  • How many times did hines ward fuck ed reed up? i lost count.

  • Ed Reed is the best secondary player ever.

    thats it thats all.

  • To even compare Troy Polamalu to Ed Reed is retarded in itself. When Troy has 57 INTs, then they can be compared. Right now, though, through the years, it's not even close.

  • It is stupid that Troy Polumalu and Brian Dawkins aren't on this list.

  • much respect for this guy. ....i'm a steelers fan.

  • this man is a animal

  • GOAT

  • Fucking monster :)

  • reed's beard is fuckin awesome!

  • ed never played strong safety like troy, are you serious, never say that ed reed played strong safety better than troy, when he got good later in his career, troy had a immediate impact. troy is a much more complete safety, ed can only wish he can stop the run like troy, all ed does is ball hawk 20 yards deep, troy has to cover a tight end or play in the box, sometimes he will be deep especially now, but overall you cannot compare the two

  • @ThaLuqmonster you are a complete retard if you think that is the case. earlier in eds career he did play ss and he was better then troy, he can stop the run like a monster but can also ball hawk and head hunt, he is the best safety to play, he is on a different level then polomalu, they are completely different. Troy does cover the run better but thats about all he can do better then ed. watch some football

  • 1:03 "sup boy!" kills me everytime! lol

  • "Beautiful day in Baltimore. . for some FOOTBALL!" *Ed Reed Voice* lol

  • how is he only 88? he should be way higher.

  • @zyzor Because this is an all times list, not at the moment list, and I'd say he should of been lower.

  • 3:43 Dat Ass

  • @iTrippify LOL!

  • @4oldskool i dont know whats more stupid. You or that list. I think its you.

  • "I know how you play dog. It's goo, it's coo" haha

  • Brian dawkins shouldnt..hes overrated..

  • you know, why can't steelers fans and ravens fans just treat each other like the players do?

  • @PrvtCaboosh You mean like Hines Ward trying to end careers of other players by hitting them in the chin when blocking?

  • Comment removed

  • From a Giants fan, by the way.

  • I don't rate Ray or Ed as Batman or Robin, they're equals. Ed Reed is a prototypical center fielder in football, no matter what QB you're talking about, none of them pick on Ed Reed. You saw in the AFC Champ game last week (even though it got intercepted on a great play) one of the only deep throws by Brady over the middle was made only because Ed was playing nickel back and not Safety so they took a shot. Miles better than any Safety in the league, not even close.

  • Greatest cover safety. Period

  • @KDarius91 one of the hardest hitting ones too

  • should be way higher

  • Why are they allready making a top 100 players list when most of these players havent even finished their careers yet??? WTF make one of these in 30 years.

  • @thesuperbeast46 But then other people that will be great in 30 years will be on the newer list and we'll be saying this same thing about them and why they're already making the list

  • @thesuperbeast46 Actually, there were only like 6 or so active players on the list when it was made.

  • SUP BOYAH

  • I think if sean taylor were still around he could be just as good or even better than ed reed

  • @Redskins219891

Oh please. Ed Reed might be the best safety ever to play.

  • LOL AT HIM 3:04!

  • In 2011

  • should of been on the browns, fuck the scrub ravens they blow cock

  • @UncutTuts HAHAHAHAH! Your calling the Ravens scrubs? Reality check dude the Browns are the laughing stock of the AFC! Don't talk shit about other teams until your team actually does something good.

  • brian dawkins shuld be on this list

  • @ljlock2599 heard that!

  • I'm a HUGE Steelers fan and I love Troy Polamalu. He's a great athlete and makes plays in the NFL that no one else can make, but when it comes to playing Safety in this league, no one does it better than Ed Reed. The ball belongs to this man whenever he steps foot onto the field and he knows how to read any QB no matter how they play or how long they've been around. You want the occassional amazing plays, you take Troy...but if you want the ball and all-around safety, you take Reed all day.

  • @kenyaforever I'm a Ravens fan, and I'm friends with a huge Steeler fan, and we've both agreed on this exact point. Me and him have both said that Polamalu would be a lot more effective in his coverage skill if he didn't play as aggressive on every play. Not saying that he shouldn't be aggressive, but he's overly aggressive and that's when he gets burned. That's how Green Bay took advantage of him in the Super Bowl.

