  • Does the GR-55 have a Univibe effect?

  • This hands down the best video on this product THANK YOU SIR

  • Is the pitch sense triggering good enough these days on these gtr synths to no longer need a physical note sensing device such as the synthaxe ?

  • Do they do a rack mount of this unit ?

  • Amazing machine and who better to demo it than an amazing guitarist such as Alex! He looks so at home with this technology. I know there's only so much you can demo and no doubt indivduals will get it home and do awesome things with it, but then again, some will totally ruin their playing thinking if they 'sound' better, they must 'be' better. Always a danger. Love the tunings and dual sounds on the pedal! Who needs a band?! :) Nice one Alex!

    You give lessons mate? :)

  • it would be nice if somebdoy would demo one of these playin real music and not weather channel or bad porn soundtrack music, seriously cheese is cheese

  • tru dat!

Hey Roland! Why must your guitar synths sound like 1980s cheese factory synthesis?

  • Just bought one, awesome! After a couple of days of playing with the presets I finally got around to reading the manual and started deep editing and creating my own sound, simplicity. Getting the MIDI data to my PC sequencer is starightforward and allows an amazing amount of creativity. This has been the holy grail for me for years and finally realised.

  • hey guys can anybody tell me how to get presets from mac to the gr55 ? any help would be great thanks !

  • His voice is like Dhoulmagus from Dragon Quest VIII.......

  • Deberian haber tutoriales en ESPAÑOL!!!!!!!!

Asi con que ganas compramos :P

  • what a fuck he playiung without roland gr's pick up ?

  • @rdt78 the gk pickup is build in the guitar...that why you can,t see it

  • @jalalflame thanks... :) is very cool this synth i love it

  • @rdt78 no, this guitar have the pick up inside, so don't need that black machine in back

  • @yuricriss i love this guitar synth

  • @rdt78 lol

  • LP= LipStick? I think its LP= Les Paul! It is still an awsome demo! Thank You!

  • @jkeecc47 it was on the strat settings i do believe

  • Now this is an example of a very good demo video!!! Very good....the way he showed this: have t to buy it!!!

  • The guy that plays the guitar looks like Michael Anthony from Van Halen

  • A guitar synth that makes a guitar sound like a guitar. Fantastic ?!

  • @pobinr Well it's TWO things-- a guitar synth AS WELL as a guitar processor. So the "guitar sounds" are simply high quality clean and processed guitar sounds, using modelling, but using the real, actual, analog sound coming from the six strings. You can use it for the guitar sounds only, OR the synth sounds only, OR any combo. Since each of the 6 strings' audio is captured separately, alternate tunings are possible.

  • Hi love your style of playing what sort of amp are you using

  • am i right? coz im reading synth as "sinth" not "saynth"

  • great demo! I think I am getting out the couch and heading to the music store now...

  • 2:08-2:27 beautiful :')

  • Very nice demonstration!

  • just amazing

  • 15:00 "It's a very rich sound, of chorus (course)." ;)

  • Superb gear but I prefer a guitar to sound like a guitar; very impressive though

  • Using a guitar synth to make the guitar sound like a guitar... fantastic !

They'll invent a synth that can emulate the sound of a synth next lol

  • @pobinr You mean like synth keyboard and electric pianos that are keyboards that sound like keyboards? Been around for a long time that sort of thing. This is an excellent bit of kit. I've got the VG99 and it means I have tens of thousands of pounds worth of instruments and amps from one box and one guitar.

  • But... the "analogic sounds are processed by midi? 'Cause i have an old Gk 1 and the Hammer on and Pull Offs are not noticed by my Midi In port of my audio interface (i'm using, obiviously, a GM70 to convert).

    Thank you very much

  • I think i recognize the guitar as a Godin multiac with synth access

  • what kind of guitar Alex use in the video? It´s don´t have de GK3!

  • tells you in beginning of the video lol :)

  • @CastleEstudio Any type of godin guitar, it have a built in gk system for midi use

  • @maurox3007 Thank you!!

  • Is the roland pickup guitar attachment required in order to be able to use this pedal?

  • The GR-55 should get a tutorial book. I guess I use only a small fraction of what it can do. Thanks for explainng and the great play, Alex!

  • Latency?? I Have one.. Latency issue, maybe me.

  • Latency??

  • great play and a wonderfull pedal i wanna buy one

  • where did he get the bass and drums, is this included in the effects of the Roland?

  • is thier a unit that just does snyth and not guitar stuff

ie no amps or guitar models

just organs pianos strings brass ect...

  • @rogerthehat the GR-20

  • @carlitos357bill hi thats great thanks for the info are the snyth sounds on the gr55 better or is the gr20 as good many thanks again

  • @rogerthehat i haven't tried it, but since the GR-20 is only synth sounds i suppose they are better.

  • He looks a little bit like James Labrie, from Dream Theater

  • GOO JOB ALEX!!!

  • music nerds, unite!

  • nice. really want this pedal...alex is a cool guy to.. great player.

  • Doesn't Hutchings learn yet that LP stands for Les Paul and not lipstick pickup? :) I wish that Roland makes a unit that includes all the capabilities of the GR-55 with the added amp modeling capacity of Line 6's HD500 or vice versa. I just don't like the fact that both of these products lack an important capacity of other. Although, I'm aware of the fact that there's Variax on the Line 6 side and VG on the Roland's but they cost damn too much to afford ;(

  • Comment removed

  • it is also possible to use the midi function and use softsynths from your computer?

  • @Phazur Yup. The GR-55 has a MIDI Out port that can feed into any hardware or software synth.

  • i totally appreciate this unit's beauty, but I just wanna use some awsome synth string sound and that's all (well i would glad to own all but i cant afford $600), so what's a good, compact, affordable unit that u may recommend?

    Thanks

  • @darren0512341 look for the Gr 33 :)

  • alex is great

  • where is he from? what's with "tuning dine an octave"? besides that he's just mindblowing and this thing is thing is awesome. wish I could buy one

  • This is crazy!!!!

  • fantastic

  • Alex, incredible man...

  • awesome. gotta' get me one of these :D

  • is it possible to loop the direct audio signal of the guitar? or does the gr55 only loop the midi data?

  • superb demo thanks

    Dominik Fret Time
