Did the Swedes and Irish work closely in Liberia? A friend of mine was in Liberia with the Irish army, Had alot of good things to say about the Swedes. Never really asked him much else about really. I think he said the choppers were Ukraine and that they shit themselves every time they had to use them lol.

Yes we worked pretty close in Liberia, not as close as I would have wanted though. Most patrols were conducted seperately. MI-8s were Ukrainian and MI-24 Russian as far as I remember. And Chopper operations were BIG fun! :D

UN soldiers/Peacekeepers have used their weapons to enforce their mandate/protect themselves on almost all of the UN missions around the world since the 50s.. Sweden alone lost over 10 men in combat in COngo during the 60s.
