  • Got your pm. Thanks Seekerjet

  • @seekerjet Hey I'm an amateur at Street Fighter, recently got the Hori EX2 and I'm really disappointed with it, is the Madcats TE better in quality by far? I know the Hori doesn't even have enough buttons for SF or any other fighting game, just wanna know how this plays? I'm a real rookie with Arcade Sticks, before this is didn't use D-Pad for the original controller because it's disgustingly small and clunky, I've used an analog up until now, give me your opinion?

    Thanks.

  • @dFrozTGodly

Hi. The TE has no real disadvantages. It's worth the purchase.

  • @dFrozTGodly i had hori stick and madcatz sticks for over two years and let me start by telling you that HORI sticks are the best sticks made better than madcatz .the reason why madcatz is more popular than hori in the usa is because is easier to find a madcatz and cheaper. HORI is what the japanese pros use in there arcades. the hori ex2 is a starter stick for new people but if you mod the ex2 and put sanwa stick and buttons it will blow any madcatz away and 6 buttons is all you need for SSF4AE

  • @HARDBODYRALF

I have a Mad Catz TE stick (I had 2 but sold the 360 version) and a HORI RAP.EX Premium VLX. The VLX is far superior to the TE, it's even pointless to compare the two. The TE stick has no real flaws though, except the cheaply made cable door of which the closing tab can break easily. For the price, the TE is 100% worth the purchase. There is nothing bad about the TE. Nowadays, I use this TE for multi-console (I modded it). I exclusively use the HORI RAP.EX Premium VLX for SSFIV.

  • @HARDBODYRALF

By the way, not every HORI product is good. The HORI Tekken 6 has sticking, unresponsive buttons, a bad quality stick and it stops working after 2 months. Every HORI Tekken 6 stick owner that I talked to said their stick broke in 2 months.

  • @seekerjet you get wut u pay for and if u buy a cheap stick like the ex2 than you need to mod it to sanwa because madcatz use all sanwa and if you dont care about the money than look for the best fighting stick ever built witch is the hori real arcade pro ex premium vlx ,,,look it up but im telling thay hori are better sticks than madcatz

  • @HARDBODYRALF

I don't need to look it up ;) I know what you mean. What I'm saying is: low-budget: HORI & Mad Catz both are bad, mid-range: HORI is good and Mad Catz is bad, high-end: HORI is excellent and Mad Catz only has 1 good stick (TE). Mad Catz lacks good mid-range, but at high-end the TE is a joke compared to VLX.

  • @seekerjet i just order my ex2 and im not even going to try and play it as soon as it get here im going to mod it and you'll save more money on buying and new madcatz because all u need is the stick itself and sanwa buttons and stick. i like the 6 buttons layout and thats all you need ever since i got a fighting stick i got hook pretty badly and just play notting else but ssf4 lol

  • @HARDBODYRALF

The price of a stick is paid for the housing, not for the control parts. The reason why TE is more expensive is not because of Sanwa parts. That's just a marketing trick. Sanwa parts are inexpensive. You pay for the huge & heavy housing that it has. The HORI EX2 and Mad Catz SE sticks are much more affordable because of the modest housing that comes with them. But using an EX2 with Sanwa does make it a very good stick though. Let's hope your order arrives soon.

  • @HARDBODYRALF

By the way, I also only play SSFIV. If you want to, you can pm me your XBL tag and I can add you to my friend list to play some matches. =)

  • @seekerjet i got it on xbox 360 do you have it on xbox or ps3

  • @HARDBODYRALF

I play SSFIV on XBOX 360. I sold the PS3 version of SFIV and SSFIV long time ago.

  • Hey nice artwork :D i love the splashing effect around the buttons

    is it seimitsu buttons ?

  • @yoshimiyavi

    They are Sanwa buttons.

  • @seekerjet

    thx for the answer

  • @seekerjet

damn man that artwork is sexy

could you send me the design, im gonna see if i can alter it somehow to make it line up on an se

  • Hey Seekerjet can you please send me that design too? It loooks amazing! And I'd love to put it on my stick.. Best design I have ever seen by far. Can you give me a link or something too it? I'd really appreciate that thanks :D

  • @mcgrady564

Thanks. I sent the link to you.

  • Can u please put up the image for the template u used!? i'd really like to make this myself as well :) can u give me a link please ?

  • @XXBigJunetownXX

    No problem. Check your Inbox.

  • @seekerjet can i have it too plz ?

  • what is the size...and what is the kind of paper that u print the custom artwork from kinkos?

  • damn i wanna change the background of te stick but i dont that cash lol

  • NICE!! i like the glow around the buttons

  • This one is looking very nice.

    Good work!

  • dude that is sikk, where do you get your faceplate image from

  • @Avvas2003

Thanks. I made it myself. I took the official Ryu SSFIV portrait, SSFIV logo, made a screenshot of the abandoned temple stage, edited outer space explosions, took a default splash button art and edited them all together and changed colors.

  • is this just a reg TE stick with new art?

  • hey does the joy stick move on a square or a octagon?

  • @MarioBro15

It comes with a square but I put an octogonal in this one. I use my other TE stick with a square gate.