  • @tiatrips Exactly, he plays the position well and makes plays you rarely see from a safety, but when he gets overly agressive, he opens the rest of the field up to the QB. It's exactly why we lost to Green Bay, because a smart player like Aaron Rodgers can read stuff like that and use it to his advantage. If Polamalu could learn to play smart like Reed, while still showing his agressive nature, he's be hands down one of the best in the leagues history and there would be no argument.

  • When the ball is in the air, Ed Reed is the single scariest player in NFL history.

  • Ronnie lott

  • @skcris15 he was actually in the top 10 i believe lol

  • this literally ends who is the best safety in the league. who else is on this list? no one.

  • Urban dictionary "ED Reed" Jan 16 2009 :

"The Free Safety/Strong Safety/Cornerback/Entire secondary for the Baltimore Ravens. Has a bigger intercetion radius than if you were to put every Detroit Lion player that ever played on the field... together."

  • He was so great today!!!

  • lol forget the argument between reed and polamalu,i would have both of them in my backfield if it was my choice.

  • fuck hines ward

  • the new Dawkins

  • Before you talk about troy learn about his position.Troy is a Strong Safety meaning that he plays the run & is in the box more.Ed Reed is a Free Safety meaning that he plays the pass more. But Troy does it all.Troy plays LB,Cb & both type of Safties. So dont say that he is over rated.Ed Reed has great stats but if you really watch his plays his plays dont change the game.Troy is a game changer.People say that Aaron Rodgers exposed Troy.Troy was hurt & every player gets exposed.

  • @TopFiveDeadOrAlive

"Ed Reed is a Free Safety meaning that he plays the pass more. But Troy does it all.Troy plays LB,Cb & both type of Safties. So dont say that he is over rated."

Really, a free safety plays the pass more??? Holly shit, you need to be coaching in the NFL.

-Watch Tebow light him up on Sunday's Wild Card game on NFL Replay.

  • sooo how the hell does baltimore not have more superbowls?

  • ED REED is too cool to be robin.

  • why does this video had mostly have hines ward in it.

  • ed reed dont even deserve to be in this. I hate the steelers but polamalu makes more plays than ed reed and is better.

  • @TheShootTruth10 They're two completely different styles. Reed plays more coverage, and Polamalu plays more up close to the Line. When Polamalu is in coverage he isn't as effective. He tends to get burnt, and take a lot of risks that backfire. He is a great player as well, but coverage wise, Reed is better. Polamalu is like a LB at safety.

  • Earlier in ed's career he played strong saftey and did better than troy

  • @EricDAshe U must be high bruh

  • @EricDAshe what are talking about he never played strong saftey and he aint better than Troy.

  • @EricDAshe Dude he's better than Troy......

    Look at his hightlights

  • ed reed is strong safety. and polamalu is free safety... if you dont know the difference, fuck you

  • @mcgrever9123 looks like you don't know the difference

  • @NiggaWithAttitude how does my comment say that i don't know the difference lol. they are 2 different positions.

  • @mcgrever9123 polamalu was never a free safety

  • @mcgrever9123 its the other way around

  • @mcgrever9123 polamalu is strong safety and ed reed is free safety dummy

  • @mcgrever9123 lol other way around bro, ed reed is smaller

  • @4oldskool Are you a Steeler fan?

  • u know ur good when ur arch rival team, rival posistion, is saying you're a beast

  • @4oldskool are you high?

  • ED REED AND POLAMALU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE RANKED AGAINST EACH OTHER!!! They are different positions! this is coming from a HUGE baltimore fan and a HUGE hater of the steelers and pubic-head polamalu

  • @RememberPele Ed reed played SS for his first 3 years and was defensive player of the year so we can compare them and Ed reed is better

  • @zE30z oh didnt know he played strong, but hell yeah ed reed is better and he doesnt have his pubes on his head...

  • @4oldskool Ed Reed is the only player in NFL history to return interceptions, fumbles, punts and blocked field goals for touchdowns, He has two of the longest interception returns, he led the NFL in picks for 4 years and last year he did while only playing ten games, and he holds more interception return yards in a single season than most had in their entire careers, And these are only as fraction of the reasons why he made this list.

  • Hines Ward presented this, even steelers think that Reed is a great player, that's saying something.

