What a waste of my time... It's sort of lame that they made us wait for this, just say that it's canceled. It just looks like they stopped caring because coming from someone who works nearly 95+ hours a week, you are never THAT busy to not have some free time to do something. Especially in a 4 month time frame. Well, I guess there is Soyouthinkyoucanvid. I hope they do it again.
I'm disappointed, not only that this contest failed, because it was such a good idea; but the fact that all of these fantastic vidders spent so much time slaving over making a video. I think, if anything, these people should pass on this competition to someone else. Someone reliable to continue it.
It wasn't really an original idea, since there have been so many contests like this. I guess my fingers are going to be crossed for a SYTYCV season 3.
@SeverusSnapehasmyhea oh, I didn't know that sytycv was biased on subscribers, but this last season they had people with not even 500 subbers in their top 20. I just want to be a part of something solid. but your right, this idea about getting vidders known was good too! Such a bummer

Also- for anyone else who's noticed- the -extended- deadline for this was Nov 8th- which means this is coming up on HALF A YEAR of making people wait. The excuses get old guys.
I have a friend in this and I know it's really frustrating for her- she worked really hard on her entry and stressed and fretted over it and this complete lack of news from the judges is disrespectful to the people who put time into their entries. We KNOW you have lives- you get busy- but so do your contestants and you expect them to be able to adhere to deadlines and then you show absolutely no respect for them yourselves.
I wouldnt be surprised if no one bothers to enter the next round.
Maybe you judges should just pick a time that's good for all of you...I have YouTube friends that live practically on the other side of the world and we still find plenty time to talk so I'm sure you can too.

I helped judge this round of videos, and I felt as though I should get them done as quickly as I could. The judges even asked for me to finish them as soon as possible. I really don't understand how this could be taking so long.

As a contestant, I feel just slightly uninterested now that I've had to wait for so long for the results. We always had a deadline to meet even if we got sick, had to work double shifts and had school. Maybe the judges should make deadlines for themselves? So that they don't get that overwhelmed. It's been right under 3 months since the challenge was posted and 2 months since it was closed. We haven't gotten much updates either which makes us more restless. -_-

@PatronusProductions we're really sorry it's been an extremely busy few months for all of us. between school and losing family members, working, other things have driven us away. I'm not sure when the results will be up but we just ask that you respect our priorities.
Of course I respect your priorities, I understand how busy life can be. But some updates on how everything is going now and then would be a lot easier, I think. Then we know what you guys are up to as well, and it would cause less confusion. Because when we don't hear from you for like a month, people start wondering what's going on.

I agree on the extension. I've been smacking my fingers and telling myself "No! Be patience and wait for the reviews before you start on your entry, or else you'll just mess up everything" every time I've tried opening Sony Vegas xD
Perheps it would be better if you waited with posting the next challenge until after you're done with our reviews? It must be very hard for you to start judging and writing new ones only days after you've done with the previous ones. You judges deserves a break too^^

I had planned to release the reviews after I posted the new challenge but real life took over my time. And then my computer crashed and I had to redo all of the reviews <_< So yeah, this long a wait won't happen again hopefully.

so can I enter with a new video I am doing on Arnold in Last Action Hero? I am using the song Bring Me To Life By: Thousand Foot Krunch it follows his Character Jack Slader and I am showing that the kid in the movie how he is apart of the world of Jack Slader because of this special ticket he brought to life.
Real life can be hectic, I know the feeling. That's why my entries have been late since I've had so much trouble in my real life. Computer issues never help either and I always have those.

Can I enter I know I did not enter back in challenge 2 but I have a video that is just way to good for you to pass it up it won me first place in my school's video editing contest, I started the video in sony vegas and finished it in adobe premire pro I have not uploaded it yet but will if you let me enter it in this contest I will my work does not involve copywrited Material it involves stuff I created myself. I know I can beat everyone here if you do, you need to post your contest better.
That's an extremely conceited thing to say. It's not this contests fault that you didn't enter your video in the audition round. If you have a really good video, post it. Hmm. I actually think that a bit more time for this round would be a good idea, as suggested. After all, the holidays are here, people have vacations and gatherings to attend, and, well...I have lots of time-consuming Christmas vid projects XD

I was wondering, since we never got reviews, is there going to be an extension for the deadline? Many viddders do not know what they did wrong in the last challenge to help them in this challenge. I entered to try to get better, and I am a little nervous with posting my entry this round.. please let me know

I agree on the extension. I've been smacking my fingers and telling myself "No! Be patience and wait for the reviews before you start on your entry, or else you'll just mess up everything" every time I've tried opening Sony Vegas xD
Perheps it would be better if you waited with posting the next challenge until after you're done with our reviews? It must be very hard for you to start judging and writing new ones only days after you've done with the previous ones. You judges deserves a break too^^

My thoughts as well. Maybe it would be easier to post the reviews and the challenge together instead of reviewing, judging and then reviewing again with no breaks in between. I can't even imagine how hard it is to judge so many videos!

I had planned to release the reviews after I posted the new challenge but real life took over my time. And then my computer crashed and I had to redo all of the reviews <_< So yeah, this long a wait won't happen again hopefully.

Real life can be hectic, I know the feeling. That's why my entries have been late since I've had so much trouble in my real life. Computer issues never help either and I always have those.
It's not a problem waiting. I wouldn't mind waiting 2 months for results in all honesty. ^.^
It's just not having reviews and then having to submit another video without knowing where you went wrong feels ... off. So I want to thank you on behalf of everyone for the extension. It's highly appreciated.Thanks

maybe it would be better next time to wait until you've had time to do the reviews before you post the next challenge? so if a rl issue does come up it's not a big deal.
also, i'm sure there are plenty of us not entering the contest that would be more then willing to help you shoulder some of this stuff.. even if its just beta-ing the reviews for you or helping respond to questions. It's a big job for just one person.

Can I enter I know I did not enter back in challenge 2 but I have a video that is just way to good for you to pass it up it won me first place in my school's video editing contest, I started the video in sony vegas and finished it in adobe premire pro I have not uploaded it yet but will if you let me enter it in this contest I will my work does not involve copywrited Material it involves stuff I created myself. I know I can beat everyone here if you do, you need to post your contest better.

That's an extremely conceited thing to say. It's not this contests fault that you didn't enter your video in the audition round. If you have a really good video, post it. And let people review it in the normal way. But don't go around saying that you can beat other vidders if you didn't even enter in the first place.

It doesn't matter; what matters is that due to real life, he didn't have a chance to enter the contest and he shouldn't be stupidly grovelling/threatening the judges so he can get in. People, don't bother responding to them, it's not going to achieve anything. Liz isn't going to accept their entry because they didn't audition for this contest. There are plenty of other contests out there and if they truly believe that their talent is so beyond that of anyone else, then they should have no problem winning any other contest that they enter.

Now you know how we feel. We also use hours on our videos and works really hard. What if you were in challenge 3? And had made 3 videos that took a lot of time, and you didn't get to do whatever you wanted. You had to follow the rules. Would you then think it would be fair that some random person get's to be in challenge 4 when he/she haven't done any of the other challenges?
