I rescued my Weimeriner "Bella" when she was two. I have had her nine years now and she came to me with some anxiety issues and skin problems. I love this bread of dog so much! Not only for their beauty and grace, but for the loyalty and companionship she has given me thru the years. I can walk with her by my side without a leash and she never runs away... She always stay within a 10 foot radius. "Bella" is now 11 and having some neurological issues and has trouble standing. It's almost like s
why do these dogs need advocacy groups, i thought they were just for perfect rich white people families. serious question, cuz to me its like adoption group for Ferraris. no offence meant.
@ripjohnnyc They're very smart, active, and need a lot of attention.
They're very interested in YOUR STUFF, doing what YOU'RE DOING; they think they're people with extra rights.
B/c of their intelligence they can be a tough breed unless you don't work.
You're right though, they are very special, but 'high maintenance' and worth every minute if you need a companion or hunting dog; they're great at casting and therefore don't run off.
Congrats on great the work. All dogs deserve a loving caring home. Personally I have Dobies but love the Wiems as well.Never met a truly "bad" dog only ones that had been brought up by bad or misguided owners. The only bad part of dog ownership I've found is losing a part of your heart when they have to leave you.And it never gets easier. Wishing you many more success stories and forever homes.
great video....i live in Argentina, in a very small city, and fell in love with this dog, and i am trying very hard to get one, cause they are not very easy to get where i live.....watching these poor animals suffer makes me really angry with the people responsible, but on the other hand, it's conforting to know there's people like you fighting for those who can't speak....thanks for what you do.
I also rescued a Weimaraner from a hunter. He wanted to kill her just because she had been hit by a car and limped from one leg. The vet told me and asked if i wanted her and although my mother said she didn’t want another dog i brought her home and now everyone loves her so much :D and she is beautiful and really kind.
This was heartbreaking to watch. It's SO wonderful what you're doing. I have had 3 rescue dogs now, and I'm convinced they know they're getting a second chance and are eternally grateful to you.
que son buenas personas porque ayudan a muchos perros es algo que es admirable e incluso me gusta ayudar a sanar a los waimaraner thanks for all the help that you provide to all waimaraner
I cannot look at this, but here in my country, it is not that easy to purchase a weimaraner puppy cause you need to be fit to have one. People should think about if first and then take a dog. It doesnt matter if it is a weimpy or another dog. If I see shows like ASPA, I get really sick about this people! My weimpy is almost 12 and had alot of issues for the first 2 years, but she is still here and having a great life.
i have a golden retriever about 5 months old,,, and am currently babysitting a 4 yr Weimarnaner for a month for a friend,, what energy,, when i get up from the couch she escorts me all over the place, lol
how could anybody abuse such a loving dog like a weimaraner? i'm glad somebody is doing this. i've got a (verrry) senior weim (he's 15) who i couldn't imagine living without. he's so far past life expectancy for the breed but doing extremely will. he's been developing some hip problems but is otherwise as healthy as ever.
Thank you guys so much for everything you do. It's heartbreaking to know people treat Weims (or any other animal) this way. I want one of these beautiful dogs one day and it makes me sick to my stomach to know this is how some of them are treated.
me and my roommate have been researching dogs...we are moving into our own place next year and we stubbled on the weimaraners..they're beautiful and I think this breed would really fit us well...they have traits we're looking for and we wanted to adopt..its nice to know there are rescues in the south for this breed...keep up the good work!
we have a weim pup right now and he is the light of our lives. we had a blue rescue weimy that we had to put down. he had that demodex mite plus grain allergies. was a puppy mill dog that was abused and neglected. he never completely trusted people so eventually he bit five people, including myself and my husband. he was suffering physically and mentally so we had to put him down. hardest thing i eve had to do. those breeders just ruined him. thanks u rescue groups. die puppy mill owners
This is so terrible! We found our blue weim completely famished-- not as bad as GG but very skinny and also had giardia. It's really great what you guys are doing.
