In the infinite size of the space and the infinite time in the past and future we're just a tiny, insignificant spec. We're just renting space for a good 70 - 80 years and then it's time to move out. Like the memories and experiences you had before you were born, there will be none afterwards. It's depressing, but there's really nothing to look forward to when you think hard about it. There's nothing. Kind of like when you're asleep for hours, but when you wake up it only felt like 10 minutes.

@kokilalf01 A bomb would, in all liklihood, make things worse. It would just blow the meteor into a few hundred smaller meteors that would cause widespread damage just about as bad as whats in the video. And, in order for it to completely disentegrate the meteor, it would probably have to be multiple times as powerful as the Tsar Bomba. The best chance would probably be to attach some high power rockets or ships or something like that to it and change its course.

( the most probable solution to a cosmic collision problem.) The Stand off plan is also to adjust something similar to a 10km asteroid. something that vastly smaller than what was used in this scenario. Changing the Course of a planetoid is outside human ability.

@TheRedAngelz I'd Like to say partially true. the Event that is theorized to have constructed the moon is a planetary collision where new born earth takes a another planet to the face. The collision doesn't shatter earth, but enough damage is done to throw enough debris out that it creates our moon. So while the earth won't shatter as a whole (after all the mantle and outer core are made of molten metals, those are "liquids" so it absorbs shock-waves), the crust itself WILL break and fracture.
