  • “Desperation is the raw material of drastic change. Only those who can leave behind everything they have ever believed in can hope to escape. ”

  • I just love how they move!

  • @Cptheadstomp420 lmao dude your the one that is getting mad, i just said i am loling at your comment. where did you see me going off. dam whats wrong with people like you. p.s. i am white yes its shocking isn't finding out that africa has white people and no i am not south african i am half algerian and half moroccan

  • @Bluddyshadowhell im really just confused as to why the word african pisses you off

  • @Cptheadstomp420 it doesn't. its the image most poeple give it. not all of us are black and i know a good number of us are definitely not poor

  • ~LEGEND~

  • What musical genre would Gnarls Barkley qualify as being under?

  • @Ledzoor Wikipedia lists their genres as: Alternative rock, alternative hip-hop, soul. I would say this song has a clear R&B element as well.

  • everyone do the african face xD

  • viva mi raza :) los meros rudeboys

  • This video went viral on Minsk

  • What is this? Some sort of african tribal dance?

  • I wish I was black.

  • @logotrix you are.

  • @logotrix why?

  • @ganaschico just saying, because the last top comment was wrongly saying it was filmed in africa and stuff. just wanna make sure people know.

  • @timeabovethearthh

And it's worth listening to it over and over again, no matter how many years pass. :P

  • i can't believe it's been almost four years that this record was made... it seems like yesterday!

  • I first listen to this masterpiece while playing NBA2K9 PS2 . I love listening this while playing basketball.

  • @nola17900 You're not playing basketball, you're playing video game

  • @SuperYellowsubmarin I talk about real basketball funny and smart friend

  • @nola17900 Good for you then I actually hate soccer supporters here in France when I hear them shouting "WE won"

  • @SuperYellowsubmarin

Agree with you. Greetings from Greece

  • that song is f*****g beautiful

  • Every time I hear this song on my ipod, I want to dance like the people in this video.

  • MUSIC TO THE WORLD CUP 2010 OF FOOTBALL

  • Brilliant song and dance thanks bro`s

  • i just realised he is cee-low-green. am i stupid. out of touch. or just plain retarded?

  • @Daboomfish Fortunately you're not stupid, out of touch, or anything. That is NOT Cee-Lo Green. CeeLo has always been a chunky guy and this guy is not very chunky. I can see how he looks like a younger version though.

  • @YouIsBeMyBetch Actually, that IS Cee-Lo Green. This guy is "chunky" if anything.

  • 1:14 Cat Daddy! Gnarles barkley made the Cat daddy! :D

  • Class!!!! better than more commercial stuff , i think .

  • Honestly the song and the video are great!

  • Thumbs if you're here after watching the fifa 11 skills

  • thumb up if you listen to this, and in 2011.

  • great song

  • This song reminds me of last years world cup..

  • Everyone is so beautiful in this video.

  • Hey, he said don't follow!

  • i think you're all right about the meaning of the song but in the same time you're all wrong, its your own perception of the song...

  • whaaa? dude its just about couples, being together and gettin over every obstacle in relationships and in life, to follow an idealism, thats why they theyre so many of em, and its hard to keep on, cos life its just difficult... and love cares.

  • Im in the firm belief this song is about accepting death and looking forward to an after life. The door is a coffin, a sort of portal into what many would consider another realm. The woman represents any sort of familiar ties to this life that may hinder that acceptance but ultimately need to be overcome. The ending with the words "don't follow me" are a message that your time will come when it does and that shouldn't rush to it or try to follow more "patience is a virtue" than antisuicide psa.

  • @holyhandgrenade3 makes sense

  • @holyhandgrenade3 I think thats a good interpretation, but I personally think it also applies to life itself, rather than death/afterlife. as in, dont be afraid to make choices, do new things, explore and reset boundries.

but it can just as wel imply what you said, the lyrics are versitile enough

  • @holyhandgrenade3 i saw a slightly different interpretation. i looked at it as his spiritual growth. he's found a path to walk and he's prepared to walk it alone. hes prepared to focus on himself leave all of those that would deter him from it. when he gets to that spiritual place, and ultimately heaven, he'll be waiting for those ready. i'm not religious, that's just what i got from it. the death theory makes except for being prepared to go alone...we have no choice.

  • @k2needja I agree for the most part, but there is this one line:

"Every once in a while, I think about her smile. One of the things I do miss."

He's definitely talking about a spiritual journey, but his destination is on this planet. He's moving on, while maintaining hope that the person he loves will come back to him, but in a different spiritual place.

"I promise I'll be waiting for you."

"I'm sure they'll have a place for you too."

He's not dieing and hes talking a woman.

  • @k2needja I watched the video, kept what you said in mind. And dang man, you're brilliant!

  • @holyhandgrenade3 ... wisdom... thank you for that

  • @holyhandgrenade3 i think this song is about dancing niggas :))

  • @holyhandgrenade3 WOW...I never saw this song that way. I see it as a positive. Someone's making a change for the better and maybe some can follow or not change enough to come along. Interesting. Happy New Year though one way or the other.

