  • Overall a good synch....not quite the standard of Echoes/2001.

I was just a bit disppointed that this didn't progress to the climax of the film and the shot of Jack at the Overlook 1921.....where Jack is posed to look exactly like Baphomet (naughty Stanley)...end credits. That's Baphomet of the Templars btw.

  • Ah yes Pink Floyd and Stanley Kubrick.

That pretend offishness between the 2 amuses (not to death, of course!) me somewhat....especially considering Roger Waters sent Stanley Kubrick a backwards message in a track from his Amused To Death LP....Perfect Sense Pt1.

"Julia, however, in light and visions of the issues of Stanley, we have changed our minds. We have decided to include a backward message, Stanley, for you and all the other book partner's." (not book burner's as wiki states)

  • the USA, is also built upon an Indian burial ground, "the evil is here boys" as it says in Naked Lunch the movie,

maybe i should change my name by deed poll to Glen Runciter or something. this is the disembodied voice of your prior boss, who isn't dead

  • @CSryoh Oh my god.. It's obvious in the title!

  • This is bloody awesome in a very fucked up way.

  • nice, was waiting for that 3:10 sec

the casting alone made the mick garris version of the shining unwatchable. it's the guy from wings!! Everybody knows that demornay would eat his balls too!

  • Very nice@Kuku

  • i personally think the video is not in phase with the movie , but that's the theme i like so vidéo appears to be at no importance

  • ummagumma version

  • its something weird with floyds music, u can put echoes into a scene of the movie a space oddysey were it match's perfect to each other, and same shit with dark side of the moon and the wizzard of oz, search on darksideofthemoon wizzard of the oz or something and there will come a video of it, same thing with a space oddysey.

    And great video !

  • hey i never seen the movie wht is it a bout

  • the best horror movie ever !

  • i though holween was the best horra movie

  • Halloween was just blood and guts. The Shining is probably the most disturbing fictional film I have ever seen. Brilliantly executed by all involved and yet almost unwatchable because it is just so terrifying!

Kubrick and Floyd - it was meant to be.

  • it wernt really as scary as i exspected it to be and anything scares me.

  • name one scene in halloween that showed blood or guts?

  • no! Shining

  • ale jazda !!!

  • um....that was a lot of blood in the end what happened????????Because i never actually watched the movie T_T

  • the girl is like soooo good at acting!!!

  • i love king kubrick and pink floyd.

    you are sick

    thanks

  • I saw this movie in french, and there is the same jack, but the wife is blond and is not the same danny ...

and the scenes are not the same, but it's the same story, and the film's title is the same "THE SHINING"...

  • Its not the same Jack.... You talk about Mick Garris'es version.

  • @RollinGzRetroO you mean the crappy TV version.

  • @RollinGzRetroO

it's called ZE SHINING in french, don't be absurd

  • @FaryusBlack Thank you for your intervention, it's really useful...

  • @RollinGzRetroO

    I know, right?

  • @FaryusBlack no no, ze shining is the german version, le shining is the french version

  • @RollinGzRetroO hem, how can there be another "shining" movie with jack nicholson? but i agree with you that there is another adaptation of Stephen King's novel with a blond actress as wendy and another boy as danny and another actor as jack , more recent and which sticks more to the novel version. it was shown on channel 6 in France

  • Good job, thanks for this - almost forgot about this tune

  • is this the movie where everyone ends up being ghosts?sorry for the slowness...

  • This fits really well somehow

  • the original music fits much better you sort of ruined a masterpiece

  • the music fits perfectly there...great ;)

  • 4:27 WTF??

  • they are all the ghost of the house

  • who where in the room which the pig was into. did she see an illusion ?

  • read the book.

  • u think tht was a Pig? dude tht was a Bear

  • In the book I recall it saying dog.

  • lolz

  • yeah its a dogman

  • is this the studio version?

  • This version of Careful With That Axe Eugene is on the 2 disc release of Ummagumma with a live disc.

  • it says in the book that wendy is beautiful lol

  • I always had this movie in mind when listening carefull with that axe. Guess I'm not the only one

  • ummagumma!!! + the shinning

  • very nicely done!

  • I did the search "pink floyd the shining", and voila! It popped out,

    I love youtube! :)

  • please tell me that bear thing in the bedroom is from the movie

did you edit clips to the music or does it sync up?

  • It's scene from the movie.

Let watch it (The Shining) again ;)

  • cool, wow really well done

  • the womans face is so annoying! x

  • i know she's fucking hideous

  • jack good at playing mad

  • thats because jack is mad.

  • lol yeh

  • straight from ummagumma, but still the best take in the world ever. what does the shining have to do with it? Xpt 4 the axe which is too obvious

  • the kid is stupid why is he out side he should stay inside

  • That was so terrifying. Jack Nicholson at his very best!

