  • it seems like a nice gun just for recreational shooting with those sight, I believe that greatly improves the value, but maxed out sight adjustments, I can't bear having a gun like that

  • Wow! That's a nice lookin' survival rifle.

  • add a slip on buttstock so you can access the buttstock hollow better, better than breaking the buttstock in a emergency and losing use of the gun.

  • Will 45 long colt fire in the 410 barrel?

  • iou msy esnt to replace the razor blade with a leatherman squirt gives you more options, a disposable lighter [mini bic] instead of a fero rod so you canlight wet tinder, and the steel leader and bankline setup dave shows in one of his videos

  • @thehuntofohio the leather man is a good idea, and as far as the bank line I have almost entirely switched over to it after using it at the pathfinder gathering it is great stuff. but the farro rod is a must I have seen bics fail. if you add wet fire or cotton balls in vasilin it is a great choice. with the farro rod.

  • i have a springfield m6 survival rifle .22/.410, breaks in half, all steel, weighs 4.7lbs unloaded! greatest gun ever!

  • @TheReman5000 I agree 100% but more then I have to spend even if I could find one

  • i use one as a truck gun. the only problem with it is the 410 barrel when you look down the barrel you cant see the bead so you have to just point and shoot. Im 6'3 and it works for me even with the short stock.

  • so this can also fire 410? confused i am.

  • @shelltech83 Two barrels you have to remove the .22 barrel and put on the 410 barrel

  • I'd put the .22 and .410 shells in a bag in the stock, not good to have it rattling around in there and keeps it more organized when you need them instead of fumbling around with it.

  • does the youth model stock cheek well on a adult frame?

  • @TheSharpchick not to bad I have to chock up on it a little but it is vary usable.

  • why would you put a red dot on a survival rifle? leave it on over night and its no good.

  • @njmvermont I agree the red dot was for testing , I prefer to leave the scope of for survival a rifle fits in the pack better

  • Could you dryfire with this gun then if you have the safety on?

  • @ireallyneedanewsn I'd say yes, but don't do it while the gun is loaded, just for safety, it's there as a safety, not as a blocker, too much dry firing could bend or break the safety's rod.

  • Cool gun I'm getting the trifecta

  • Nice job on your Rossi. Thanks to you I'm running a similar setup on a .22/20ga. Good call on removing the supports in the forend for extra storage. I found it convenient to include a small screwdriver in there for stock removal. Are you happy with your scope? What's the model?

  • @surfguruaaa the scope is a truglo red dot it is all rite I have since went to a standard scope so I can shot past 50 yards more accurately

  • @xdmatt1320 Thanks for the reply. I felt the same when I researched the red dots and ended up with a Weaver 2.5-7x28 scope. Kinda overkill on the price and range (a 2.5-4x would be perfect for this .22), but it is a great fit for 75 and 100 yards depending on the ammo.

  • I have the .22, 20ga., and .243 combo that pretty much just sits there in the bag ready to go when needed, I have several other guns that are 'first grabbers' for in or around the house but the Rossi is set to go, I like you're idea about putting extra's in the stock too

  • @timbercamo1 same with me

  • does the butt stock connect to the receiver at all?

  • CAN THE 410 FIRE 2 1/2 SHELLS OR ONLY 3 IN

  • Kinda silly to need tools to open a survival rifle.. ahh well, still cool.

  • @lexmark136 It is rilly not a survival rifle jest modified to be one

  • what kind of scope mount is that and where did you get it? I am having trouble finding one that has the right size screws to fit in the gun, also I can't find any that have holes that align with the holes in the gun properly :/

  • @mcgiggity69 The only one I could find was a rossi mount you can get them on line at rossi or a Fleet Farm or other rossi dealers

  • @xdmatt1320 oh ok thanks. I actually managed to find one yesterday, but it was at a Dick's Sporting Goods. It was for a 410 shotgun, but if you look at how the barrels are designed you can see that the front part of the barrels are almost identical in size for where the round is placed, so rossi must have designed the .22 barrel to be like that of a 410 so it would all fit together in the same stock. It fits very nicely too, now I just need a scope that will fit the mount :P

  • how do you cut the snare wire thats in the stock? are they pre cut snares or do you carry a multitool? I cant even cut that braided wire with a multitool so I know your not cutting it with that razor. great kit though it would make a great truck gun.

