The COLB is the legal and only birth certificate produced by HI. Each state has the right to tailor birth certificates to their specifications. HI's birth certificate is sufficient to get a passport and is prima facie evidence in any court of law.
Sorry that HI's birth certificate doesn't provide you the name of a hospital or doctor for you birthers to harass, but that's HI's choice. Bring it up with their Department of Health. Obama's legal birth certificate is online.
For several years after HI became a state anyone in the world could get a HI Certification of Birth and I think that this is part of the controversy. To get a Certification of Birth all someone had to do was submit their birth certificate from the country they were born in. It is not that way now but it was in 1961.
For a COLB to be issued today the birth certificate must still be signed by a physician.

Well, now you're asking for a different thing. I was asked to cite a case about how a natural born citizen doesn't lose their citizenship by going abroad as a child or even taking another citizenship (again, Perkins).
Natural born citizen was formally described in Wong Kim Ark as following common law, which allows for anybody born on US soil, regardless of parentage, to be NBC. If you are born abroad, you are also NBC if you have two citizen parents (and maybe even one, that's less certain).

I think most Americans would be satisfied if he just upheld his promise of transparency. Sealing his life records is not going to cut it anymore. He needs to come clean or continue to face the onslaught of lawsuits. Choosing to fight will only continue to hurt his numbers and credibility. Sounds to me like he is willing to fight and take the damage. This means that whatever he is hiding in his records are actually way more damaging than the lawsuits will cause him.

Regarless of how the "birthers" would interpret his records if released, why is Obama fighting and hiding the release of his records? WHY!??

The COLB is the legal and only birth certificate produced by HI. Each state has the right to tailor birth certificates to their specifications. HI's birth certificate is sufficient to get a passport and is prima facie evidence in any court of law.
Sorry that HI's birth certificate doesn't provide you the name of a hospital or doctor for you birthers to harass, but that's HI's choice. Bring it up with their Department of Health. Obama's legal birth certificate is online.

For several years after HI became a state anyone in the world could get a HI Certification of Birth and I think that this is part of the controversy. To get a Certification of Birth all someone had to do was submit their birth certificate from the country they were born in. It is not that way now but it was in 1961.
For a COLB to be issued today the birth certificate must still be signed by a physician.
