Seiko should be shot for not coming back out with something just like SEIKO 62MAS Sub 6214 in an updated version and in the same size only with 20mm lugs!
After seeing the price on the spring drives, I'll just stay with my old Seiko 5's. I may have to adjust the time once a week, but for the price of spring drive I could buy a bushel of Seiko 5's.
This is in a whole other class than the Kinetic. The Kinetic is a Quartz movement that charges by running a generator attached to a weighted mechanism that looks very similar to the self winding mechanism in an automatic watch. The Spring Drive is a mechanical style movement that regulates itself as it runs electronically, which you can see in this animation.
Swiss watch = mechanical engineering
Seiko watch = mechanical + electrical engineering

make a version with a more persice quartz movmentm 15 seconds a month is not good enough. why not use 10 seconds a year. oceslotor

Why do you need to adjust the time once a week? That's not normal for a watch even without spring drive.

for an unadjusted Seiko 5 thats perfectly normal, the manual states to expect up to a 2min gain per week.
