, and blame your characters weak stats regardless which character you use. Just try to enjoy it, when you start analysing the crap out of a game, it kind of dies.

@hEINRICh6669 No. I don't follow shit tiers. Never did. I consider them to be extremely nerdish; and most of the time I totally destroy everyone with characters that are theorically "low tier".
But yes, I analyze the games. I don't read about them on the internet.

@hEINRICh6669 There is no fun in button mashing. No new player could ever beat me in Tekken or Street Fighter 3. However, my 5-year old cousin beat me at this game on his first play, after I had it for like 4 months, playing it regularly. The reason? Spamming certain attacks wins the game by itself. I tried technique and finesse, but that doesn't work against a Nightmare spamming attacks. Parrys are almost impossible to do here (as opposed to what you have in 3, where they're actually feasable).

@hEINRICh6669 SC2 is way too fast. The guard breaks are too hard to do to be feasable for 95% of the people. Nightmare kills you in 3 hits. Mitsurugi is as slow as him and is as strong as Talim, needing to land like 15 hits to kill you. 60-70%of the game's characters are "mash buttons = win"; just like Eddy in Tekken 3. Only there are 2-3 "Eddy" characters in Tekken, not 15, and those 15 are far more imbalanced that Eddy.
As for the side stepping, SC3 has it as well, and it's more balanced.
