If i put my thumb on the right it falls off even worse. I broke two gloves in one week in the thumb area. It just happened recently and and my right pinky falls off my left index finger on the back swing

You're absolutely right about your assertions for why the left thumb must be slightly or generously to the right side of the shaft.
