A scared young man choses to flee a confrontation with an officer who is responding to a mental health call.The young man flees into a wooded area but stops running at the pursuing officers request just to talk.The officer gets out mace and handcuffs. The man flees again and is assulted from behind and tackled. The man struggles. No whitnesses. He is now charged with felony assult in upstate New york.
If you looked at it from the cops eyes, he was walking forward, sees a cyclist to the left, tries to run forward to prevent getting hit then it looks like the guys tryna run him over. From this angle the cop looks in the wrong though. It's not like these guys weren't being assholes either, they're only human and are gonna take their rage out on something.
The cop was looking directly at the cyclist - the cyclist was not on a collision course with the cop - the cop even had to lengthen his stride to make contact with the cyclist - this was a deliberate assault. I am astonished the jury in this case found him not guilty of assault. An assault such as this could have resulted in the death of the cyclist - this was reckless bahviour on the part of the cop.

Was it necessary to push him off the bike? Well he was trying to evade the cop and at the last moment steered right into Pogan. It's a split-second decision but if I'm Pogan and it's me or the CMasshole, guess who is going down. Dude, this is what CM is all about, provoking people into reactions. You take guys with limited education and a penchant for being a "tough guy" (i.e. the type who walks with his arms slightly out from each side), give them a badge and a gun and turn them loose to bully people. He had absolutely no right to do it. Just because you hate "liberals" (which, btw, most critical mass protesters are anarchists or socialists, not liberals) does not mean you should stand behind some asshole in a cop uniform. Was it necessary to push him off the bike? Well he was trying to evade the cop and at the last moment steered right into Pogan. It's a split-second decision but if I'm Pogan and it's me or the CMasshole, guess who is going down. Dude, this is what CM is all about, provoking people into reactions. That's why so many of them carry cameras and why 19/20 videos about CM on YouTube are about confrontations. They carry cameras because they may get harassed. It's the same reason lots of protesters and others involved with the government carry cameras and voice recorders. Evidence is a good thing. If the authorities had evidence of Pogan's claims they wouldn't have let off Long. They didn't so Long was let not charged. You've got no evidence besides Pogan's word... why is that better then clear video evidence and the word's of others? Even the court is against you.

If a man picks up his bike as a weapon that's completely different than someone running their bike into something accidentally or being pushed off. You ever ride a bike? Ever fall off one? No one is going to put up a bike vs a car. The car will always win and no one in the car is going to be harmed. And why do you assume i'm in CM? Either way, why was it necessary to push him off the bike? All he had to do was grab him if he was that close. The cop was wrong. NYPD knows it, the cop knows it. He made a mistake. A really stupid one. And now he's pushing pencils instead of walking his beat. He'll think twice before doing shit like that again...hopefully. People are stupid.

How convenient that they don't show what caused BOTH cops to run towards the cyclist. What did the cyclist do that is not shown on the tape? Or did you think that BOTH cops suddenly decided to pursue someone randomly out of the hundreds of cyclists passing by?
Let's face it, the guy on the bike did something wrong, which is why he scurried out of court yesterday like a cockroach instead of talking to the media. Let's hope he gets sued and the truth comes out so we can all laugh at him.

The charges were dropped against him. Obviously the court didn't think he did anything wrong. I don't know what you watched by no one ran. The single rookie cop casually walked toward the cyclist and shoved him. How could he have possibly done anything to him. He was far from the officer when the video starts. Nothing he could have done would have justified that response.

They didn't charge him because they had no evidence, NOT because they "didn't think he did anything wrong." You also can't see, because everyone else who doesn't suck CM dick can see both cops were moving. And you also can't read, because I said something must have happened before he comes into the frame that provoked the cops to move to stop him. What if he assaulted a civilian, good enough?

What if he didn't? Why do you assume he did? There is evidence and it's against Pogan. Did you read the officer's report? It said the cyclist attempted to assault him and was weaving between cars. It's obvious by the video he didn't try to hit him. The cyclist was going around them and Pogan walked into his path and shoved him. And since when does the cop lose in a cop said / arrested said scenario.

The other officer was not going after the cyclist. He was following Pogan. You ever watch pairs of cops in NYC? I work there... they casually stroll behind their partner if they walk off. Which is what Pogan did. The second cop was in a relaxed pose when Pogan shoved the cyclist. In addition why would body checking the cyclist be an appropriate response? He didn't raise his hands to indicate him stop but just checked him.

Pogan placed himself in front of Long's path, does Long stop? No, he tries to get away. Pogan keeps himself in front of Long and you can see his mouth moving as he talks to him. Long doesn't stop, tries to get away, and at the last second steers his bike to the right, directly into Pogan.

Long was clearly going around him. If Pogan wanted not to be hit he would have moved left not right and he would have been far closer to his partner.