  • Mane yall are jus lookin at positions look at it dis way den can Troy do wat Ed Reed does for the Ravens HELL NO but can Ed Reed do wat Troy does for the Steelers HELL TO THE YEA BCUZ ED REED CAN DO EVERYTHING N IF NOT FOR HIS NECK INJURY HE WUD MAKE D STOPS IN THE RUN GAME JUS LIK TROY JUS LOOK AT HIM BEFORE HE HURT HIS NECK N LOOK AT HOW HE WUZ EVERYWHERE ON THE FIELD ED REED WILL GO DOWN AS THE GREATEST SAFETY TO EVER PLAY THE GAME!!!

  • Anyone talking Polamalu vs Reed they play different positions Polamalu is better against the run because he's a STRONG safety Reed has more interceptions and better instincts in pass defense because he's a FREE safety

  • @mthlax11

Yes, they play different positions we're aware of that. Thanks for letting us know.

When people compare the two they are saying: "one is better at what he does than the other".

  • i love that this is presented by Hines Ward

  • REED-FENCE!!!!!!

  • He throws up "The U" before every pick

  • @scottiedoesntknow1 thats cuz he betta than numba 1... this was made b4 he did a lotta good shit too

  • Ball Hawk.

  • @nicka903 you're crazy. Ed Reed has not had the opportunity to even play in the Super Bowl yet, and when Ed was at his best, we had an anemic offense that could not move the ball. And if I recall, Troy was not that fantastic in the playoffs last year, so do not out him on such a high pedestal. Yes, Troy is a great player obviosuly and its hard to compare them since they play two different positions now, but Ed could do what Troy does if he didnt have to worry about his neck injuries

  • @firstbas3man16 true he hasn't been to a SB, but he's had playoff experience. and troy wasn't 100% in the playoffs, reports circulated after the super bowl that he was playing injured. and the last champoinship winning year for PIT wasn't exactly a "pretty". they relied heavily on the defense and a lot of momentum-shifting plays from troy. offensively, they could not run for shit and ben had like an 80 something rating

  • ed reed is not better than polamalu. people who say that only look at interception statistics. but FS and SS are 2 different positions. polamalu was often playing like an extra linebacker against the run. he was a big reason why the steelers have been the best defense against the run. and at times has still been a known "ball hawk". troy is a pure playmaker in clutch moments, something that ed reed is not. troy plays with fire, not flash. he's got 2 SB rings to show for it

  • @nicka903 Are you high

Ed Reed is ridiculously clutch....and he can play the run as we'll

also you're being a hypocrite, like you said two different positions

lets just stop comparing them and agree that they're the best at their respective positions

  • @allblue15 ok, i never said that troy was better than reed either. now i'll admit i could've worded that better. also maybe it's too much to say reed isn't clutch but i'm pretty sure troy left his presence felt in many more clutch defensive plays. recall the steeler-raven afc championship game and troys big pick 6. you don't get more clutch than that. or the divisional tiebreaker last year when he had the FF leading to a turnover and a game winning score. i could go on

  • @allblue15 also troy is far better against the run. i'm not saying reed isn't a good tackler, but troy reacts to running backs much quicker and has a downfield pursuit that dick butkus could appreciate.

  • Look at all the hatred, even though Hines Ward is saying how great he is

  • Ed Reed shouldnt be on this list

For all the Polamalu bashers out there, pull your heads out of your asses

    Both are fantastic players

Reed is known for his speed and great zone defense, Polamalu for tackling

Everyone says Troy got lit up by Aaron Rodgers, last time I checked there are 11 players on defense, not 1

I still do not put either on the top 100 list, they may crack it by the end of their careers though

  • 3:04-3:09 lmfao

  • keep pressing 8

  • Polamalu is a overrated.

Watch the tape from Super Bowl 45. Aaron Rodgers light him up.

He's a very good playmaker at the line, but get him out and space and watch him get lost.

The role of a safety is to be: "the last line of defense and cover space well".

Ed Reed fits that description perfectly.

I'm not saying Polamalu is a bad player, but he gets way to much respect. Playing with that Steeler pass-rush makes him look better than he really is.

    Ed Reed > Polamalu

    ...not even close.

