If Khatami was banned from running it would be fair policies given that he touches women. Also, Khomeini explicitly said no clergy should be president in Iran. So whoever votes for Khatami is simply voting against the Islamic Republic of Iran, and this is the obvious reason why Israel hopes for Khatami to be the next president of Iran, so he can again condone all Israeli and American invasions under the fake banner of dialog.

I think Khatami should be banned from running actually. He touches women, and is also a clergy. Khomeini explicitly said no clergies should be presidents in Iran. So people who support Khatami are many times going against the Islamic Revolution. Furthermore, Ahmadinejad already won the elections given the job he has done, and the lack of actions Khatami had (Ahmadinejad built more inter-cultural ties in one night of Christmas message than Khatami in his whole term).
