  • This was amazing. Loved playing Outcast back in the day. I'd love to see this come out as an HD remake on consoles and PC.

  • goddamn, this is outcast?! is this some kind of new official version or is it fan made? it looks great, is it out yet, i look forward to play this game all over again 0_o

  • SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY

  • God, it's like my dreams came true...

No, my dreams are outcast sequel, but this is like supergreat!

Outcast is my favorite game (well, at least one of 3 favorites along with Gothic and Drakan), and this mod, or whatever, is so wonderful

  • Where and when can I buy this game in Germany?

  • "Sounds like somebody's poisoned the water hole!"

    Toy Story reference?

This looks great, I only played the demo of the original but I think it's awesome you're making a fan sequel.

  • So awesome! /)^3^(\

  • 2:00 - Am I right in suspecting that the jump cut is a placeholder for coding camera moves during dialogue? I loved the original's use of slow push ins (although sometimes overused if memory serves right.)

  • This is... amazing. The environment is to die for. Many aspects are so faithful to the original yet so detailed and well thought-out! The talan animation while pointing, Cutter's running movements, the architecture, the moons, Okasankaar (!!!) are exactly the same... but with a level of detail ten-fold!

  • When Outcast was released, it had much better graphics than every other game, although the graphics engine was only software-based!! Could that be possible today too?

A pure CPU Game with better graphics than every other game?

  • @r2d2rx Not really. The graphics weren't "cutting edge". Battlezone II, Giants, Half Life, Unreal Tournament, Quake III arena, Homeworld and many others came out at the time. Games were rapidly raising the bar in the 3D graphics department.

Outcast's concept of creating a terrain through heightmap rendering was considered inferior by comparison but, on the other hand, each world in Outcast was considered pretty huge (and required no loading except for the transitions between lands)

  • jesus this was my favorite game !? someone doing a remake ?! jeeesuus...is it possible ? i just did a remix of oriental spirit theme, its veeeery good, i can donate it to this cause !

  • God this looks amazing, I love the original outcast. I'm looking forward to seeing this finished.

  • Are you using only voxels ?

  • What is this? Is this a remake of Outcast in the making? :O

It looks amazing. I've always wanted to play outcast, the graphics have put me off though, and when I finally decided to give it a shot, it wouldn't play on my computer.

  • WOOOOOOW! :O

  • Wow best of luck to this team. Bringing an awesome, often forgotten game to the new century.

  • although the facial animations and voices are terrible the environments in this game look beautiful

  • this legitemately looks like gta iv, like, the movements of the character, shooting, etc

  • Looks great.

  • is this the 1999 outcast I played when I was a child? They're remaking the game?

  • @deepwaterDW no man. this is an unofficial sequel.

  • @openOutcast - When will this be available to buy? Im holding my bucks in my hand right now !!

  • ONE WORD! AWESOME!

  • Wow! This is amazing...Outcast was the greatest experience about playing videogames...the most emotional and surrounding adventure!! to watch this video reminds me those unforgettable moments in 1998, and I always was my big desire to get the sequel "the lost paradise"...but, I think this will be more than I can expect!! I am excited to download Oasis demo and back to these days! I and after to listening to the score on original Outcast (no words about his amazing music by Lennie Moore),Yiiiiha!

  • Sweet, a pot destruction simulator! Just what the market needed! Nay, DEMANDED!

  • great job! :D

  • Finish this! Or else.

  • I didn't believe in this project the first time I saw it when there was barely anything but this stuff is amazing, it really looks like the original in.

  • is this a remake or the second game?

  • WOW !!!! Outstanding !!

  • Outstandinf job! Though it seems that the graphics have a bit of a "cartoon" style to them (which I'm not a big fan), it's incredible. Looking forward to play this!

  • wow looks amazing !

  • Oohhhh man I wish this game was more influential these days...

  • It looks good, but i think it's far away from the original.

  • @TheVictor402 you are right, it looks better than the original

  • cryengine ?

  • Liked and Favorited (is that a word?) :P

Its like a dream come true, so many memories.

  • Reminds me of Mass Effect.

    In a good way.

  • @l2enegadesofFunk

how can it be in a bad way?

  • @MrXevier Because something reminding me too much of Mass Effect would be bad because then I would constantly compare them...so yeah it can definitely be in a bad way.

