Judging from UK media-reports, I'd thought that Obama would sound rather smooth, oily but charming, but his voice is surprisingly somewhat harsh-sounding and carries well. Still, I wish all 4 would-be presidents/vice-presidents woould actually make a decent speech, with some real points.

Obama is a dynamic and eloquent speaker, but he hasn't authored any legislation or reform. McCain is a boring speaker, but his character speaks for itself. I don't care if Obama is half-black and half-white, race is not a determining factor as I care about the issues. Obama has been the anointed one from the get-go, but look at his experience and what has he done. Obama so far has shown he is in it for himself and not for the country. The liberal mainstream media is very powerful and sadly many people prefer style over substance. Most importantly, bigger government, more regulation and raising taxes on the "rich" will make the economy even worse.
