@x360xgamer thank you for your input I have put up prosthetic on yetbut I will. Thank you for your input ag my new leg I hope all works well but I am still unsure Dean
My name is Dean I will be getting my new prosthetic on Tuesday my surgery was in May my problem when I put on the test socket I have pain at the base of my stump in your experience is this normal?
@de6an Does the socket feel loose or very tight? If it feel just right and some slight pain around the suction ring that is normal and should go away over time. Also for the first few months I had my prosthetic leg, it hurt quite a bit when i would be relaxed and then get up to move around. Then it would take a few minutes to adjust to the pressure. With time, active prosthetic use, and a good fitting socket, the pain should go away.
@x360xgamer If the Socket fits correctly you should not have pain. Maybe some slight discomfort as you get used to it but not pain. Talk to your Prostethetist. He should be aware of your pain level & the two you need to work to corrcet the problem.
I live in Brazil under 35 degrees centigrades most of the year. This also makes it so uncomfortable to use the pros. How does it feel when you are under really hot weather?
I've been a double amputee since I was two (I'm 45 now). Tried many different models as you can imagine. My last ones are pretty much similar to yours: the air suction method of keeping them fit. The difference is that I insert my stumps into them using a sort of elastic band that gets out of the little hole when the stumps are in place. The problem is that I feel the pressure VERY annoying .... sometimes painful, don't you?
@gilsonbicudo We most likely do not use the same suction method. Using the liner like I am in this video helps distribute the pressure away from the end of the residual limb.
@x360xgamer I guess yours has a much more modern method than mine. And also you have longer stumps, mine are probably have the length of yours and one centimeter more of working area can make a big difference. That's why surgeons in amputation procedures do their best to preserve as much as possible.
In a skiing accident. You can check out a video that explains it all on my channel... There are actually 2 videos that explain most of it

@pepe88012 During the day, without a doubt the prosthetic, but at night after I have taken a shower, I roll with crutches. Thanks for the question!
