@dj1123 yes actually the reason i dont have it displayed is because its a secondary mos now dude , im not lying i graduated from delta 2/54th fort benning georgia 2 and a half years ago 14 weeks of training . and yeah you would be correct on the state trooper thing because you used to have to be 21 but now you can go through training at 20 as long as you are 21 before you get your own ride and ill almost be 22 by the time i get through doin my ride alongs i have no reason to lie

When you join any military service in recruit training you really have to plan on being humiliated and stressed out. Plan on tearing up in front of your drill instructor. Because if you go in thinking your gonna be some bad ass and get through it no problem. Then your out of your mind. At least if you are aware your going to be disciplined, humiliated, stepped on and made cry in front of everyone. It won't hurt as bad as if you were unaware it was going to happen.

since your a marine (and i'm assuming) you guys are trained in boot camp to preform under pressure, hence the reason why your drill instructors constantly yell and play mind games. Same is being applied to these recruits. They need to learn how to cope with the pressures of being on the streets or in the jails.
Its funny cause at the end of boot we had the new DIs for next cycle and there was this one huge black guy, I figured he was gonna be scary and just let loose. He was actually soft spoken and didn't seem to commanding. But that was the wrong first impression, he got better over our last days at MCRD but it was funny to see him trying to talk it out with recruits, then he learned...yelling works much better. :)
lb for lb i think the marine corps is a more effective fighting force than the S.A.S though.
althoguh i will agreee, USMC, SAS are more challenging than police academy...physically. there is some books involved but really man in law enforcement there is much MUCH more pressure in police academy... pressure. not knowing if you'll have a job, home work, much more book work than the military, plus home life..in the military home is isloated. in its own respect, police acad. is harder

LASD and LAPD have different goals in mind. LASD ships you off to the jails, hence the more stressful academy. LAPD ships you off to the streets hence lesser stress but more training required.
This type of training does not make you super agressive or hate people. This is just like the training that every member of the U.S. military goes through in basic, it's not that uncommon.
No, I do not think that the Police has this kinda training. This is something else, but the LAPD for example does not have this kinda training. It is easier.

What are you talking about, first of all not all Police Academies are like that, I feel they should be though, having gone through both a Police Academy and Marine Corps Boot Camp I can tell you it is absolutely necessary to be trained this way, it makes you more capable of working under pressure which is exactly what the police field entails. You obviously know nothing of Police officers in the United States or the United States its self. Be knowledgeable before you speak.
i went to parris island for like a little mini-boot camp for a week with my ROTC platoon... and it was all fine and dandy until the repel wall. he tied my harness so tight i had rope marks for a week, that shit cut off my oxygen i actually started seeing red at one moment... but hey, at least i get a nice rectangle of thread to show off my hard work :)
I served in the Marines, and am now going to police academy (not this one, but the same style). I can say that being treated like this is expected and 100% necessary in the training. Officers training you need to know that you'll be able to stand with them and others in dangerous and stressful situations and not lose your bearings. Officers who know my instructors outside their academy say they're actually really nice people. It's part of the job. And yes, USMC is tougher than a police academy.
I just hope people realize that this is not the military. THESE GUYS ARE IN THE POLICE FORCE, not in the Marines, Army, Navy, and DEFINITELY not in the Chair Force.

LASD and LAPD have different goals in mind. LASD ships you off to the jails, hence the more stressful academy. LAPD ships you off to the streets hence lesser stress but more training required.

This type of training does not make you super agressive or hate people. This is just like the training that every member of the U.S. military goes through in basic, it's not that uncommon.

No, I do not think that the Police has this kinda training. This is something else, but the LAPD for example does not have this kinda training. It is easier.
Note: This is Sheriff's department.
Sheriff's department is another thing to the LAPD.

this is the sheirff dept and there academy is about 3 months less then lapd or regular police academy but they have the same authority...i think thats a good deal to go thru less training and have the same perks

This is militarization of the police; Hitler done it for "Homeland Security" too.
It's the reason cops are so aggressive these days & there are so many instances of brutality, checkpoints, raids, etc.
They are being taught - like the military - that aggression is always the answer; that the likes of compassion will get them killed.

What are you talking about, first of all not all Police Academies are like that, I feel they should be though, having gone through both a Police Academy and Marine Corps Boot Camp I can tell you it is absolutely necessary to be trained this way, it makes you more capable of working under pressure which is exactly what the police field entails. You obviously know nothing of Police officers in the United States or the United States its self. Be knowledgeable before you speak.

i went to parris island for like a little mini-boot camp for a week with my ROTC platoon... and it was all fine and dandy until the repel wall. he tied my harness so tight i had rope marks for a week, that shit cut off my oxygen i actually started seeing red at one moment... but hey, at least i get a nice rectangle of thread to show off my hard work :)

I served in the Marines, and am now going to police academy (not this one, but the same style). I can say that being treated like this is expected and 100% necessary in the training. Officers training you need to know that you'll be able to stand with them and others in dangerous and stressful situations and not lose your bearings. Officers who know my instructors outside their academy say they're actually really nice people. It's part of the job. And yes, USMC is tougher than a police academy.

I just hope people realize that this is not the military. THESE GUYS ARE IN THE POLICE FORCE, not in the Marines, Army, Navy, and DEFINITELY not in the Chair Force.
