  • It should be spelled 'houmous', but pronounced 'HOU-muss'. Pronouncing it 'hou-moose' is pretentious; spelling it or pronouncing it 'hummus' is American and should be avoided unless you are American. Spelling it 'humus' is just plain wrong; humus is a layer of soil.

  • Dear Delia, Please never invite me over to taste your whoomoose, which I can imagine might as well be called tahini soup.

  • WHO MOOSE?!

  • sick of youtube adverts. If I wanted to watch advert I 'd watch the TV

fingers way close to 'close account' on this shit

  • da fuck was that? this is a chick peas soup not a humus.. and this is not called Hoe Moose..She probably never visited Lebanon.

  • @shadeofme12 never, NEVER argue with Delias bitch !

  • @sweetypie000 I will agree with her saints if I have to. this is a scandal - tfouh 3alayki ya om el sharameet = dalia lol

  • its hum-mus NOT hoo moose.

  • If you are going to use pre-bought chick peas, why dont you just buy the Houmous as well.

  • @Fantic1980

Because some people actually like to make things. And unless you want to grow, dry, soak, and cook your own chickpeas, you have to buy them.

  • I'm totally addicted to Hummus, especially if it's spiced up with chili or wasabi... it's my favourite type of junk food now and goes extraordinarily well with falafel or bread, beer and movies :-)

But I disapprove of the pita bread flewn in from Greece. I know chick peas don't grow where I live, but bread? Ever heard of ecological footprint?

  • What's that little blender she uses ? I want one as I only ever cook for 2 people maximum anyway.

  • @kathleenlees

Hello.......just thought I`d let you know that the blender that Delia is using is available from Argos. Its made by Kenwood and I bought mine for just under £20.00 about a year ago. Amazing little machine and mine even has a sticker on the side saying "Delia cheat".

  • Would it not be even quicker to just used tinned chic peas? :-/

  • @HopeJamerson Yes, although you will need to rinse them lots of times

  • @HopeJamerson yes,but this is from her series on frozen cheats and i suppose theres not that bigger difference only 10 15 minutes to let the frozen one defrost.

  • Who moose?

  • the real houmous texture is smooth :/

  • 'Who-moose'.......who pronounces it like that?!

  • @WillowFrancais "who-moose" is the way the Greeks pronounce it rather than "hummus" that we often say in the UK.

  • 2 whole cloves of garlic is too much, and it's better to add the water as you're blending it, not afterwards.
