Myth 2: Soulblighter Prologue/Intro Cinematic (1998, Bungie)

This is what originally got me into games. It's sad to say that I have yet to find one with as good content in all these years. Thumbs up if you think game makers should look back at these kinds of titles to make a good game.

@AntiMatter3000 I don't mean that all games back then were perfect or that today's games are crap(Skyrim Fan). All I'm saying is that I haven't seen a game that has as good of a story. I really don't know what it is but most of today's games seem like they're missing something.

Games back then at the worst had: bad graphics, bad music, bad button lay out, and bad gameplay.

Games today at the worst have : good graphics, bad music, bad button lay outs, and bad gameplay:

@AntiMatter3000 actually Myth had good music and I enjoyed the gameplay. To me graphics aren't that important, of course this is a matter of opinion so I understand your views on this. My original comment was just pointing at how developers seemed to make things that look pretty but are A) broken to the point where it causes system failure and/or B) lacking in depth or content.

I think Bungie should have signed a contract with Take 2 Games rather than Activision. I mean they own the rights to two of Bungie's franchises, and unlike Activision and EA, Take 2 isn't know for being an evil, greedy publisher.

I think it would have been a smarter idea.

@DigitalDionysusPro Certainly. If Take 2 had extensive expertise with publishing, marketing, maintaining enormously popular MMOs. But it doesn't. ActiBlizzard most definitely does. And THAT'S where Bungie is taking us.

now that bungie have stopped halo, cmon myth 4! and a proper sequel not like that phoned in myth 3. myth was the best multiplayer I've ever had online.

and please don't make a dumbed down rts for xbox owners. make a proper rts for PC owners. show me one xbox kid who doesn't own a PC. your focus groups are fucked.

The first two Myth games were way cooler than Halo ever was.

I remember one of the first games I played I was winning against a guy, and he clustered all his men across a river. so I marched over with my entire army to finish him off. then as they were slowly trudging through the water I saw a Wight shamble from the deep water, and proceed to explode in the middle of my army.

undead don't need to breathe, let alone underwater. I loved it :)

My fav bit is the knight fighting the ghols. The animation looks really fluid when he swipes then throws the ghol off his shield.

And pus packets only stop your movement... he was awake and concious while he was torn apart. Hardcore.

@v2791 Cuz it's not just "collect a bunch of random things to build shit over and over again so really if you lose guys it won't matter depending on the time and position." Myth is the ultimate in actually REALLY thinking about shit before doing it and conserving your guys as much as possible.
