@ReverendSyn - I don't think that's the case. The truth of the matter is that comedy is a young man's game. Can you name a few, if any, comedians who were anywhere near as funny past age 40 than when they were younger? Bill Cosby. Lost it decades ago. George Carlin. Great in the 1980's and earlier...not after. Steve Martin? One response: 'Bowfinger'. Adam Sandler. I don't even remember the last funny thing he did, but it was somewhere around Happy Gilmore.

@fullbag50 I'd say Carlin was great up until his last 2 or 3 HBO specials where he was still at least good. Bill Cosby's as funny as he ever was, it's just that comedy has changed since he was a young man and he never really adapted to it. Acting in general seems to be the young man's game; now there are a limited number of roles to play even for a really good actor like Tom Hanks, but he's still done some good lighthearted fair with Catch me if you Can, and (depending on opinion) The Terminal.
