The cobra is best when you pull the torch parallel to the metal piece. Adjacent (as in the beginning of this video) is bit more difficult because the handle get's in the way when welding something with a wide base.
Great video. Your first one kinda sucked until I realized it was a build up to the next one which was really cool. Each video got better and better.
In fact your videos were so good that I bought one of these torches just the other day. The DHC guys must really love you!
I'm really impressed with it. You're right about cutting. it can be a problem with certain cuts in thick metal but I found if you pre-heat the metal, it can be made to cut to the side instead of just straight back.
Fred, is this considered TIG welding? i'm applying for a TIG precision welding job and they weld 16-22Ga sheet metals, I've got 1 yr of exp. in TIG but I've never welding thin materials * no thinner than 1/8 in"... Is it that easy? cause it doesn't seem very harse. what your doing is oxi acetylene right?
@muffinmedschredder this is oxy acetylene. tig welding thin is the best method and it depends on what kind of metal as to whether or not it's "easy". they all take practice some more than others.
Probably the best view of a weld puddle in any video I have seen! Half the welding videos have terrible resolution and poor views of the actual weld taking place. Thanks for showing this.
Um...so still not clear...do you like it? LOL! Great vid and nice looking welds. I can see how the grip/position makes weld control so much easier. 4:24: "A before O because you're a stupid ho." LOL! At 7:19 I was waiting for..."It's the grip....biotch!" Nice job!
Thanks goregoon thats been the general concusses so I will do them that way and at the end make a commercial for it with only the best shots and trying to act like a handy dandy super slick salesman that will be fun because you would have seen me messing up before hand.
When i weld with it, I hold it in between my thumb and pointer finger, with the torch nestled in the crease. Gives you a little bit of a steadier platform.
freddy in your hands it looks like a cot woodsman. as far as the videos, post any of them you like i will watch them no matter if you are learning or art welding. thanks for posting this see ya. from bob and vanie
Fuck you easy to listen to ,like an old dog with nothin to prove or a guy with no demons ,let do shrooms!

That all looks good! I can see how that pistol grip would be good for welding!! It seems that you have a little more control over the flame with it!

TAPE as you learn That is the best way when you are trying to show how good something is for the everyday joe.

OK I will do that. then make one at the end that looks like I'm a super pro even if I have to do several takes and use "creative editing" lol thanks

@freddytk421 Trust me your oxywelding is pretty good as is.
vince38curious2 2 years ago
I don't mind first time cuts or welding from you. It's more natural to see you working yourself into it.
Nice torch.
5 *'s from one of your "imaginary" cyber friends. LoL