  • it looks awesome but its too fucking expensive

  • thats one fine stick. I want to make juri stick cos she's my favorite character now! Purple and white buttons wiht purple ball top should be a beastly stick. Did you make the artwork? Cos if you did I'd love it if you can make a juri one lol

  • Think this sort of mod will be possible for the Round 2 TE S stick?

  • That does look pretty fucking sweet.

  • charging

  • nice but they are stupid for charing people 150 for dis shit at gamestop

  • pretty cool.

  • why use all 8 buttons? :P jk

  • do u think they gonna be making sf4 acrade sticks wen super street fighter 4 comes out plz respond

  • Yeah there are new TE FightSticks you should look them up.

  • There will be SSF4 TE sticks.

  • yes

  • can u make me a custom Chun Li One?? and Make My Last To Buttons Baby Blue Instead Of Dark Grey ??

  • @Edwin1503

If you send me your TE stick, the transparent plexi glass plate, the baby blue buttons, the artwork, and a reasonable price for my photo paper, ink and work, there are possibilities.

  • Do you use the straight buttons?

  • I use the six white buttons.

  • if their is a Ken version i would defently buy it

  • I made the template based on layers. I can simply swap Ryu for Ken. I don't use Ken though.

  • @seekerjet you made these??

because i have a Marvel Vs Capcom 2 one and i want a Ken one, is it possible to switch the template

  • Yup, I made it. You can go to tek-innovations . com, order a transparent replacement top panel and put your own printed artwork for your stick.

  • is their a tutorial for everything i would like to change the buttons on my fightstick and artwork. and thanks for the link

  • @YukiJudai91

I don't know. I haven't used their tutorial. Basically all you need to do is just use the plexi glass panel and your own artwork instead of the existing plexi cover. There isn't much involved in using your own artwork except some patience and measuring.

  • I pay good money for something as awesome as this.

  • Thanks =)

  • seekerjet can you tell me this see the seimitsu transparent buttons do you know how to mod them to light up or a site that does or can it not be done 4 the TE stick thanks

  • @1974cactusjack

Most people do that on the Cthulhu control board of home-made sticks. I don't know if the TE can supply the power that the LED's need.

  • thanks man i didn't think you could as i've not seen a TE stick with them

  • nice job

  • @hadouryu

Thanks man. In the meanwhile, I changed the buttons and balltop as well.

  • cool i dunno weather i should get an arcade stick cuz they cost so much

  • @hadouryu

If you decide to get an arcade stick, make sure it uses a JLF-stick and Sanwa buttons (same components as the arcade machines). The Mad Catz Tournament Edition FightStick is the most affordable solution. The Hori Real Arcade Pro 3-SA also uses these parts but is more expensive and the housing is smaller. I'd recommend a Mad Catz TE FightStick. It is a thousand times better than regular consumer-level arcade sticks. Totally worth it.

  • ok how much did you pay for your arcade stick

  • $240, but now you can get one for $150 because it has become less rare. Until about 2 months ago, this stick was practically impossible to find unless you paid a fortune for it.

  • yer maby i will get one when super sf4 comes out

  • @seekerjet Hi, nice stick, plz help me with my question.. is there a better sanwa (or any) stick and buttons that can improve upon the stock TE arcade stick parts, i have the TE stick and i have the urge to mod it a bit :P, thanks for your time and good job

  • There are no better parts. These parts that come with the stick (Sanwa JLF-TP8-Y stick and OBSF-30 buttons) are the best. You can get those parts in other colors though. I purchased more of these buttons in other colors and also Seimitsu buttons but Seimitsu's buttons don't have the same build quality as Sanwa. They aren't as flat and don't press in all directions as stable as Sanwa. Seimitsu does come with different designs and mod-friendly transparent ones for in-button pics though.

  • @seekerjet, great, so i can just focus on the looks then, ill get some different button colours, would like to change the face plate but it may cost to much... anyway watch tthe "Sanwa JLF Ultimate Mod WITH UPDATE!" if you havnt already, i may give that a shot.

    thanks

  • @mastergsan

I've seen that video earlier this year. The idea is interesting, but for execution of complex combos, a tightened stick is the least you would want. For complex combos you need a stick that enables large movements for accuracy and speed. Small movement capability restricts speed and accuracy. The standard setup for the JLF-stick is the best you can get.

  • ok cool, i leave the stick as it is then, thanks again.

  • you should make a deejay one for the team :D

  • cool stick man i've seen a few of your videos and you always have sweet art work do you print them yourself.or do you go somewhere to get them printed

  • Thanks. I do everything myself, except drawing the CAPCOM artwork. I use Gimp (a Photoshop-like program) to blend different artwork, add effects to them, etc. Then I print it, cut it and put it in the stick on a custom plexiglass plate.

  • very nice, How much do you want for it?

  • hehe I'm not selling it ;)

  • that looks great!!

  • ^_^

  • AWSOME

  • Metsu....hadouuuuken!

  • that looks nice :)

  • Thanks bro :P

  • very nice

  • Thnx. It has the new Ryu portrait of SUPER SFIV's selection screen. That portrait was made public by CAPCOM yesterday =D

  • That's one smart-looking controller lol :P

I'll bet it's more fun playing Sreet Fighter with that!

  • Thanks! It does enhance the gameplay experience indeed.

  • I thought so...i'm terrible at fighting games lol but i love the Street Fighter anime movie!