  • (sorry, here is the end of the comment)

The original seemed more... Authentic. Like if the Talans made it themselves. The new t-shirt seems like if slade brought it from earth with him, knowing he will be called the ulukaï ect...

  • Hi. I'm from france and I'm a huge fan of outcast, i played it first when i was 7 years old. I really like what you did with open outcast and i was really impressed by the amount of work to get such a result. But to me there are still some details that need improvements. It concerns mostly the main character, Cutter used to have glasses with a HUD along with his backpack. And i personally don't like the fact the collar and the sleeves of his t-shirt are not the same. The original seemed more...

  • lol i bought the first one original years ago and bought it once again on gog.com 4 days ago. it was my first real game and i'm still in love with it.

  • 1:30 - When he's running you could really tell that they used the nano suit as model

  • @SLIPKNOTSTUFFNO1 It's only temporary. Don't you worry ;)

  • @openOutcast @SLIPKNOTSTUFFNO1 I kind of like the crappy, arms-up-in-the-air model! It's way more authentic to Outcast!

  • @openOutcast Will you make it look like he's got something up his ass while walking/running like the original Outcast animation? ;D

  • Cutter Slade seems to be missing... :/ seriously, I think you can't avoid changing the main character if you want the game to be close to what the original was.

  • The Graphics look really nice. The music however is not anywhere near as good as the original. Its bland and uninspiring. The score was one of the best things about original outcast.

  • @johnstewart100 how about we find out if the score for the never released outcast 2 is not in someone's hands? if they want us to pay, we could try to chip in, I know someone who'd be willing to do that, most of us do...

  • @PawelWysocki Wow .. what a great idea. I'd definitely contribute.

  • @johnstewart100 Well, that score was played by the Moscow Symphony Orchestra, these guys are doing this in their spare time, I guess. The original score is, even compared to other major games ones, practically unreachable!!

  • Amazing! Really, there is not much more I can say. The best of luck to you for future development.

  • Uuuuuu... Water has none interaction . In the old outcast its looking a lot better imo ;] .

  • Oh man, this takes me back! Looks like you guys are doing a great job! Though I'm not too impressed with cutters voice, is this the final voice or just something quick for the demo?

  • @lingonlas We'll change it if we can find someone more close to the original. If you know someone, let us know! :)

  • @openOutcast I am happy with the voices.

  • @openOutcast Can Cutter climb onto rooftops like in the old one i hope he can :(

  • i m the fan of outcast already and this mod is amazing good job its epic

  • this looks like cryengine from the shading.

  • Just amazing....what a perfect work....but i must admit that Okansankar looks not like the Original one or is it just because of the new engine and mapping?

  • a dream get real

    i am crying right now

  • @DukeNukem0011

    Lol Duke

  • @DukeNukem0011 hahah beautiful

  • I am shocked this is possible... I never knew. I so missed playing Outcast!

  • @Mueiwark Just so you know this isn't the 1999 game outcast. It's a fan made sequel to the game, which is a mod for the game Crysis.

  • Very big works and very high quality ! you respect original work the Appeal Outcast. congratulation ! The Comeback Cutter Slade :D

  • This is starting to look amazing. Very good work guys!

  • graphic are good, effects too, main character model too,but NPC looks strange, didnt played original game ,when this game would be released ? and when people started working on it ?

  • @Toha15 uhm talans look some kind of fucked up... they are skinny have only 3 fingers and they have loooong faces.

Back to topic. I have been following open outcast for 7 years now and finaly it looks like a real game, but cutter slade looked more like bruce willis in the original. :)

  • @drizzid thanks for answer,hope it would be released before 2030 :D

  • I would so pay money for this. Super good work! How I've longed for some kind of sequel.

  • waaaaaaaaaa pervers geil gemacht!!

  • Amazing work!

  • Wiw, you've done an impressive job on that little peek into Okasankaar! :)

  • Impressive!!

Although there'll probably will be no Moscow Orchestra for this, the music you have now is great all the same. :)

Good work, I can't wait for this!

  • wow

  • This looks fantastic, really takes me back to the old outcast. Keep up the fantastic work guys!

    Do you need anything art-related?

  • true awesomenes:......

  • Wow, it looks very polished. I can't wait to play it!