  • @QBDogKiller i call bullshit because when the steelers didnt have polumalu they wernt the same team and you cant look at the super bowl and say he isnt that good because aaron rodgers carved everybody up.

  • @mattmonsterful

"because when the steelers didnt have polumalu they wernt the same team"

They allow him to freelance and make plays at the line of scrimmage, which he's very good at. Does that mean he's "the best safety in the league"??? No.

Look at the key third downs of Super Bowl 45 and watch the player getting burned on those plays.

    (Hint: he makes shampoo commercials)

  • @QBDogKiller polamolu should be a line backer

  • @QBDogKiller Thank You

  • @QBDogKiller you're 100% right

  • @QBDogKiller i like redd more but polamalu was hurt at the super bowl

  • @luisalexander70

    Polamalu was hurt?

-Ed Reed played only 10 games last year because of severe back-spams (he even considered retirement this off-season) and still led the league in interceptions with 8.

  • @QBDogKiller What do u mean not even close, playing at free safety Polamalu's job is usually to cover the tight end or blitz, he very rarely is back for protection if someone breaks loose from the cb, usually only at the end of a game or in a long third down. Polamalu makes tackles, and makes key plays to win games, Reed makes key plays also, he gets alot of interceptions but he doesnt make tackles like polamalu and most of reeds ints are ususally bad throws by the qb, over thrown wr's

  • @DwightWhite78 ... You obviously are clueless. Polamalu plays STRONG safety. The interceptions Reed get are not bad throws, in fact, he gambles on which side to lean on and gets interceptions breaking on the ball. Way to know football, boi.

  • @ChrisSwagJohnson hahahaha, ryan Clark plays strong safety for the steelers, ur an idiot

  • @DwightWhite78 ... You're a dumbass. Wipe that cum off your eyes and actually see what position he plays. SS does not mean Free Safety.. SMH the only idiot here would be you.

  • @ChrisSwagJohnson i was about to tell him the same thing lmao thats how you know ppl dont watch football

  • You gotta put in a lot of time to be consistently that great and im a fan of greatness

  • ed reed at 88? who made this list a bunch of monkeys?

  • @skullhunter98 Rod Woodson and Deion Sanders were much better

  • @tng150 still ed reed shouldnt be 88

  • @skullhunter98 Believe me I know, he's one of my favorite players. It's just that there arent many safeties on this list.

  • @tng150 Deion Sanders played Cornerback you dumbass. How can you compare a corner to a free safety

  • @Shadow9220 Your calling me a dumbass? Rod Woodson played cornerback for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and he also made the Pro-Bowl as a cornerback. You call me a dumbass yet you don't know this fact. You fucking idiot.

  • @tng150 you are still a dumbass. Your comparing two corners to a safety. Thats like comparing a QB to a WR

  • @Shadow9220 How can comparing two positions, where in both of them the job is to cover recievers, be like comparing a quarterback and a wide reciever? And I'm pretty sure I was comparing Rod with Ed Reed or Rod with Deion. I'm pretty sure I wasn't even comparing Ed Reed with Deion.

  • As a Steelers fan, Ed Reed is better than Polomalu. Not to say Polomalu isn't good, but Reed is GREAT.

  • reed is better than lewis...

  • 3 dislike is from steelers fans

  • Polomalu is better than Ed Reed even tho I am a huge ravens fan I still gotta be honest and our QB sucks balls.

  • @iHaunted1

Polomalu is better against the run, hes a playmaker, no dought. Ed Reed is a better in coverage and has the more interceptions and ultimately a better leader on the defensive end than Polumalu. That said, their both great safeties, however, I would take Reed.

  • @iHaunted1 Flacco isn't bad at all

  • @iHaunted1 If this is your opinion then you are clearly not a Ravens fan.

  • @Bonhamman90 Flacco is decent man. At least you dont have Sanchez. If Rex Ryan was appointed your HC over John Harbaugh, you guys would would have him.

  • So fast.

  • lol I am a huge steelers fan but polamalu got nothing on Ed Reed xD

  • HE IS SO GOOD AND NEVER GETS TALKED ABOUT,HE ALREADY HAS MORE INTERCEPTIONS THAN SANDERS.I CAN'T BELIEVE IM SAYING THAT WHEN IM A STEELERS FAN!!!!!!!!!GO STEELERS!!!!!!!!!

