i never even wanted a gerbil breeding project but i sure as hell got one. started with 2 about a year ago and i ended up with 170 O.O NO ONE WANTS THEM!!!!
in PA most of our petstores do not sell feeder mice for example petco and petsmart. so pet mice to buy there are $6 and up but if u go to a petstore that is in various pets and animals they sell feeder mice for about $1.50 but the one i go to sells them for $1.75 but if u buy much the price drops and its like $2.50 for six and right now im breeding them so its much cheaper and dont ever get attched to any of them because even if them r ur breeders cause breeder mice dont always breed whole life.
how many corn snake are you planning to have? i think they will reproduce way to much and faster than what 1 corn snake can eat, since they only eat 1's a week.
please answer because im planning on getting a corn snake and i too live like 2hrs away from the pet store and i was thinking of buying like 20 frozen mice which = $20 at a time. since it will take over 150 days for them to eat it not including their shedding period day when they don't eat, or should i get 1 breeding mice pair?
@sub1469 well i would buy the frozen ones becouse if you get 2 breeding mice they have alot of babies then you got to feed them and it only takes like 20 days for them to give birth
@TheAirsoftkid1999 well at a regular pets store, they usually go for 3 dollars +, but at a reptile specialty store, (where i go to) their usually around 80 cents

@coolmw2booster yes they do inbreed,but they have been inbred for such a long time it doesnt make a difference, except if they mom inbred,then the baby inbred, than that baby inbred , than maby their is a chance to get deformed, but its not really a problem every one inbreeds,they are not ghoing to get de-formed
@coolmw2booster and you will probably need 1 male to 5 females, so i reccomend so you dont have to go back, 3.15 which means 3 males, 15 females, but dont breed them all at once just breed 1 start feeding than get another one pregnent because you dont want to get over-run with mice like i have
