  • but you are so good at the tennis one

  • im SO sorry that you are blind

  • very gay

  • pff no saves jugar friki

  • *squints eyes a little bit*

Ahh! I see what you did there! lol

  • I am impressed. I am blind and I don't play Wii or Xbox or anything. I am beyond super impressed!

  • why

  • If u are blind, then walk around the house in a video

  • These are not intended to be O&M Videos, but that is a thought for future work! Thanks!

  • how old r u?

  • Chase is 12. Now, if you want to know my age. . . heehee!

  • How? You cant see anything

  • This is LeAnna. I might not be understanding your questions and I am so sorry if my answers don't make sense to you. I am sighted and Chase's O&M instructor. I also do the videotaping. Chase is totally blind. He is able to play the games using ONLY the sounds from he games, eg. the sound of the tennis ball hitting the court. His swinging the racket is the "whooshing" sound . After he hears the ball hit the court, he begins hitting. He listens for crowd noise and announcer for results.

  • prove it

  • This is LeAnna, again! As you can hear/see, Chase won this game, which I found exciting. Since he is totally blind and was playing the game without any help (I have not used the system more than twice) we thought it would be a good opportunity to show other blind and low vision individuals how to use the system successfully. Please let me know if we can include other information in our next video! Thanks!

  • don`t understand. How do u play will the sound?

  • This is LeAnna. . . Chase listens intently for what is going on in each game. He tried to describe the sounds in this video. We plan to make more Wii Sports games, so what would be helpful for us to include? Thanks!

  • Can u read that warning

  • Nope! I have no vision, just light perception and some shadows! I only use sounds to play the Wii games.

  • This is LeAnna, Chase's O&M Instructor and the videographer. . . No, Chase can NOT read the warning, but he has previously been told that is what is happening on the screen. He has practiced playing all of the Wii Sports games, and usually plays them after school by himself.

  • I saw another video that you posted where you describe the physical layout of the Wii unit, but that video is on a different YouTube channel, it's on a channel called mobilitygirl, is there any reason for that?

  • We use the other channel to review the videos before they are posted to the brailleplus site. We are in the process of moving the other two to this site. Thanks!

  • Do you have any usable sight at all Chase? A couple of times you mention that the pointer had gone off the screen which it does if you stand too close, that's what makes me ask this question.

  • No, Chase only has light perception level of vision. I will need to ask him how he knew about the pointer. . . LeAnna

  • I have some usable low visoin, and while I personally don't have a Wii of my own, my brother does. Did you know that if you have a classic controller you can use the left youstic to move the pointer around the screen? This is what I do as I need to sit close to the TV in order to see what's on the screen and you can't sit too close to the TV if you're using the wii remote on its own. I usually only play NES, Master System and SNES games on my brother's Wii as this are the games I grew up with

  • This is LeAnna. . . I have two classic controllers, but had not thought about trying them. I will give them to Chase to try out and recommend them to my low vision students! Thanks so much for the idea! Good to hear from you!