  • :59 SUP BOI

  • wow the one giving complements is the one who blindside blocked him

  • Troy isn't on.the list cuz Reed has more experience but Troy is an BETTER ALL AROUND SAFETY

  • @NighaTron21 1 year is more experience? The steelers D is built around Troy so of course he's gonna make plays.. Reed was the same way his 1st 3 seasons while still playing coverage like he does. then they allowed him to play coverage his way

  • @NighaTron21 You really can't say that, Troy plays SS so he's like an extension of a LB

Reed is a FS so he's almost always further back meaning they have different play styles and jobs in their respective careers

plus Ronnie Lotts runs laps around both of them

  • @NighaTron21 nonononononononono

  • Steelers fans can debate all they want, but in actual reality they are the only ones who think 43 is better than 20. Go ask a Chiefs fan, go ask an Eagles fan, or any other fan. There`s a reason he is on the list and Troy P is not.

  • This list is a fucking joke...

  • Awkward: 3:42.

  • he got another neck injury during the Jacksonville game i hope he doesn't retire

  • how do you guys NOT dislike this video? ill be the first. hes ATLEAST top 30. And you ALL KNOW THAT. LIKE THIS IF YOU AGREE

  • the scary thing is that this guy could play for a lot more years still..

  • lol wards face is like i hit this guy -___-

  • 1:00 "Sup BOIAH!!!"

  • FAGGET POLOMALU COULDNT CRACK THE LIST ;)..... ED REED MAKES THE LIST

  • @johnblakeparker1988 You're an idiot, if you looked it up, Polamalu wasn't put on the list, they actually forgot to put him on. The voters said he would have been voted higher than Reed if he was included. But the again, the voters did vote in 19 quarterbacks and only 37 defensive players, I think only like 5 offensive linemen or something like that.

  • @thispoorguy ....your name really suits u"thispoorguy" you are a retard and probably gonna die alone because of your lack of mental intelligence..... I am sure they just "forgot" to put Polomalu in it LMAO....what kind of far fetched story is that???? your pathetic in believing that..... ED REED WAS RANKED AHEAD OF POLOMALU IN THE 100 GREATEST CURRENT PLAYERS LIST!!!......therefore you are a fool...and should be drawing some kind of check on your mind....and i bet your from around Pittsburgh too

  • @johnblakeparker1988 Where as that excuse of "they forgot him" is really fucking retarded. That list of 100 greatest current players was made by the same people who made this list, just because they say he is better doesn't mean he is better.

  • @scene363

No the 2 lists were not made by the same people, this list was voted by NFL experts and writers.

The top players of 2011 were voted on by the players, know your shit before you talk it.

  • @Cousineau91 You're a fucking moron.

  • @scene363

but im still right bitch. the two lists were not voted on by the same people.

  • @Cousineau91 no, no they were not.

  • @thispoorguy Polamalu is not better than Ed Reed

  • @missionbears i disagree. ed reed hits harder, but i think polamalu is quicker (maybe not 40 time wise but agility wise) and i think he has a better eye for whats going to happen on the field

  • @Number1JDAWG No way is Polamalu faster than Ed Reed. Ed Reed is a Ball Hawk the amount of interceptions he gets speaks for itself

  • @thispoorguy if he was so great they wouldnt have forgotten bout him.

  • @thispoorguy Moar records+Moar stats=Better Player. 7 time pro bowl and all pro

  • @thispoorguy no proof. don't make shit up.

  • Not high enough on this list, Reed will be a first ballot HOFer for sure.

  • one word to describe dys man.....canton...dat's all i have to say

  • 2 words about the ranking:

    bull. shit.

  • LOL Polamalu didn't even make this list. I love it!

  • @scottiedoesntknow1 are you fucking stupid, check the numbers ed doubles troy's

  • @Vungvari no the real question is are YOU fucking stupid. Read what I wrote again and then you'll realize how much of a douche- grocery cart you are.

  • Ed Reed, and Ray Lewis if not the best combo in NFL history one of the best.

  • The sad thing is sean taylor was better then ed and ed said that...

  • @team407izme I miss Sean Taylor he would of been the best but Reed is the best today

  • damn he should atleast be 30-40 something

  • my favorite player. grew up watching this guy play in miami, was always a beast.