This was very hard to watch, but it's true that with love and care, ANY dog thrives!! They want so little from us and give so much in return!! I actually found my Wein tied to a tree in a parking lot and rescued him--at least he had a note telling me his name, age and a little bit about his past. He had been very well taken care of by his owner, but she got sick and was in a nursing home and her sons didn't want him. I have no idea how long he was tied to that tree, but I saved his life.
i got one :D hes me best mate ever. Nubbie, cos of his short tail, lol. had him since he was 18 months old. hes a rescue dog. couldnt watch ya video, was to upsettin. jus glad theres people out there lookin after these amazin dogs :D
We tried to rescue a weimeraner after our last one died from bloat from a different weimeraner rescue place, the first one that comes up if you google it. They told us they had dogs which urgently needed homes but we'd have to wait a while.. what put us off was that it took them a month to send the first form out, if it takes that long to post a letter we have no chance of rescueing a dog from them.. hope this organisation is more organised!!!!
we've taken two weims from rescue already first was a male... god what a trouble maker but a lovely dog. he died of lukemia after 4 years of TLC, we then tooo his great niece onboard. She is beautiful. Lovely dog and couldn't live a day without her. Very intelligent. Hoping to breed them one day but wont give them out to just anyone, i'm 23, been around weims since 11 years old... know exactly how they think and how they look up to people.. best dogs ever!
Beyond belief that anyone could abuse these beautiful dogs... keep up the great work. We lost our own weimarnaner last month aged 11, and are heartbroken without him
Presley has a forever home, he is very happily spoiled at a home in Memphis, we adopted him over two years ago and he is fantastic boy. He is a sweet, sweet boy and we are very lucky family to be chosen by him to be his forever home.
I bought my Weim as a pup, but from now on I'll get them from a Rescue, after seeing this. These dogs are not hard to raise. They love exercise but also love to cuddle and be couch potatoes. Obedience training and TLC is all they need! No better breed.
Its so sad that someone could do this to such great dogs. I rescued my weim, she was 25 lbs under weight now she is a perfectly healthy 3 year old weim and she even gets to sleep in the bed with me. Love her to death.
Yes, we're finding more and more dogs are being given up simply because of the
terrible economy and people losing jobs!
This on top of all the other "usual" reasons for surrenders and abandoned
dogs as well. It really is heartbreaking to see the animals pay the price for things that they didn't even cause. But every one we can help is what keeps us going! So
Thank for the hard work and for rescue this beatifull dogs. Keep up the great work!!! I really love my weim Norton. He is just like a person sometimes.
Great video have had a weim in our family ever since I was two. I adopted a 6 month old weim from a rescue after my 8 year old died of cancer. He does have some issues but he is a great dog and after 2 years I am glad I did. Keep up the great work!
Yes, the rescues can definitely have issues. But I agree - they are worth it! Gil the No Longer Foster Dog has enriched our lives so much! He's a great dog even if he did eat a hole in the sheetrock in the laundry room! Thanks for your comment!
In 1994 I went to my friends in Houston. Saw a 1 year old Weimaraner walking in the neighborhood. I wanted to take the dogg home in the Netherlands. People just left de dog on the streets. I cannot believe people do such a thing. I really hate to see what people do. Now I am a proud weimpy owner and she is 10 now. I would not trade here for a million.
I must watch this video at least once a week; it makes me cry every time and reminds me how lucky I am to have my weims. All dogs are such beautiful animals and deserve our love and respect.
Just wanted to say you guys have done great work and to keep it up and thank you for all that you do! I volunteer for the Louisville Weim Rescue as well! :)
omg that was the most touching video i have ever seen, and i wish that i could help in any way....my brother and his girlfriend have a weimaraner and they're teaching him to be a hunting dog...his name is Kuda he is the sweetest dog ever..
It's so nice to see the results from rescue they do such a good job here in the UK as well I regularly donate to them to help them out keep doing a great job guys.
These creatures are too special for horrible things like neglect and abandonment to happen to them. Hopefully this will create more awareness and more will be done to help Weims and other animals that need the help. I have a 5 yr Weim named Emma and I know exactly how awesome having one of these dogs feels like. Thanks for posting.
This video made me cry because I know how amazing weimaraners are. They THRIVE on love. THANK YOU SO MUCH for HELPING THEM. I'll be making a donation.

I work with Yankee Weimaraner Rescue. I have fostered rescue dogs and helped to screen both rescue dogs & potential
homes. It is SO important that rescues are place in "forever" homes so they don't
wind up back in rescue due to poor place-
ment. You do the work of angels..... keep
up the good work!!! Their stories are often
sad, but hopefully the happy endings are
worth the tears and heartache!! Every dog
we place in a happy home is worth it all!!!
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!! : )