  • @3HKnives I cut it with my leather man charge .That stays in my pocket all the time. and you are rite it makes a great truck gun that is where it rides most of the time

  • how long is the gun with the 410 barrel on

  • @mikelikes010 not sheer I will have to cheek

  • @mikelikes010 ive finaly got me one so i gonna find out tomarrow when i get my tape measure also a great gun for anyone

  • *rock

  • Do u really want to smash the butplate on a Rick with 22 rounds inside?

  • can you get the same package but with 20 gauge instead of a .410

  • @timmyjunior1 yes you can

  • i think you should just get the m6 scout. no use carrying that extra barrel that you can lose when with the m6 it is attached.

  • @schutter0291 I agree 100% but most people cant just get a m6 scout they are hard to find and expensive the rossi is a great choice for the common man it is only 100.00 $ the m6 scout is 400 to 500 if you can find them

  • nice, what does it cost?

  • how about .410 slugs?

  • @shoopwhoopX never tryed them thy would be good to carry if legal in my state they are not . at lest I can not have them when i am hunting

  • Niiice. Gotta get one. totaly cool. Thanks for the info.

  • @hadleyjack thanks they are great little guns

  • can it also have diffrent barrls

  • nice im trying to decide between ar-7, rossi match set .22 and 20ga, or kel tec sub2000 40cal...if you have any input that would be great....also youth model is a grest idea.

  • is it a 22 lr? or what caliber is it?

  • @TheBigpunn421 yes it is a 22 lr it aso comes with a 410 shotgun barrel

  • @xdmatt1320 also i think you should grab a recoil butt for the stock to replace the screw on butt....and youll only need a little strength to get to your survival kit.

  • hey matt dont get hit by a car out there in the wilderness, lol just kidding

  • just got one @ dicks sporting goods for $99.98

  • Very nice video! Thanks for posting! I just bought exactly the same thing, and appreciate your ideas. I'm thinking there might be room for a small Swiss Army knife in there, too.

If possible, I sure would like to know the details of the red-dot scope, that is, the mounting rail and manufacturer of the red dot.

  • @Magnageek thanks the red dot is a tru glo sight i got frome fleet farm it works well but if I were to do it over i would get a scope with cross hairs for longer range (50to75 yards) the red dot is hard to be precise past 30to40 yards, the rail mount I also got from fleet but you can get it on Rossi's web site

  • @xdmatt1320

That is good to know. Thank you!

  • Y dont u put the ammo in small zip lock bags

  • @FOWLER167 at the time i did not have any.. I jest started using a vacuum seller for some ammo and fire tinder

  • were did you get it all the models i see are 160+...

  • @scottroyle13 fleet farm had them for 120.00 when I got mine it has on sale for 100.00

  • tthe cooey model 39 would be a terrific survival rifle also

  • awesome! thanks for sharing ;)

  • The ones I have seen come with 3 barrels! .22lr 20 ga and .243. I guess they make different configurations!

  • @willwood487 ya they make alot of different configurations this one is a youth modal

  • I must have missed the splitting credit cards video, now I've got to go check it out. Great video Matt

  • $100? Nice! That other one, what is is... You mentioned it, the M4? You don't gotta attach anything but there's virtually no storage space. The AR-7 is really nice but it's twice as expensive. So you got some good options out there, for sure.

  • @DemonHide the m6 scout that I mentioned is a servival rifle that was made by spring field thay are an over under .22/410 and about 500.00 nice gun but pricey and hard to come by. so for a 100.00 the rossi was a good trade off .

  • @xdmatt1320 You could buy a 12ga shotgun and saw it off and still have spent less money combined with the Rossi, than you would have on the M6! It better be gold-plated for that price LOL

  • great video, Matt! Pretty innovative video, with storing stuff in the butt stock.....

  • @cpmower Thanks