  • @holyhandgrenade3 not physical death

  • @holyhandgrenade3 Well... its won way of interpreting it, But, I myself prefer to think that the door represents a portal, to a more advance state of the human mind...... so it can be even more deep then the concept of death itself,...But or interpretation is cool also.

  • @mcffalcao ...Dam my bad spelling..."but Your interpretation is cool also".

  • wow! greta song! :D

  • Its in Jamaica...

  • Does anyone else realize this isn't Africa?

  • @ELEMENTsk8FUN your right it is Jamrock.

  • @ELEMENTsk8FUN This is Jamaica, I should know I live there.

  • @ELEMENTsk8FUN it clearly says it was shot in Jamaica

  • @ELEMENTsk8FUN wel yes, its said in the discription

  • @ELEMENTsk8FUN its Jamaica isnt it ?

  • @ELEMENTsk8FUN This video was shot in Kingston Jamaica around the community called Tivoli Gardens. It was on the news here that there where shooting the video here in Jamaica. This is not Africa but Jamaica.

  • doesn't it say in description that it's shot in Jamaica?

  • @ELEMENTsk8FUN

hum... it's written in the description : "shot in Jamaica".

  • SUBROSA Get Used To It : )

  • Fred Perry, Dr. Martens, braces and blue jeans. This is some proper skinhead gear!!! Great video.

  • amazing!!!!!!!!

  • I think at the end when it says "Don't follow me", he's trying to say that it's not good there.

  • @HadoukenDave - No, I think he's just trying to be brave by going it alone into the unknown. But she's not buying it and has the courage to go along.

  • Hay guys!is there any one knows which dance these guys doing? It's so cool...

  • did anyone think mine craft withe the portal to the nether only not obsidian a door and a rock instead of flint and steel

  • The best music ever, lol this is Jamaica not Africa

  • Why do people think this is Africa?

    ITS JAMAICA!

  • I hope she'll be okay in the Nether with mobs turned on.

  • Soooo, who's the honey lip-synching the vocals?

  • Africans are so much better than African Americans.

  • @LeafyGreenDA

  • 0:28 I'm soooo fascinated...

  • 0:29 I'm soooo fascinated...

  • @ThaPlasticJesus

I'm Jamaican, and I'm be no means of Ethiopian decent, in fact jamaican culture is form from the mix of all its inhabitants thus the motto on our crest "Out of many one People" ...that is all.

  • I fuking love it

  • Yep totally Jamaican

  • Bloody blacks... Those obtuse yankees oftenly say that you are the blemish of their country. Why is it that you can easily prove that you are the people who have massively impacted on their culture in the positive way and that many of them whites wanna be like you? Is it just the charisma or is it somethin extra?

  • best song, best video, best dancers ever! i love it!

  • best vid ever

  • i wish i could dance

  • The fearless leader is...incredibly sexy O.o

  • And to get "there" all you have to do is dance.

  • My literary mind: Could this be a metaphor for the exposure of foreign culture to Africa in the last few centuries?

My teenage mind: Nah, it's just a rockin' song, man.

My logical mind: Can't it be both? =D

  • @pseudogenesis I really like this comment but these kids are actually Jamaican.

  • @abibailwatson Ok, thanks a lot. Good to know. It's just that some of the jewelry had a kind of African vibe. I don't know too much about other cultures, is that kind of art shared in Jamaica? :)

  • @pseudogenesis actually, that would be African influenced... Black population was delivered by white folk with the slave trade centuries ago. Arawak were native to Jamaica, and they either moved or were killed off by things like smallpox. So, you are correct.

  • @seemycervix Technically, I guess. Gracias. ;D

  • @pseudogenesis i acctually think ur on the right path

this does reind me of something that is dedicated to africa and in my eyes slavery

but it definitley is a rockin song

  • @pseudogenesis Probably not since that is a map of Jamacia

  • @Goumindong Oh, ok. That would make much more sense.

  • @pseudogenesis I thought this song was about death....? Maybe it's all three?

  • @pseudogenesis It's actually an optimistic metaphor for death/suicide.

  • @niffer452 Huh. Interesting.

  • @niffer452 yup thats right its a song on death, but mostly about going on, onto the next life-the afterlife

  • do you have high quality??

  • 've just seen it on tv and thougt it's fron 70s

  • Belle chanson ! (:

  • discovered this song in a puma commercial

  • I THINK CONGRESS SHOULD DO THIS, MAYBE THEY MIGHT GET SOME MORE STUFF DONE IN THE PUBLIC EYE..

  • Great video..and love the song..prefect combination..

  • OMG wow.. so? Danger mouse tried stiffing everyone too did he.. with a pirated copy -- of someone else's creation .. into his own ..(seems liek murphy's law isn't it .. that someone .. should do -- exactly the same kcaB -- without adding anything .. nor by taking anything away .. from? just another K_RAY_Z "rendition" .. of ? Well = it was (just) CRAZY to begin with .. after all.?

  • I remember this from NBA 2k9, it was so epic.. :D

  • aint this cee lo green

  • Comment removed