  • that bear costume scene is the exact same scene in the music video called The Kill by 30 Seconds To Mars

  • Oh my fuckig god, very nice job maaaaan

  • What was the deal with the bear costume? (I haven't seen the movie btw)

  • Read the book, watch the film first.

    Rick, requistat in pace.

  • @xxgg55

A reference to the childhood abuse of Danny by Jack, sexual or otherwise....juxtapose that scene (the gent & bear) with the North American version of The Shining and the scene when the Doctor visits Danny at home for a sort of examination...you'll see Danny lying down on a huge cuddly toy that looks exactly like the bear scene at the end.

You don't get the Dr visit scene in the Euro releases...well not as standard, at least.

  • @roachy333

you can view the 2 juxtaposed pictures here...what the bear probably represents.

    h t t p://imageshack(dot)us/photo/my-images/204/redrum300scaled.jpg/

  • Woow! That fucking nice! :O

  • this movie isnt scary at all... its just boring

  • yeh but its got axe murdering psychopaths in it so i like it

  • Great movie ! Great song !

I don't remember for what movie but Kubryk asked the Pink Floyd to make the sound track for one of his movie.

    But the project failed.

"Careful with that axe, Eugene" is played at the end of Antonioni's Zabriskie point (this is a short version renamed "Come in nr 51, your time is up")

  • It was 2001 A Space Odyssey. If you play Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun at the part near the end when the astronaut (Dave)leaves the main ship for the planet (after HAL has been deprogrammed) you will see how it fits in well with the movie scene and would give you an idea how the Floyd soundtrack might have been for that movie. OM

  • Great Syncing man. This song goes great with the Shining. One of my favorite Floyd live tracks.

  • Great job. It really passed the exam :)

  • Dude he had to, If he didn't, the video would have been taken off for copyright infringement, Companies are gay like that :P.

  • Most music videos on youtube are fucking terrible this one however is exceptional....Good Job!

  • Pink Floyd is the best band ever.

  • KukujusPL you did a great job! But I think in the earlty parts where the song is mellow and slow you could use some of the hall way scenes and the car journey to the hotel.

    5 stars.

  • What Pink Floyd song is this? Is from the Syd Barrett years?

  • IDIOT.

  • FUCK YOU

  • Why do you call him idiot?

  • No this are Wright, Waters, Mason & Gilmour. The name is "Careful with that axe, Eugene"... It's a song from album Ummagumma(1969). The studio version is in Relics (1971).

    Rick Shine on!

  • This is over the top. You're a total goof, Kookoo, ya killin' me ovah heah wid dat!

Thanks for entertainment and showing just what can happen when 'tools' fall in to the wrong hands. nyuck. Now i gotta go see in your prof if you have any more such gems.

  • crazy awsome

  • thanks for the mix. Priceless

  • great jam, and drums that you can feal,! this is Rock

  • You set this up PERFECTLY. I love how the scream starts when Jack kills Dick and Danny and it cuts to Danny screamin'

  • Very nice video, thanks for the great work!

  • Pink Floyd and The Shining, it does'nt get any better than this, totally brilliant video, film and band.

  • did you know, kubricks original choice of music was the title track from atom heart mother? and the band turned it down

  • Yeah, He wanted it to "A Clockwork Orange" But the band said no.

  • oh yea thats right clockwork not the shining

  • WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!! Kubrick turned Pink Floyd down. He believed you couldn't quite beat classical music. Probably why he used it in almost all of his films.

  • Gilmour has stated that turning down Kubrick was one of the biggest mistakes of his life. So...yeah...

  • this song is amazing!

  • i take it you dont like it then!!

  • No, I was just kidding; I was just messing around in a wierd way. And I love Pink Floyd (who doesn't).

  • Oh Right Lol! Oh Ok! Yeah my mum played it as her wedding music on friday the 23rd of may!! lol and no it wasnt in a church lol! ahha! strange!! haha

  • Me too... The best horror-movie ever!

  • i love this song more then anybody. me and my friends are going to make a video for it. this song is incredible. roger waters is just....stunning..<3

  • We used to go out driving(back when you could afford gas) down the darkest roads we could find listening to this. Used to scare the hell out of me! Great job on the video.

  • Even in the Shining with only one actual killing, the black man has to be one.

At least he went out to soothing sounds of THE Floyd.

  • And the father dies Very important to note. The mother and child survive. This says a lot about the storytelling in this film. The individuals are doomed. The couples live.

  • Perfect song for this movie!!...GREAT JOB!!!

  • this is a scary ass fucking song it FREAKED me out the first time that i heard it really i know someone that ate acid and they listened to this song and they were fine before that you know like trippin out and they were doing okay and enjoying their buzz and listening to the rest of the songs off of ummagumma and then this song came on and they totally fucking FREAKED out when that fucking screaming started i am sure that this song will never be replicated i like it but it is fucking SCARY
