  • Lol, cool song and great interview.

  • Sandy Fury is now a crazy actress at Santa Monica College. Like CRAZY!

  • i remember new wave theater also night flight

  • true,New wave theater was THE BEST in late night viewing in the early 80's.The music was raw and real, powerful la punk.

  • Raw, real. I'm sorry but I just don't see any of that raw energy in today's music. Did this band have any releases?

  • @5050NM Check out J-FryParnell than

  • New Wave Theater was the greatest music/culture show in the history of television. It was like broadcasting Woodstock live.

  • Sandy is great! A good friend and very talented woman!

  • Sandy rules!!!

  • 12345 !!!

  • bring back new wave theatre

  • I can't find any info on this band but they totally fit into the whole late 70's early to mid 80's power pop/pop punk sound that I love and attempt to emulate. Anyone have any info on this band?

  • It sticks in my mind when Ivers asked a lead screamer after a number, "What is the meaning of life?" The band member thought for a second n got aggressive. "STAY GAY!" Ivers asked, "Do you believe in GOD?" "YEAH THERE'S A GOD! HE'S GAY! STAY GAY!"

  • Who is Sandy Fury and why is she so mad? Yes, but Joan Jett was born pissed off it seems, and she sings and writes and plays pretty well. Not so sure about this teenage runaway.

  • peter iver's interviews are amazing

  • "we come to you for food and shelter and all we get is helter skelter"....PLEASE...ANYBODY GOT THESE RECORDINGS?????

  • Hey look , it's Joan Jett's Mini-Me!

The second song is actually really really good!

  • What's the name of the song?

  • Just try and guess...

  • That didn't get me very far, so I asked.

  • I saw this segment on late night TV back in the day. Loved New Wave Theatre.

  • before this video, sandy fury was in an all girl band by the name of 'the orchids'. she was 13 (yup, 13) at the time. One of her band mates was laurie mcAllister formerly of 'the runaways' (post runaways break-up in '79). the orchids had one flopper release. Who knows what miss fury is doin these days?

  • @laurenszoo

flopper is a funny word. I love this band. How do you end up in a abnd with a runaway when you're only thirteen?

  • kickass... did they ever record?

  • She looks like a young version of Rosie O'Donnell. Good music though.

  • she's 14 here?

    no fukin way!

  • Damn! So good! Sandy Fury is tough! Love this! Thanks for the post!

  • I'd really like to know the story behind this band...
