The last time i revved up my 740GL '88 with original 43,000 miles on it, i got near as damn it 60mph out of second gear just as i changed up to third...these engines have a lot of oomph..especially when theres no factory fitted catalytic converter on the car...leaded petrol rules!

Hey.. i got 110 km/h (65 mph) @ 2nd gear on my old '84 740 with a B230A engine...

The original A-type carbouerator engine has 112hp and 192 Nm factory tuned...

compared: the E-type mechanical injection engine has 131hp and 190 Nm torque (188hp and 270 Nm with a turbocharger)

The F-type ECU injection engine has 116hp and only 177 Nm torque.. (172hp and 255 Nm with turbo)

The wildest engine type was the B234 16v with 160hp (235hp with turbo)

I know that these engines LOVES gasoline
