Overall a good synch....not quite the standard of Echoes/2001.
I was just a bit disppointed that this didn't progress to the climax of the film and the shot of Jack at the Overlook 1921.....where Jack is posed to look exactly like Baphomet (naughty Stanley)...end credits. That's Baphomet of the Templars btw.
That pretend offishness between the 2 amuses (not to death, of course!) me somewhat....especially considering Roger Waters sent Stanley Kubrick a backwards message in a track from his Amused To Death LP....Perfect Sense Pt1.
"Julia, however, in light and visions of the issues of Stanley, we have changed our minds. We have decided to include a backward message, Stanley, for you and all the other book partner's." (not book burner's as wiki states)
the casting alone made the mick garris version of the shining unwatchable. it's the guy from wings!! Everybody knows that demornay would eat his balls too!
please do another version with the KQED "Careful..." audio elsewhere here on the 'Tube and put all your image captures in SLOWWWwww MOoootion... like @ 2:40... the different editing and timing (dissolves) will make it a whole new experience! THANKS!
its something weird with floyds music, u can put echoes into a scene of the movie a space oddysey were it match's perfect to each other, and same shit with dark side of the moon and the wizzard of oz, search on darksideofthemoon wizzard of the oz or something and there will come a video of it, same thing with a space oddysey.
oooh, that's brilliantly done! one of my fave Floyd songs! one of the top movies on my list that i can never watch again all the way through because Jack freaks me out...haha well done anyway, mate!
Halloween was just blood and guts. The Shining is probably the most disturbing fictional film I have ever seen. Brilliantly executed by all involved and yet almost unwatchable because it is just so terrifying!
@RollinGzRetroO hem, how can there be another "shining" movie with jack nicholson? but i agree with you that there is another adaptation of Stephen King's novel with a blond actress as wendy and another boy as danny and another actor as jack , more recent and which sticks more to the novel version. it was shown on channel 6 in France
just another pink floyd song that fits a stanley kubrick movie, watch echoes set to 2001 a space odyssey if you havent yet,it fits perfectly theres other floyd songs that go well with 2001to and also watch atom heart mother set to the opening of clockwork orange if you can (im not sure its still on youtube)
A reference to the childhood abuse of Danny by Jack, sexual or otherwise....juxtapose that scene (the gent & bear) with the North American version of The Shining and the scene when the Doctor visits Danny at home for a sort of examination...you'll see Danny lying down on a huge cuddly toy that looks exactly like the bear scene at the end.
You don't get the Dr visit scene in the Euro releases...well not as standard, at least.
It was 2001 A Space Odyssey. If you play Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun at the part near the end when the astronaut (Dave)leaves the main ship for the planet (after HAL has been deprogrammed) you will see how it fits in well with the movie scene and would give you an idea how the Floyd soundtrack might have been for that movie. OM
KukujusPL you did a great job! But I think in the earlty parts where the song is mellow and slow you could use some of the hall way scenes and the car journey to the hotel.
No this are Wright, Waters, Mason & Gilmour. The name is "Careful with that axe, Eugene"... It's a song from album Ummagumma(1969). The studio version is in Relics (1971).
This is over the top. You're a total goof, Kookoo, ya killin' me ovah heah wid dat!

WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!! Kubrick turned Pink Floyd down. He believed you couldn't quite beat classical music. Probably why he used it in almost all of his films.
We used to go out driving(back when you could afford gas) down the darkest roads we could find listening to this. Used to scare the hell out of me! Great job on the video.
And the father dies Very important to note. The mother and child survive. This says a lot about the storytelling in this film. The individuals are doomed. The couples live.
this is a scary ass fucking song it FREAKED me out the first time that i heard it really i know someone that ate acid and they listened to this song and they were fine before that you know like trippin out and they were doing okay and enjoying their buzz and listening to the rest of the songs off of ummagumma and then this song came on and they totally fucking FREAKED out when that fucking screaming started i am sure that this song will never be replicated i like it but it is fucking SCARY

I don't remember for what movie but Kubryk asked the Pink Floyd to make the sound track for one of his movie.
But the project failed.
"Careful with that axe, Eugene" is played at the end of Antonioni's Zabriskie point (this is a short version renamed "Come in nr 51, your time is up")
